In your very black & white world, there is no gray area but in real life there is. I’m no fan of the barbaric Saudis but reality is that the US is committed to their defense ever since we became their largest crude oil customer. The Saudis also hold as much as a TRILLION in US debt. These are facts. He inherited this status quo relationship with the Saudis. Trump is not Robbin Hood. His job is not to right every wrong on the planet. He ran on the promise of putting the American taxpayer first. More than any of the three previous Presidents, he has kept that promise. The fact that he has turned out to be so biased in favor of Israel is gravy.
Furthermore, the Gulf States (except perhaps Qatar), the US and Israel now view Iran as the biggest threat. If the situation with Iran escalates into a war, it’s not inconceivable that Saudi Arabia and Israel might find themselves as allies fighting Iran.
In a perfect world idealism would always triumph but in the real world it doesn’t.

As far as I can see the way he is dealing with the Saudis is a prime example of turning lemons into lemonade…although I doubt any positive outcome will be time stamped, if you know what I mean. Like Dr. McCoy once replied to Captain Kirk, after Kirk had asked the universe ‘what have I done?’, ‘you turned death into life, as you always do’. DJT has that knack, and we are exceedingly lucky he decided to take up the gauntlet, give up his cushy life, and make one incredible difference after another. Anyone who cannot see that is blind as a bat and/or in major denial.

The Saudis bought a allot of military weaponary from U.S. so they need to train them.
The U.S. is not “committed to their defense.” It also has nothing to do with our debt.
The Saudis have paid us to train them to defend themselves. The Saudis, Israel and others are terrified at the idea of Iran having nuclear weapons. This is why Israel and Saudi i Arabia are frenemies. BTW the Saudis have their own debt problem, with oil not being their cash cow. This is why Saudi Arabia is trying to open up and be a tourist mecca. Saudi Arabia is not a place we’d be interested in visiting.

The Saudis goal may be to defend themselves and our relationship with them may be evolving but historically we did commit to defend any attacks against gulf state petroleum assets. When we were much more dependent upon them for energy, it made sense. Hell, we sent 150K soldiers when Kuwait was attacked by Saddam.

In the unlikely event that SA and Israel become allies in a war against Iran, its a given that Israel would be very leery of sharing intel with the Saudis.
It’s hard to fathom today, but the US and Russia were allies during WWII. In America, we were all raised to distrust the Soviet Union and with good reason. The communists were horrible. But it doesn’t change the fact that millions of Russians died helping us defeat the Nazis.

It sounds like the shooting started in a cemetery and they ran into this food store.
Of the six people who died, one was Detective Joseph Seals, 40, who was married with five kids. The others killed included two of the three suspects in the case, as well as three civilians. A police officer was shot but will survive.
