Here We Go Again: Pensacola Muslims Fear “Backlash” After Jihad Massacre

The Pensacola News Journal was first out of the gate this time around with what is a recurring feature of establishment media coverage of jihad attacks: the follow-up weeper about how the local Muslims are shocked (Shocked!) by the massacre, and are now cowering in fear of an “anti-Muslim backlash.” That backlash rarely, if ever, materializes, but when has the media ever allowed reality to intrude upon a good narrative?
Story continues below advertisementThe News Journal interviewed Salma Ashmawi of the Islamic Center of Northwest Florida, and Ashmawi hit all the expected notes, asking: “What can anybody do in a case like that except pray?” Ashmawi added, said the News Journal, that “the mosque’s membership is also raising money to help the victims.” She said: “We are all Pensacola residents. We’re hurt and we’re in mourning.”
Amid all this pious magnanimity, Ashmawi also remembered to play the victim: she “said parents who usually take their children to Sunday school at the mosque are planning to keep their children home this week out of fear they will become targets of backlash aimed against Muslims.”
Ashmawi explained: “I’m getting a lot of people telling me they’re not coming. Even teachers are not bringing their children. If the teacher doesn’t mind, her husband is like, ‘No absolutely not. You have no idea what people are saying out there, and I don’t want my kids to get hurt.’”
Nonetheless, the Muslims of Pensacola will bravely soldier on: Ashmawi told the News Journal that the Sunday school service would be held as usual, and would, of course, focus on the victims: “For the ones who come, we’ll use that time to talk about unity and standing by anybody who is injured or hurt. And how something like this unacceptable just like any crime. It was murder. It’s a crime. It is unacceptable. We are in a civil society. We don’t do things like that.”
No claim that Muslims were the real victims would be complete without a bit of moral equivalence, so Ashmawi “said what the shooter did was an act against God and against humanity, though she added that Christians don’t have to live in fear or face calls to apologize every time someone claiming to be a Christian does something wrong.” She did not, of course, mention the fact that jihad murderers quite often scream “Allahu akbar” while killing infidels, while Christian criminals don’t generally invoke Jesus while in the midst of their evildoing.

What in the world did they expect would happen? I remember the San Bernadino father of the two Muslim killers in an interview admitted his son had some issues and told him to relax and do nothing because we are SELF DESTRUCTING from within. Then he shut up and didn’t give any more interviews. He is right. Just look at the impeachment sham and how
corrupt the FBI, DOJ, etc. are. If we don’t have a MAJOR clean up and prosecutions at HIGH levels

Tom, a free society will necessarily accept the existence of those who oppose the very freedoms that make their (the opponents) existence possible. The best analogy I can come up with is in the 1950’s, into the 1960’s, the USA made no effort to rid of nation of its biggest perceived threat- Communists- although they were constrained in various ways (For example, I think no security clearances and in many states they could not teach in gummint skools. Oh yeah, and no immigration).
We would do well to apply to Moslems the standards previous generations applied to Communists. But we cannot remain a free society while forbidding adherence to the ideology of Islam.
Unfortunately, the second sentence of yours quoted above is all to true.

It’s impossible to surveil thousands of mosques 24-7. Who’s going to do it? Law enforcement has enough on their plate w/street gangs, islamic terrorism and day-to-day normal crime to spend their time staking out mosques 24-7.

Proper vetting goes a long, long way.
Canada is now experiencing the results of a lax Liberal government which wants to make kissy-kissy with every claimant from around the world just on their say-so that they are oppressed and need refugee status.
Don’t allow people in from terror countries until a better plan is in place.

Our FBI gave the Tsarnaev family a clean bill of health under Comey who headed the FBI and Obama was President and look what happened. Prior to Comey was Robert Mueller who headed the FBI under Bush and eliminated Muslim terrorist information and training because CAIR objected to it. To hell with her and the bad day she came to my country. No moslem is ‘good’, or even neutral. They are moslems, and that is the problem.
The backlash is coming…I look forward to the day. I believe they, at some point, moslems will become the objects of a bounty until every single one is eradicated like the vermin they are. There are more and more people whose lives have been impacted by some ‘jihadi’ (read, inbred murderous cretin) all the time. There was a report on a uk news channel yesterday about the “re-training” camps where the Chinese make the muzrats attend to rid them of their muz sickness and it sadly appeared that the Chinese were bowing to the western politically correct attitude and making all sorts of unnecessary excuses instead of just being honest and saying we want to cure our citizens of the disease of islam.

The difference between the people’s of Burma/ Myanmar and the west is that they haven’t been weakened by the pc virus that is running rife in the west.

I’ve noticed that Muslims always try to paint themselves as victims after they’ve committed some atrocity. So now they’re claiming that they’re scared of an “anti-Muslim backlash” after the Jersey City massacre? Well, boo-hoo-hoo! Let them stay scared.
