Covington Catholic Student Nick Sandmann Gets Settlement From CNN After $275 Million Lawsuit

Brilliant! My colleagues and I can’t sue, because we are ‘public figures’ – but this is just as satisfying.

I’d like to believe that the enemedia will give pause before they viciously destroy their target – someone with whom they disagree. But they won’t.

BREAKING: Covington Catholic Student Nick Sandmann Gets Settlement From CNN After $275 Million Lawsuit

By Ryan Saavedra, DailyWire.com, January 7, 2020:

Story continues below advertisement

Covington Catholic High School student Nick Sandmann received reportedly has received a settlement from CNN after suing the far-left network for smearing him last year.

“CNN agreed Tuesday to settle a lawsuit with Covington Catholic student Nick Sandmann,” Fox 19 reported. “The amount of the settlement was not made public during a hearing at the federal courthouse in Covington.”

Sandmann also filed lawsuits against The Washington Post and NBC Universal, each for $250 million or over, and is reportedly planning to “sue Gannett, owners of The Enquirer.”

Sandmann attorneys Todd McMurtry and Lin Wood filed a $275 million lawsuit against CNN in March of last year in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky.

“CNN was probably more vicious in its direct attacks on Nicholas than The Washington Post. And CNN goes into millions of individuals’ homes,” Wood told Fox News’ Mark Levin last year. “CNN couldn’t resist the idea that here’s a guy with a young boy, that Make America Great Again cap on. So they go after him.”

“They really went after Nicholas with the idea that he was part of a mob that was attacking the Black Hebrew Israelites, yelling racist slurs at the Black Hebrew Israelites. Totally false,” Wood continued. “Now you say you’ve seen the tape; if you took the time to look at the full context of what happened that day, Nicholas Sandmann did absolutely nothing wrong. He was, as I’ve said to others, he was the only adult in the room.”

In an interview on Fox News last year, McMurtry told anchor Sandra Smith, “Well, what CNN’s tagline is facts first. And what we believe their reporting was in this circumstance was lies first; cover up second, and facts not yet determined by that organization. So the difference between this lawsuit and the other lawsuit that we have filed is that CNN is a very significant media organization with a much broader reach than say the Washington Post. It has a Twitter followers of 41 million people. It published four videos. Nine online articles that were tweeted out. So that’s millions and millions and millions of repetitions of the lies and falsehoods that CNN spread.”

“Well, we’ve talked about the impact the impact on Nicholas Sandmann a number of times and it — it is significant,” McMurtry continued. “Nicholas Sandmann was a 16 year old man who had a perfect reputation. He was loved by his parents, respected at his school, and had many good friends at Covington Catholic High School. So he was a person that was doing very well in life and due to his strong character, he still is. But never the less, his character has now been determined by the lies issued by CNN. So the facts were not first, the lies were.”

In early February, Sandmann’s lawyers released a list of 54 individuals and news organizations that they sent letters to instructing them to preserve evidence for potential lawsuits. The list includes:

It is just a cost of doing business and is tax deductible, but is very significant for Sandman and his lawyer. Media will be dreading his lawyer for the rest of his life. Hope he does not get arkancided.

Without any information as to the settlement amount and stipulations we still don’t know if justice was done or if CNN and the government colluded to minimize CNN’s exposure.

If you know anything about Sandman’s attorney, it has to be a lot!

Good for Nicholas; Davis slays Goliath, the fake-news giant CNN. Now, let’s see what happens with the other fake-news giants. The gullibility and ignorance of the subversive Democrats’ nefarious, hateful acolytes of the MSM, or the ragtag aspirant Commies will ultimately cause their downfall.

How many people, especially youngsters, are beat-up or insulted for wearing a MEGA hat by the hate-mongering leftists? Take note MSM and others of the draconian dogma of the Leftist/Democrats/Islam, unlike you; these American patriots will win in the end. It is you, the Left who will become irrelevant, choking on the bile of your hatred.

Many ways to ponder how that young man’s character was shredded in the Public Square. And a school’s reputation blackened, from collateral damage! Before the whole Nation, Mr. Sandman’s life besmirched for all time—slander-stained in print and film archive. Tomorrow enter his name, or two decades hence, and click (liberal) search, …

During real-time ordeal, consider multitude of travelers, waiting and passing through innumerable AIRPORTS. Perhaps even overseas, witnessed on countless screens. How many beheld young lad clamped in stocks, figuratively held-fast—-subject to Left-Media persecution? His name had been seized captive, so his person suffered complete—prolonged—public humiliation!

“[M]ob attack”? —Total reversal of truth! “Lies first”, facts left on shelf.

Millions in compensation, hardly make amends for wounds inflicted on one family, an entire class of students, and their School.

Hopefully the judgement will serve as a deterrent to fake news defamation.

Congratulations to the Covington boys and their legal team. I will particularly enjoy seeing the boys legal team take the three “catholic” bishops to court. I think after all the lies and abuse by these dioceses that a righteous Kentucky jury will find it very easy to reach a verdict in favor of their victims. Te Deum!

Those kids learned a lot more about the world on that field trip than their teachers ever imagined they would. I hope there was at least a profound apology from the school for being so quick to jump on the bandwagon and blame the kids instead of the adults who were harassing the kids for having the temerity to wear a hat the adults didn’t like.

Yet it is Black Hebrew Israelites who attacked a kosher supermarket and the recent Hannukah celebration.

Hopefully he will continue his studies and go to law school fully funded by this judgement. I like the sound of senator Sandman or even supreme court justice Sandman. He could be a worse nightmare for baby killers than Kavanaugh.

I am overjoyed to hear this! Look what they did to Richard Jewell after he found the bomb at the Atlanta Olympics! Same thing: they utterly destroyed his reputation. The Duke lacrosse team. It is about time these lying sons of bitched were held accountable for their despicable actions. They have been riding roughshod over the American people for far too long.

I am very glad that Nick Sandmann won his case and I also hope he wins most of the rest of them although the circumstances may differ. I don’t really hold to the belief though that a public figure cannot sue when libeled or slandered or both. Lawyers call either of them defamation. If the public figure has been damaged and can prove damages in economic ways (money out of his pocket), he/she ought to be able to sue for the money lost. Money that would have otherwise remained or gone into his/her pocket. Thus the Supreme Court decision may not always apply, and in some cases it should be challenged. Exceptions exist for everything.
