‘Conservative’ Henry Jackson Society Includes Anti-Sharia Campaigners In ‘Extremism’ Report

By: Allum Bokhari, Breitbart News, January 24, 2020:

The Henry Jackson Society, a British neoconservative think tank, has included anti-Sharia campaigners Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer in a list of “extremism” case studies, placing them alongside radical pro-Sharia Islamists like Zakir Naik.

Story continues below advertisement

The think tank, whose international patrons have included the NeverTrump “conservative” Bill Kristol and Iraq war cheerleader Richard Perle, smeared Geller and Spencer in a new report, titled “Free to be Extreme.” According to a disclosure in the report, it was funded by Facebook.

The report calls for closer collaboration between the British government, which has passed draconian laws against “hate speech” in the past two decades, and social media companies.

The report is clear that its aim is to provide a framework for “restricting expression.”

It states: “restricting expression may be required to fulfil the aim of governments and institutions to balance toleration, protection, and freedom in liberal democratic societies.”

In addition to several Islamists, the report also identifies Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer, who are both critics of Islamism, as potential “extremists.” The report’s evidence for this includes Geller “displaying an offensive of Prophet Mohammed online” and Spencer’s argument  “that all schools of Islam teach warfare against non-Muslims, and that Islam is inherently violent.”

It seems that in the Henry Jackson Society’s opinion, flouting Islamic blasphemy laws about depicting Mohammed and criticizing Islamic doctrines about war could be enough to make you an “extremist.”

Because of this, the Henry Jackson Society sees fit to include Geller and Spencer on a list that includes Islamic preacher Zakir Naik, a man who has defended sex slavery, wife-beating, and Osama bin Laden.

In a comment to Breitbart News, Pamela Geller slammed the Henry Jackson Society for lumping them in with Islamic extremists.

“The British government has long attempted to create a threat from the ‘far right’ that is, they claim, equivalent to the jihad threat,” said Geller.

“This is one reason why I got banned from the country — in the absence of any real “right-wing extremist” leaders, they had to create some, The Henry Jackson Society has been reputed to be a conservative group, but is clearly trying to secure a place in the British establishment by jumping on the bandwagon of pretending there is a ‘far-right extremist; threat.”

“Like virtually everyone in Britain, they have lost the plot.”

Robert Spencer also had harsh words for the Henry Jackson Society.

“The HJS is cutting its own throat,” said Spencer. “It has been defamed as far-right many times. Is it really so naive as to think that it could get the government to silence people smeared as ‘far-right’ and be sure that its own enemies won’t use this weapon against them?”

Speaking to the left-wing British blog The Independent, the author of the HJS report, Nikita Malik, complained that not enough “far-right groups” were proscribed in the UK.

“The lack of far-right groups subject to proscription in the UK, when compared to Islamist groups, has left the authorities reliant on hate crime legislation rather than specific terrorist offences which carry heftier sentences,” said Malik. “The government will need to keep this situation under review in a fast-moving online world, where offending causes real and significant harm.”

Malik suggested that government proscription of so-called “far-right” groups would help social media companies ban them from their platforms.

“Companies are unable to take down a lot of this content because they have a list from the government of proscribed groups and these groups are simply not on it,” said Malik.

Although the Henry Jackson Society is now suggesting others are “far-right” and “Islamophobic,” the neoconservative think tank has long faced allegations from the left of the same. A 2015 article from the Soros-funded left wing advocacy group OpenDemocracy accuses the HJS of being linked to “organised Islamophobia promotion.”

More recently, a Muslim group group called the Islamic Human Rights Commission described the HJS as “inveterate Islamophobes.” Another article from a left-wing journalist accuses HJS of “mainstreaming the far right.”

The Henry Jackson Society has yet to respond to Breitbart News’ request for comment.

Jokes and sarcasm aside … there is no “far-right.”

“Far-right” might include someone like Timothy McVeigh, the Christchurch shooter, or the El Paso shooter …

… except all three of those guys are more N a z i s …

… in other words they’re Leftists, but they’re too white to be ‘down’ with the ’cause’ that has defined Whitey as THE target.

“Right” in America = an pro-American, and that’s generally an American ‘conservative.’

“Right” in Europe is a little different, but it’s still generally nationalist, and non-violent. The last time we saw violence out of any on the ‘Right’ was decades ago: We have not seen any ‘extremism’ since the Irish stopped bombing British police check points.

And blaming Europe’s World Wars on the “Right” …

… is literally like blaming us peasants for Bush and Obama’s adventures in Endless Wars. They weren’t elected to do that; and they would not have gotten away with it but for an Enemedia that spews Big Lies 24/7 to folks who – for the most part – vote Left or Left-lite. When challenged neither one could explain their Vietnam-like strategies – other than to attack and criticize us.

“Far-Right” = a label the Left uses to blame normal, sane, decent people with the courage to resist the Left’s abnormal, insane, and indecent plans to spread crime, violence, poverty, ignorance, victims, and lies for control, schadenfreude, and criminal ‘profits.’

There is a heavy suspicion that McVeigh like the las Vegas shooter, the German airline pilot and many others was crypto-muslim. That is a westerner who kept his name and his conversion secret from everyone except his controller. IIRC McVeigh received his explosives from a muslim and this was hushed up. The las Vegas shooter story died suddenly when evidence of the second man became known. As an addendum the mass murderer in Tasmania Australia whose “actions’ brought about the introduction of gun laws had a recording made while he was talking to the police on the phone. You could hear sporadic single shots in the background and not in that room.. Impression: there was another shooter. The similarity here is worldwide: ban guns to attain total control.

If McVeigh was a ‘crypto-Muslim’ … it would not be a surprise; and it would fit his profile. And we have stronger evidence that the LV shooter might be a ‘crypto-Muslim’ too – including the fact that ISIS endorsed him. In his case, it’s the only explanation that makes sense. ‘Crypto-Muslim’ would also explain the German pilot’s suicide method. It’s certainly possible. And as to your other points I agree.

But my point is that there is no spectrum of ‘right-wing’ beliefs that runs from soccer moms who vote Republican (or Tory or whatever) to Ideological-terrorists.

Leftism is a hate ideology: Millions have died for it in my own lifetime, and that doesn’t count abortions.

Islam is a hate ideology: Millions have died for it too in my lifetime. And if I converted to Islam, someone would have to die – because I’ve read their books and I know what is required for 72 raisins.

Rightism is not a hate ideology.

Rightism in modern civilized societies for at least the last two hundred years has generally been non-violent. My Irish cousins used violence – and I would count them as an example – but they’re also bipolar nut jobs – and they had legitimate political grievances – so they should not be classified with any other terrorists except perhaps the Tamils. These exceptions are not driven by ideology, but by a combination of political circumstances, someone to supply weapons, and individuals willing to use them on third-party targets in an illogical way.

With a few exceptions, like the ones I just mentioned, Right-wing Extremists are not going to blow anyone up or shoot anyone who disagrees with them. They might ‘meme’ someone into emotional fury, or out argue them with hundreds of facts, but they’re not going to bomb them.

When Right-wingers do show up in a large group, they will pray for their enemies – and pick up the trash. They might shout a few slogans, but that’s it. Even if we counted Charlottesville – which was organized by a Obama plant – and which was supposed to be anti-revisionist history – the only incident occurred because one guy became frightened and accidentally ran into someone on the other side. Had the political sides been reversed; the driver would be a hero with a gofundme page, and the victim would be dismissed as someone who deserved to be run over.

Of course the violence of the Left is pushing people’s buttons. We know what happens if they gain full power and we lose any right to stop them. This might lead to a random act of violence by a nut, but it will not lead to organized violence because there’s no target. Assassinating some criminal politician – and we can name a few, but I don’t want to be Swatted – would accomplish nothing – even if he deserved it – because another would just take his place. Worse, it might incite Left-wing extremism and give them ’cause’ for another egregious over-reach against the community and normal people.

I am the most extreme Right-wing nut I know. I am already on a watchlist for domestic terrorism, a list that’s secret and illegal btw. But I know I’m on it because, for example, it came up when I applied for admission to law school. When the FBI contacts you, and starts asking questions, you know what’s up.

And I cannot even think of how violence would help the “Rights”cause. Certainly, when the Left comes to round us up and load us into cattle cars, violence might be appropriate – but until the Left makes a move so obvious that even a soccer mom in Vermont “gets it” … violence is literally counter-productive. Violence is just not appropriate.

So our best weapon is telling the truth as best we can:

“Far-Right” extremism = just telling the truth. That was the point.

You and yours have a wonderful week!

They define as extreme right wingers anyone with whom they disagree.
If you are a patriot, defend the constitution, dislike being forced to like woke rubbish and perhaps believe that Christianity has done a lot of good then you are labelled such.
In actual fact the nebulous extreme right winger only seems to exist in comics and movies like Romper Stomper especially as Nazism was ALWAYS socialist which kind of embarrasses them intellectually.

Our “law enforcement” like the UK’s refuse to associate any criminal activity to Islam out of their sharia compliant fear of being labeled an Islamophobe. After all, they wouldn’t want to also be blamed for the rise in islamophobia.

It’s really sad… that these same people are quick to claim a person who likes Christmas but hates Christianity who commits a heinous crime a Christian but will refuse to mention Islam even if the guy is quoting Quran verses and shouting “allahu ackbar”.

This is nothing more than Muslims trying to frame opponents of Islam as ‘extremists.’ Essentially it’s a baseless ad hominem attack trying to pass for legitimate discourse.

When I’ve debated Muslims online and exposed Islam as a cult of hate and mass murder (citing history, the Quran, etc), Muslims would claim I was an extremist as well-without any evidence. It is the tu quoque fallacy (‘you too’), slinging mud on their opponents hoping it’ll stick.

Surprising it actually works because most people are weak-minded idiots who don’t do any of their own research. So what the Muslims achieve if they can’t fully paint you as the boogeyman is to at least sully your character and therefore delegitimize your argument.

If people were actually objective, they’d realize those who talk about Islam being a threat to the West were speaking frankly about an ideology that is proven to be evil and dangerous.

This claim appears to be outrageous and unbelievable to those who’ve never studied the doctrines of Islam which is why when Muslims smear Pam Geller, Robert Spencer, Tommy Robinson, Geert Wilders, etc, then people fall for these lies.

They ignore the message and shoot the messenger and then simply refuse to examine the claims presented about Islam, that’s exactly what the Muslims want. At the same time the authorities recognize there is a lot of Islamic extremism and yet fail to admit the critics were right.

I think partly it’s also cowardice and political correctness, they want to appear “fair” by claiming it’s somehow also extremist to talk about the problems coming out of Islam.

What’s even worse are those groups, social media doubling-down on stupid by censoring and silencing critics of Islam. Essentially sweeping the issue under the rug, which again only helps Islamic fascists because if people don’t know about the problem and can’t discuss it, then it will only get much worse.

For decades the establishment and media have been taking the wrong approach with Islam and its critics. As Einstein said, insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result.

If you think silencing people who talk about Nazis, Muslims, fascists will stop Nazism, Islam, fascism then you’re a retard and have no business running a lemonade stand, let alone a country.

The govt needs a new approach which is to stop demonizing people who love their country and want to save it from being Islamified and just listen to what they have to say and then turn their attention towards the real troublemakers and deal with them.

When in any self governing nation state, only “liberal” views are allowed an airing, you get tripe like this from the HJS.

The whole issue of what constitutes “offence” is clarified only by reading the history of how those who came before us faced up to their fears and challenges in their time, placing their lives, material progress and personal happiness on hold before punching the enemy hard and for longer than he could sustain until he quit the field – beaten.

It’s this stupid desire to see good in everything and everybody despite all the evidence to the contrary, that prevents cold reality dawning on the many today.

It’s this moral lethargy closely linked to ignorance and wishful thinking that renders most contemporary people helpless and paralysed, much like rabbits caught in the glare of the oncoming Islamic headlight.

Life and our survival is today much as it’s always been, like Rugby Union, the harder you go into the tackle, the less likely it is your’ll be hurt.

BIG difference between a CONSTITUTIONAL CONSERVATIVE and a NEOCONSERVATIVE, folks.

Constitutional Conservatives, well, Judges don’t try to change or makes laws, they just interpret existing laws. THE DEMOCRAT AND LIBERAL JUDGES, however, legislate from the bench. Judges are supposed to interpret the law only, but with all that power they have, most liberal dumb, stupid foolish Judges try to legislate or twist the laws according to their own agenda.

NeoConservatives (‘Neo- Greek’ :meaning young or new NEO, from Marvel Comics, could mean a fictional race of superhumans), OR it could mean NEOPOLITAN or worldly outside the box. These people are ‘NEAR-EARTH ODDITIES’, meaning, they sort of believe in the Constitution, except for the Amendments (tsk, tsk), in which now they will interpret them according to what THEY want them to be.

HERE’S THE DICTIONARY TERM OF NEO:
neo-a combining form meaning “new,” “recent,” “revived,” “modified,” used in the formation of compound words: neo-Darwinism; Neolithic; neoorthodoxy; neophyte.

THESE ARE REALLY CONFUSED PEOPLE (“new,” “recent,” “revived,” “modified,”).

Oh and DO NOT FORGET: In Britain, if you are accused by their Government/D.A, YOU MUST PROVE YOUR INNOCENCE unlike here in the USA, the D.A. or State must prove your guilt. HOW BACKWARD IS THAT?

NOW, you know the rest of the story.

Most of the leftists and muslims who post here are simply trolls or fools with rubbish arguments. Occasionally there are some decent, if naïve, liberal ones who try to go down the middle but the zealots here give them short shrift. The current atmosphere here(it will be denied) makes even agnostics and atheists relatively unwelcome. Some fools are so arrogant they think that their god will win them this war without needing any allies as such.

Believe me when you have large numbers of leftists/muslims all you have are flame wars and new adjectives as very few are actually capable of truly debating .

I enjoyed too many years of atheist propaganda (incl. in public school and UCLA [spit]) to be particularly favorable to atheists now. I particularly enjoy how the brave, brave atheists of the dying West went after Christianity in public schools like a house on fire but tuck their tail between their legs and slink off like whipped dogs when it comes to muslums and islum — particularly in the USA.
Then there’s the fact atheists slaughtered more people in the name of Communism than everyone and anyone killed in the name of Christianity — a fact denied and obfuscated by atheists across the dying West today.

Michelle

I can totally agree with that. For all my views on Christianity it was the glue that bound us together and created a uniformity amongst us all. Atheism is NOT a doctrine that can be taught and should not be, as it is a concept that requires thought and force feeding it to children is no different to force-feeding islam. I cannot say that my childhood views on Christianity were particularly overwhelming and TBH I was quite disappointed with those who taught it but IMO it is far preferable to what is happening now.

I find the atheist propaganda being taught particularly virulent WRT Christianity, but I’ve never noted any atheists having any problems going to hospitals founded by the hard work and cash contributions of Jews and Christians. I believe more hospitals have been founded by Catholic organisations across the USA than any other organisation.

Michelle

As I have said elsewhere and repeatedly,. the religion of atheism has IMO a lot to answer for as have the atheists who have destroyed our law and education. But to credit Christianity with health care is a bit OTT. The western introduction of clean water, asepsis and sewerage has saved more lives than any hospital religious or not and to say that atheists should think twice about going to a hospital with a religious origin is plain silly. I have been in military and quite a lot of different hospitals and I have EARNED any right to be there. I dislike not a few atheists but until one gives me reason as an individual to hate her/him hating the whole group is silly and as idiotic as simply hating Jews because they are Jews.
