Successful Heart Surgery Using Sound Waves Takes Place for First Time in Israel

JNS.org – A cardiac catheterization using sound waves was successfully performed for the first time in Israel on Sunday by the Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.

By Algemeiner, December 13, 2019:

Story continues below advertisement

The procedure was done to treat a complex case of severe arterial congestion, reported the Tazpit News Agency.

The 66-year-old patient had calcium build-up, and doctors used special equipment developed by SHOCKWAVE after a previously performed catheterization failed to help the issue.

The treatment consists of “the deployment of a tiny balloon filled with fluid and tiny balls at the point where there is a build-up of calcium within the artery,” according to Tazpit. “After the balloon is in place, sound waves are triggered to create a rapid movement of the balls which create cracks in the calcium inside the artery. The cracks allow for the elasticity of the artery and the insertion of a stent in the same location, without damaging the artery.”

This may help me. They discovered a tiny block behind a bundle of curved arteries which might use this
technique to clear the blockage. I also have arrhythmia and a damage valve which need repair and they say I’m too old and might not live thru the surgery.

They are looking to get rid of us….
We will keep you in our prayers.

Consider a second opinion by a doctor that VALUES life. The medical profession is not what it used to be.
Some doctors are still honorable and will help you and others view you through a biased political lens.
YOU ARE WORTH IT!

Also if you haven’t already, look closely at your diet. Cutting out stuff can also improve your health.
As for me, I avoid carbs, sugar and junk food. I no longer have an appetite them.. Do moderate exercise and be around people that love and care about you. It you like animals, have pets around. They can also have a calming influence. Please keep us posted. You are important.

By “us”, do you mean us old guys. I suspect we are right on the cusp of a “silent euthanasia” of the old through poor ‘health care’ of one means or another.

It is good you are still here, but I don’t say what I wrote with any lightness. 5G is rolling out worldwide soon, health concerns or not, and the abilities this will bring to automation of all sorts in many varied fields is the ‘dirty little secret’ hidden behind all the glamour of faster everything on all our devices. Automation aided by this will disrupt many segments of our manufacturing and even service based areas that currently employ many people. Many will be out of a job – it is a game changer.
Also, funding for pensions is at all time crisis levels and many have already seen their monthly stipends shredded, yet even worse is still to come when that funding runs even drier. Health care costs are ridiculous and providers will look to ways to reduce their outlays, especially in the aged population that statistically are the biggest users – at some point, a bureaucrat somewhere will start making life and death decisions based on an expanding, subjective criteria, and I have no doubt the common ‘old’ will be on that list.

You’ve got loonie leftists that propose humans are a cancer to “Mother Earth”, and are aggressively promoting contraception, abortion and euthanasia – even the Pope is fully on board (how’s that for a 180 swing), and tying it all into the quackery of a “climate emergency”.

An aging population that will transform from contributors to takers; a mismanaged, corrupted pension scheme that is starting to burst at it’s seams; a healthcare system that will increasingly look to cut operating expenses; and a workforce about to experience a game changing technology that will decimate their ranks. Now what demographic do you think they will collectively start looking at to cut costs and ‘save the planet’?

In the U.S. this is exactly what is happening:

Craig M. Wax, DO: Making a Killing in American Healthcare, A Step-by-Step Guide
By Dr. CRAIG M. WAX
3 Dec 2019

Do you want to be the highly-paid CEO of a hospital/“health” system?

Do you need to pay for a new $356 million medical campus?
Master this how-to guide and you’ll be on your way.

STEP 1: Have the local university use eminent domain to seize acreage for a huge campus and then sell that acreage to you.

STEP 2: Obtain donations for your charitable foundation, secure state grants, and float a loan on the taxpayers for your fabulous new facility.

STEP 3: Declare your company a “non-profit,” and eliminate your tax burden by shifting it onto the backs of taxpayers, thereby increasing the percentage of household income devoted to the cost of all things related to healthcare.

STEP 4: Turn as much of your workforce as possible into subcontractors by outsourcing day-to-day departmental functions to outside entities, such as lab work to Quest Diagnostics; and the emergency department to TeamHealth; and home care to Bayada; and inpatient services to neighboring health systems.

STEP 5: In response to a simple visit to the emergency room and overnight stay for observation, send a statement that show charges in the amount of the “Chargemaster” retail price ($23,000) to (a) government, (b) insurance, and (c) the patient.1
STEP 5a: If the bill is not paid by (a) government, or (b) insurance, send the bill to (c), the patient, for the full amount.

STEP 5b: If (c), the patient, cannot pay, alert “collections” of the need to recover the full amount.

STEP 5c: If (c), the patient, cannot pay and appeals the bill,

(i) designate the service as “charity care,”

(ii) reduce the patient’s bill to the real cost (say, $1,300), and

(iii) write off the difference as a loss so that the hospital/”health” system can get a huge tax break.

STEP 6: In response to the low allowable charges that Medicare and commercial insurance set for private medical practices, overbill Medicare and commercial insurance even while you, a hospital system, simultaneously collect exorbitant “facility fees” that are well above your actual costs.

STEP 7: Build and rent urgent-care and primary-care centers in every small town to push out the private physician offices who previously had privileges in your hospital/”health” system, and who functioned, effectively, as your staff. You won’t need those relationships anymore. Under the wildly misnamed Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (aka “Obamacare”), you’ve become an “ACO” (an Accountable Care Organization), an entity that has especially privileged status. You can now hire any physicians you may need as employees, while replacing a significant percentage of them with nurse practitioners, doctors of nursing practice, and physician’s assistants, who are cheaper.

STEP 8: Build an executive/administrative class from people with degrees in studying healthcare as a business and administrative specialty. After all, Medicare prohibits physicians from owning and operating hospitals. And who, among the public, understands that most of the money spent on “healthcare” in the United States doesn’t go to the people who deal directly and personally with the sick, but to an administrative class that outnumbers physicians by ten to one? I mean, it’s the consistent finding, isn’t it, of opinion poll after opinion poll that the public trusts administrators, health insurance companies, lawyers, and the politicians who create the public policy that favors them much more than they trust physicians? (NOTE: It’s possible that you can find such polls in an alternate universe. We’ll wait as you search for them.)

STEP 9: Pay your executives handsomely, like the CEO who receives $839,000 per year.

STEP 10: Finally, make provision for the unanticipated consequences that may arise from a new hospital that destroys rural towns in its vicinity.

Whether you’re a public or private hospital system, the foregoing has become standard operating procedure.

But for patients and for taxpayers in New Jersey, and everywhere else in the United States, it is the practice of legalized price gouging, and of making a killing under a system that has been thoroughly warped and corrupted by government public policy and by the rampant corporatizing of medical care in this country.

I suppose felix that I should have guessed it was already happening, but to hear of your ordeal and to read of the callousness that ‘administrators’ have towards costs vs patients and the pursuit of profits over care, as well as the systemic corruption, it becomes very discomforting when considering one’s own aging body. I agree 100% with as much prevention one can muster – it can never be overvalued. Be well my friend – growing old is not for the timid.

Older people and incompetent healthcare…. I’m an oldster too. I’d prefer you thought of me as being 21…All this “diversity” and foreign VISAs based on “identity politics” will never be superior to MERIT and intelligence regardless of what you look like or where you are from. You wouldn’t believe the number of MUSLIM doctors in NJ and foreigners.

Medical schools also admit by race and religion (Islam) but they will try to deny it. You are right, through one way or another, they will get rid of the oldsters. In NJ the DEMS passed assisted suicide. For your convenience and privacy, they make house calls.

I had a friend who had been on a certain drug for decades, worked great. He retired at 65 and the government over rode his doctor and he had to take a cheaper drug that did not work nearly as well. He pleaded to have his first drug NOPE it was to expensive. He died 6 months later.

Then perhaps you should find out all the details involved and the names of the surgeons; contact them, and see if you can be considered. It’s also possible that your cardiac MD needs to contact them for your sake. Get all the info ready for him/her. Good luck!

One of my favorite YouTube channels is Dr. Eric Berg. I highly recommend that people subscribe. He has lots of excellent and short videos of 5 minutes or less that address a variety of health needs through attention to diet. He also has an outstanding free app that has well organized playlists. There are other excellent health channels on YouTube. I think he is my favorite.

I am not familiar with him but I will look into him. Diet can really make a difference in many health situations. I spent some time in the pharmaceutical industry and the inside joke and some truth is to have each of us on at least 5 prescriptions. I’ve seen their raw date…. I don’t mind letting them capture the R&D costs and high salaries of people inventing new drugs and the hoops they go through to be approved by the FDA before it becomes generic but honestly the profit is beyond obscene. Also drugs that don’t make it have to be paid for… Yet I don’t want profit legislated … it’s a quandary.

The latest series the Doctor regenerates and is a woman, the Tardis is made over to be a bland all white box inside and that’s all I know about the series because I never watched a single episode. I don’t even know what she looked like or who she was but the series didn’t seem to actually make it past one or two episodes here in Oz before disappearing. Be interesting to see if there is a Christmas special this year.

This is a significant achievement. The condition is known as amyloidosis and is very difficult and expensive to treat and the prognosis is usually death within 3 years. This procedure could save millions of lives and replace the rather ineffective extremely expensive drugs normally prescribed. Another incredible Israeli achievement!
