Chanukah is important for Christians to know about too as it commemorates the Maccabees Levite Priesthood that stopped the Syrian-Greco Pagan suppression of the worship of the “Unknown G-d”(no physical image) of Ha-Shem (The Blessed Name) of Moses and led the fight to become the last Kings of Israel to really enforce the Mosaic Covenant of Levitical Judaism before the advent of Rabbinical Judaism that was gaining ground at the time of the Coming of Jesus the Messianic Rabbi or Teacher!
The Maccabean Age was the last golden age of the free, last, Levitical Kingdom of the Jews! It’s monument was the last Jewish Temple that was one of the 10 great Wonders of the World that Rabbinical Judaism had a role in destroying when the hopelessly outnumbered Rabbinically dominated Jewish Revolt from Rome in Jerusalem rejected Gen. At the time of 70 AD, the Rabbinical Jews had overthrown the Levitical control of the Temple turning it into a military center using its high roof as a center for catapults that Gen. The Palestinians claims to Israel would have been a mute point and most Jews in the world would have been still in modern, Levitically influenced Israel throughout the ages had Gen Josephus been listened to as well! In his own way, Gen Josephius is like PM Netanyahu, an older commander who beat the Romans many times in small battles but who saw very clearly the reality of what had to happen for the Jews to survive in their homeland but who as the messenger of political reality ended up having to deal with Rabbinical, civilian political revolutionaries who cared less about the Temples than their own vision of a Rabbinical Utopia!
