President Trump very promptly dismissed the bogus story by the Leftist publication Politico. It seems that members of the anti-Israel Obama administration were behind this false story. It is not a coincidence that such a story would leak right before an Israeli election. Obama officials have a history of trying to take down PM Netanyahu on the eve of Israeli elections.
Israelis who are thinking of voting against Netanyahu next week, need to understand who Israel’s enemies are. The anti-Israel Left in the United States will be overjoyed if Netanyahu is defeated on September 17th. That is because Israel will be a much weaker country should Netanyahu lose to the Leftist Blue and White Party.
Trump: ‘I don’t think the Israelis were spying on us’

US President Donald Trump said on Thursday he did not believe Israel was spying on the United States, dismissing a media report claiming Israel was most likely behind cellphone surveillance devices found near the White House and elsewhere in Washington.
Politico reported the miniature surveillance devices, colloquially known as “StingRays,” were discovered and that they were most likely linked to the Israelis. Israel has denied the report.
“I don’t believe the story. I don’t think the Israelis were spying on us, I would find that hard to believe,” Trump told reporters on the White House lawn. “My relationship with Israel has been great. You look at the [recognition of Israeli sovereignty on] the Golan Heights, moving the embassy to Jerusalem, even what’s happening with Iran; Iran is a much different country than it was two and a half years ago. Anything is possible, but I don’t believe it.”
It is unclear when the devices were planted and how the alleged Israeli connection was established. The report was based on two former senior US officials, although it is unclear what administration they worked for.
According to the Politico report, “The devices were likely intended to spy on President Donald Trump, one of the former officials said, as well as his top aides and closest associates – though it’s not clear whether the Israeli efforts were successful.”
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dismissed the report outright, saying on Thursday that the accusation was an “absolute lie.” Netanyahu’s office has stressed that Israel was in full compliance with its longstanding pledge not to engage in espionage in the United States.

I doubt that they were spying on Trump. Trump is a blunt straight shooter and has a long history of being a FRIEND to Israel prior to being President. Frankly even if Israel was spying on us in the Obama years – could you blame
them? I wouldn’t. Obama was spying on them! I doubt there is a country out there with the capability of spying that isn’t spying on other countries. YES countries do spy on each other because many countries are very dishonest!

Even Pro-Israel defender Alan Dershowitz stated:
A country that doesn’t gather information can’t survive and doesn’t deserve to survive… We (the US/Canada) have to gauge the intentions of other governments. including allies, the intentions of the state of israel, and others.

Obama was the leader of the deep state and still directs many of their evil activities making them the enemy of free people all over the world. be quite stupid if they didn’t. Israel does not sit at the intersection of
three continents (and races) for nothing. So you can easily control
the data strings. Actually an insult to Jewish intelligence. Or an ad-
mission of his own naivity? Of course not, because he knows exactly
what fact is. Angela Merkel has also claimed that she does not believe
that the NSA is listening to her mobile phone. Apart from the fact that
espionage has always been the order of the day. China, for example,
steals billions every year through industrial espionage. Anyone who
doesn’t spy has missed the train of time and is doomed to play at the
most a subordinate role in the history of the world. Any fool knows.

If U.S. tech companies are actively spying on U.S. citizens, and the FBI & CIA were actively spying on President Trump, then why is it “bad” if Israel or Russia or China is spying on the U.S.? Seriously. It’s just a bit confusing, morally, isn’t it?

A gentleman who lives in Jeruselum but is up to date on what goes on in the US doesn’t believe Israel was spying on the President: “Back in July of 2017 Daniel Lipman, the author of the article in question, did a puff piece for Politico on Joel Benenson.
Benenson is a political operative who has worked for both Obama and Clinton and has recently been hired by the Israeli ” Blue and White Party ” headed by Benny Gantz.
Benenson may have asked former Obama officials, , who would love to see Netanyahu defeated, to help put forward the narrative that Israel was spying on the President and help orchestrate the story using Lipman as his mouthpeice.
Lipman’s article is full of uncooroborated inuendo and speculation. A big nothing burger.
The reason for this? Embarass Netanyahu before the upcomming September 17th election. Now is all that true? Time will definately tell.”
There is also the story of the FBI using stingrays to spy on a US Citizen:
The FBI used stingray back in 2005: “the Hacker” was found out through the warrantless use of a secretive surveillance technology known as a stingray.” Its not as though only Israel uses these devices.

Granted, no country fully trusts another country,. The main mission of any intel community of any country is to look after your own.
However, considering what Israel went through in the past administration and other administrations which were not favorable toward Israel, I would not fault them in looking out for their own interests and protection. Obama and his ilk and many people hidden in this administration’s inner circles are not friends of Israel..
I don’t think Israel is spying on the Trump admin, per se, but looking our for their own interests in the face of previous antics by former American administrations..

He should have demanded the intel services provide him with any evidence that the devices were placed by Israelis and lacking any evidence, say that all intel agencies could find no evidence therefore it was fake news that named them. i would not be surprised if the deep state did not plant fake evidence though.
