Horowitz: FBI Created ‘Fraudulent Evidence’ In Investigation, Implies ‘Illegal Surveillance’

By Ryan Saavedra, DailyWire.com, December 11, 2019:

Justice Department Inspector General (IG) Michael Horowitz confirmed during his testimony in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday that the FBI used fraudulent evidence that it created as the basis for a sworn statement to the United States Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court that it used to obtain a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act application to surveil the Trump campaign during the 2016 presidential election.

“A lawyer at the FBI creates fraudulent evidence, alters an email that is in turn used as the basis for a sworn statement to the court that the court relies on,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said. “Am I stating that accurately?”

“That’s correct,” Horowitz confirmed. “That’s what occurred.”

The IG report found: “In an email from the liaison to the OGC Attorney, the liaison provided written guidance, including that it was the liaison’s recollection that Page had a relationship with the other agency, and directed the OGC Attorney to review the information that the other agency had provided to the FBI in August 2016. As noted above, that August 2016 information stated that Page did, in fact, have a prior relationship with that other agency. However, the OGC Attorney altered the liaison’s email by inserting the words ‘not a source’ into it, thus making it appear that the liaison had said that Page was “not a source”; the OGC Attorney then sent the altered email to SSA 2. Relying upon this altered email, SSA 2 signed the third renewal application (that again failed to disclose Page’s past relationship with the other agency).”

Earlier during the hearing, Horowitz essentially implied to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham that what the FBI did was tantamount to “illegal surveillance.”

Here’s the interaction between Graham and Horowitz:

Graham: Let’s play this out. They never told Trump about the concerns, is it fair to say there came a point to where surveilling Carter Page became unlawful?

Horowitz: I will let the court decide that. The court has this report and will make that decision.

Graham: Let’s put it this way, if you don’t have a legal foundation to surveil somebody and you keep doing it, is that bad?

Horowitz: Absolutely.

Graham: Is that spying?

Horowitz: ‘It’s illegal surveillance, it’s not court authorized surveillance.

Graham: What ever illegal surveillance means, they did it. … They had no legal basis after the January 2017 data dump by the Russian guy to believe that the dossier was reliable. They alter exculpatory information in June of 2017 that would have further proven that Carter Page is not a Russian agent and he was actually working with the CIA.

On Tuesday, Attorney General William Barr told NBC News that “in January, after the election, the entire case collapsed when the principal source says ‘I never told — I never told Steele this stuff and this was also speculation and I have zero information to support this stuff.’ At that point, when their entire case collapsed, what do they do? They kept on investigating the president well into his administration, after the case collapsed.”

Barr continued, “But here to me is the damning thing: They not only didn’t tell the court that what they had been relying on was completely, you know, rubbish, they actually started putting in things to bolster this Steele report by saying, ‘we talked to the sources and they appeared to be truthful,’ but they don’t inform the court that what they’re truthful about is that the dossier is false.”

But Horowitz sees NO POLITICAL BIAS!

Michael Horowitz found intense bias against Trump in the FBI. He just refused to call it that
by Eddie Scarry
December 10, 2019 02:30 PM

It’s laughable for Inspector General Michael Horowitz to assert in his report that he found no political bias in the FBI’s spying of President Trump’s 2016 campaign. Of course he did. He simply refused to call it by its name.

Horowitz inexplicably stated early in his report that his office “did not find documentary or testimonial evidence that political bias or improper motivation influenced the FBI’s decision” to begin surveilling Trump campaign associate Carter Page back in 2016.

(Can I help? Horowitz is an OBAMA APPOINTEE!)

Yet, just three pages later, the report says that Horowitz’s investigation found seven times where FBI agents relied on “inaccurate, incomplete, or unsupported” information in order to continually seek re-authorization for the surveillance of Page and others in the campaign.

(Guess who signed those renewal FISA warrants? Deputy AG, Rod Rosenstein! Yes the one that was thinking about wearing a wire to set Trump up for the 25th Amendment. He ran the show after Session recused himself.)

Meanwhile, my CNN/MSNBC relatives are still chuckling over the phone as if the impeachment wasn’t fake.
Left-wing McCarthyism is arguably even more insidious since the press helps it.

TD-

I don’t know why you’d call the impeachment “fake”. Trump likely will be impeached, albeit not convicted. But pressuring Ukraine the way he did was not just wrong, but egregiously so, and he has damaged his presidency by doing what he did. The right wing blogosphere would gone ballistic if Obama had tried something similar- saying dangling the prospect of not providing promised military assistance to Israel until the Israeli AG launched some investigation into a political opponent.

The FISA court abomination and illegal surveillance of Trump’s team in no way justifies Trump’s actions. It is rather depressing though to realize that had Hillary won the election, the FBI’s shenanigans would have been safely hidden from the light of day.

I hope Ted Cruz, Graham and the other Senate Republicans will match the passion and effectiveness of the House Republicans like Devin Nunes;

defend the President and Constitution from this coup d’tat.

LOL!
BOTH are part of the swamp.

They will only step up if it makes THEM look good.

Cruz in particular is as phony as they come. Two faced Graham at least tries to keep people fooled.

HOW CAN THIS BE?

DOJ IG Michael Horowitz: Bruce Ohr Still Working at Justice Department
By KRISTINA WONG
11 Dec 2019

Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz said Wednesday that Bruce Ohr, a senior Justice Department official under scrutiny due to his unusual role in the FBI’s investigation of the Trump campaign, still works at the Justice Department.

Horowitz on Monday released a report that confirmed that Ohr, unbeknownst to his superiors at the DOJ, acted as a go-between for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and ex-British spy Christopher Steele, author of the “pee dossier,” after the FBI fired Steele as a source.

The report said Ohr had known Steele since at least 2007, and the two began discussing information Steele collected on the Trump campaign beginning in July 2016. After the FBI fired Steele as a source in October 2016, due to his sharing the information with the media, Ohr continued to consult with him.

According to the report, Ohr and Steele met at least 13 times after Steele was fired. After each conversation, Ohr would be interviewed by the FBI, so that he could pass on Steele’s information to the FBI. The FBI was aware and approved of the arrangement, but the DOJ — who would later receive and review Steele’s information — was not aware of the arrangement.

The DOJ was also unaware that Ohr’s wife’s had worked as a researcher for Fusion GPS, the same firm that Steele was working for and that was paid by the DNC and the Hillary Clinton campaign.

Horowitz seems to be a hard evidence man, as he indicated he limited his investigation to only what he believed he had jurisdiction to investigate, but with the totality of the facts now known, I really wonder if he was asked privately whether his opinion would conclude that the conduct of the FBI was politically motivated, I suspect he is just to bright a guy to not recognize that.To see it any other way is to be wearing blinders. I suspect that his failure to include that conclusion in his report was based on his concern that it would exacerbate the present divisiveness that exists and he did not want to have that happen.

Though Horowitz’s report did a good job of pointing out the obvious, it failed miserably in its assessments of culpability.

It is worthless. It’s like those true-false tests from junior high, if any part of the statement is false, the whole thing is false.

To me Horowitz is either a coward or a deep state traitor for how he did not find massive bias in the FBI is beyond belief. The fact he was picked by Obama might be a clue. Remember “The stench of Trump supporters” and “first we f_ck Flynn and then we f_ck Trump”?

I suspect (I hope I am wrong) but the Deep State will once again evade justice.
Even Occasional Cortex with her room temperature IQ can see that this one big charade run by the anti-American Democrat party suffering from terminal TDS. I must be living in the Twilight Zone,

It reminds me this movie : “the torture report”, where to autorise/legalize torture(E.I.T) you must have it working and then they negate/eliminate anyone who prove it wrong.
So here, only one conclusion is possible, they all did their job perfectly and if there is bias, it is not coming from them since they did a perfect job.

The Horowitz report is better than I ever thought it would be. One needs to remember WHO APPOINTED Mr. Horowitz. One of the DEEP STATE ACTORS who is no longer in government.
