Group of 17 Democrat Party Congress members calls for reducing US sanctions on Iran

Naturally the jihad Rep. Ilhan Omar is leading the charge to reduce sanctions on the Islamic Republic of Iran.  Iran is the world’s leading sponsor of terrorism. Iran’s leaders threaten to annihilate America’s greatest ally Israel. They finance terror around the world. They jail and butcher their own citizens. They persecute Christians. They subjugate Iranian women. They hang homosexuals from cranes. The list goes on and on. Yet the Democrats want Iran’s leaders to have more money, which they will use to inflict unimaginable havoc. The Democrat Party is evil.

Group of 17 Congress members calls for reducing US sanctions on Iran

In a letter to Treasury Secretary Mnuchin, the lawmakers, led by Reps. Ilhan Omar, Raúl M. Grijalva and Barbara Lee, urge the administration to “conduct a sweeping review” of the sanctions campaign.

By JNS, December 21, 2019:

Seventeen members of Congress, led by Reps. Raúl M. Grijalva (D-Ariz.), Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) and Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin on Tuesday calling on the administration to dramatically reduce its sanctions against Iran, which Omar characterized as “economic warfare.”

The letter focuses on the impact the sanctions are having on Iranians’ access to medicine, stating that while Iran manufactures 97 percent of its medicine domestically, it depends on foreign imports for the rest.

“We strongly urge the Administration to conduct a sweeping review of its sanctions campaign against Iran and identify and implement the necessary adjustments required to fulfill responsibilities under international law, as ordered by the ICJ [International Court of Justice] in October 2018, to protect the Iranian people’s right to health,” wrote the lawmakers.

The lawmakers argue in the letter that while the administration has taken steps to ensure that the sanctions do not interfere with humanitarian aid, they are not sufficient.
