Twitter BANS all political advertisements from platform

Leftwing totalitarianism. Terrible. America, where for art thou, America?

Freedom of speech is the foundation of a free society. Without it, a tyrant can wreak havoc unopposed, while his opponents are silenced.

Twitter bans all political advertisements from platform

Bt FOX Business, October 30,2019:

AN FRANCISCO (AP) — Twitter is banning all political advertising from its service, saying social media companies give advertisers an unfair advantage in proliferating highly targeted, misleading messages.

Facebook has taken fire since it disclosed earlier in October that it will not fact-check ads by politicians or their campaigns, which could allow them to lie freely. CEO Mark Zuckerberg told Congress last week that politicians have the right to free speech on Facebook.

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey tweeted the change Wednesday, saying the company is recognizing that advertising on social media offers an unfair level of targeting compared to other mediums.

Who determines what is acceptable “political” speech? Twitter? Facebook? Google? Who elected them to be arbiters of free political speech?

No “political” speech in the “public forum” or else what? Shadowbanning? Censorship? Ostracism? That’s not a public forum, it’s a techno fascist ghetto where “wrong speech” is effectively silenced.

Hillary Clinton wholeheartedly supports Twitter’s ban on political ads. That’s all you need to know as to which side is calling the shots – and the fact that Twitter was definitely leaned on before they made their decision. And she’s now calling on Facebook to do the same.

Hillary would have been completely bad news for free speech (never mind every other aspect of life) had she, G-d forbid, stolen the 2016 election. I remember vividly back in 2000 when she was running for the U.S. Senate in New York upon Pat Moynihan’s retirement. A Jewish activist group had two programs Sunday evenings on a Manhattan public-access cable channel – and they had been on her case on everything from her pro-Arab policies to her liplocking Suha Arafat. (Indeed, they had branded her as “Hillary Sodom Arafat.”) When she attended the Salute to Israel Day Parade that year, members of that group continuously booed and heckled her as she was walking along the parade route. In retaliation, Hillary pulled strings with Manhattan Borough President C. Virginia Fields (who oversaw the public access channels in that borough) to remove those shows from the schedule. So even then she was pro-censorship.

During her 2016 campaign, her henchpeople even sought to force the Los Angeles-based Laugh Factory to take down a video on their website in which several comedians associated with that club criticized Hillary. One of the people who worked there at the time compared Hillary’s demands to Soviet Russia and rightly condemned the metastasizing political correctness that has been systematically destroying our freedoms for the last three+ decades.

Twitter bans political ads? If you replace “political ads” with “bots / NPCs” it all makes better sense. The difference between posts vs ads is that ads “guarantee positive exposure”. Marxist Suckerbook “knows” most of his users are either “dumb f#©k$” / bots / NPC’s. In 2017, Facebook “disabled” more than half of it’s “users” but share price kept going up; Facebook investors “gambled” that money for “ads” was going to flow in for US 2018 midterm elections to “re-enable” the “users”.

So now George Soros’ front groups and the Demoncrat National Committee will have all their paid trolls hammering out political speech on their thousands of “private” tweeter Accounts.
Just pull the plug on the whole electronic cesspool.

Dorsey views everything coming ftom Trump as GOP politicized. This move is President Donald Trump Dorsey is doing this to justify banning Trump from using Twitter – that’s all this is about – no one else. If it stops Trump from commenting then Dorsey is satisfied even if it destroys Twitter.

Where is the FCC?FTC?DOJ?Congress? Senate? Trump Administration? Legal Foundations? Heritage? Koch? Even the ACLU? The traditional American position has been that politicians have responsibility for their ads, not the media, and responsibility to respond to lies from their opponents–not that media must censor ads to protect politicians. If someone lies about Joe Biden or Donald Trump, they are free to respond–which they certainly can do. I have been terribly disappointed by Administration’s failure to deal with with issue, and abdication on part of GOP. We got PBS/NPR to do better than this in 1990s and it’s pretty much the same situation–GOP bigwigs must be on Twitter payroll to allow this disaster to continue. Political speech is supposed to be the most protected speech–not the least. Should be a top priority going into election year, especially as Twitter censors Trump supporters, apparently without any penalty.
