House Committee Passes Bill to Monitor Jew-Hatred in Palestinian Textbooks

The House Foreign Affairs Committee unanimously passed a bipartisan bill on Wednesday that seeks to hold the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) accountable for the textbooks it uses in Palestinian schools.
Story continues below advertisementHR2343, also called the Peace and Tolerance in Palestinian Education Act, requires the State Department to submit annual reports reviewing the content of the educational materials used by the UNRWA and the Palestinian Authority. The bill was brought forth in a bipartisan effort by Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA) and Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY)
CBN News previously reported that UNRWA textbooks often include anti-Semitic beliefs and incites Palestinian children to violence instead of peacemaking with their Jewish neighbors.

UN Condemns Palestinian Racism in ‘Unprecedented’ Hearing, PLO Leaders Blame Israel Instead“The new Palestinian curriculums fail to meet the international standards of peace and tolerance in educational materials established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization,” the bill states. “Textbooks used by the Palestinian Authority and UNRWA encourage war, and teach children that Palestinian statehood can be achieved through violence.”
The measure was created after the Institute for Monitoring Peace and Cultural Tolerance in School Education (IMPACT-se) released a report that studied the inclusion or exclusion of the peace and tolerance values in textbooks in schools across the Middle East, including Israel and the Palestinian territories.
“We are delighted that Rep. Brad Sherman and Rep. Lee Zeldin have taken firm leadership roles on the eradication of hate in Palestinian textbooks and that the House Foreign Affairs Committee unanimously voted for it to be marked up,” IMPACT-se CEO, Marcus Sheff, said in a statement.
“This bill will effectively determine whether US tax dollars have gone to fund – directly or indirectly – the PA curriculum and will inform Congress about the state of Palestinian textbooks if the US government plans any future funding of education programs in the Palestinian Authority,” he added.
The US decided to stop funding to UNRWA more than a year ago.
Danny Danon, Israel’s Ambassador to the UN, applauded the decision.
“We see the incitement, we see what they are doing in the camps. They are not helping the Palestinians,” Danon told CBN News.
“Unfortunately today when a Palestinian child, when he goes to the UNRWA school, he comes out hating Jews, incited, supporting Hamas. It shouldn’t be that funding from Western societies, Western democracies will support such curriculum.

What next; Talib and Omar as co-chairs of the committee, with AOC and Presley also on the committee?
It would have meant more if this committee existed before UNRAW funding was stopped and used as the reason for zero funds.

This is a cosmetic treatment for a dangerous and spreading disease. It does not even scratch the surface. Here is what must be required: Any funding of any Muslim aligned government or agency must include and require the explicit denunciation of Jew and Christian hatred by fhe recipient. No tax exemption should be allowed for any Muslim facility in the USA unless the this explicit and binding denunciation is fully complied with. The exemption once granted can be removed should any imam violate the standards and their textbooks and teaching materials must be in full compliance. The same requirement must also be instituted fro any Muslim granted a visa to enter the USA for any purpose whatsoever. I do not think this too onerous a requirement for the “religion of peace.” Why would they object?

If this was attempted the hew and cry would be “islamophobia” and racism. They would be screaming this right up until their neck is slit open by one of these peace lovers.
I once had a graduate student from Syria tell me that his tradition was not to turn your back when saying goodbye; they would take a step or two back so they wouldn’t be stabbed in the back by the other. I was absolutely shocked by this admission.

Of course there would be fierce opposition to this proposal,but is it too much for “the religion of peace”to denounce certain precepts of their religion which advocate unrestrained savage violence against those we do not share their beliefs?” Not only do I believe a large majority of voters would accept this proposal, but I believe it would be a winning political strategy for any candidtate local or federal.

Passed a bill, Huh? Means absolutely nothing to the Palestinians and the UNRWA. They care nothing for American laws. They never will and the lawmakers know it. This ‘bill’ was just for public consumption never to be enforced.
