Personally I think that these pathetic, arrogant Westerners who go to Muslim countries deserve what happens to them! It would be a great thing for Western countries if these idiots remain in prison and get their stupid, arrogant and delusional heads chopped off!

The fact that this dope, a doctor (LOL!!!), with the hyphenated last name is supposedly a specialist in Middle East politics is hysterical!!! Obviously not too bright and being that she’s with a university accurately reflects the pathetic state of academia these days!

A teacher once told me, “I make the information available to the students, it’s up to them to learn it.” While many teachers are heroes, not all of them are paragons of virtue. Too many people still make it through the public school system functionally illiterate. Propaganda has certainly been on the side of the teachers for the past decade or so…if only “we” were on the side of the students.

My experiences in education would fill a book and many would be beyond belief.
The ‘propaganda’ as you call it has been on the side of the students and their carers for the past 50 years. The textbooks I worked with gradually became more and more simplistic with every new publication. More pictures – less text and information.
Eventually I had to write and print my own worksheets to be able to raise the standard.
Last I heard they were being copied and distributed across the region by staff with similar concerns to mine.
There are plenty of vacancies in the teaching sphere for those who would like to show how it should be done and ‘make a difference’.

If she’s a specialist on the Middle East, and doesn’t understand how they treat women there, then it sounds like her “degree” is about as worthwhile as A.O.C.’s economics’ degree.

Actually, the vast majority do speak Arabic. Even though Farsi is their indigenous/native tongue and is the preferred language by most “loyal” Iranians. Arabic is very quickly taking over from Farsi. Many of the books used to teach the young ones in schools are in Arabic now as well. There is a method to the madness. Destroy the language and it goes a long way to destroying the history.

utter nonsense. Arabic is spoken by the arab minorities. The Persians look down on arabs. Why would the ”vast majority” take their language? They certainly don’t use that alphabet.

I guess ‘expertise’ is easier to come by these days, especially given affirmative action.

You arrogant, conceited, self righteous little hypocrite. Small minded people like you make me sick. Do some research instead of relying on some tawdry Wiki comments. I know exactly 22 Iran expats. One is a University Professor in Ottawa Canada. As well, 4 family friends whom have immigrated to Israel from Iran. They ALL speak Pharsi and Arabic. It is they whom have enlightened me that the “educated, elite class” all speak only Pharsi among their peers. BUT, were quick to emphasize that the vast majority of Iran people speak Arabic very well indeed. Their “PREFERENCE” is Pharsi. The very least that you could have done, before babbling your nonsense was to have found an Iran expat or immigrant and asked them.

mackykam

Well, I certainly was right! your ‘affirmative action expertise’ is reliant on 22 educated, elite ex-pats, whose language preference is for their native Farsi. Can Urdu, or Pushtan be far behind?

PS: most euros speak more than one language…that doesn’t make their native one a preference.

I think your being so ‘broad minded’ has caused your brains to fall out. And to think you have the vote….

Let’s compare: How many times have you visited the Middle East? Let me guess….”0″. You are very very F-ING stupid. Want to talk Europeans? I live in Ukraine most of the year. I travel all over Europe, frequently. I speak Russian, Ukraine, English French and just enough German to get in trouble. And you simpleton, every single person in the countries that I have visited ALL preferred to speak their native/indigenous tongue and proudly so. You need to get out of the little village you hide in and educate yourself. You are humiliating yourself to such a degree that you are making yourself a laughing stock.

Bully for you speaking all those languages. You can come across as stupid in all of them.
Whereas I don’t speak speak Russian or Ukrainian I do speak, read and write English, German, Hebrew, Yiddisch fluently. English because I was raised here; German because I am a born Berliner, son of a born Berliner. Hebrew and Yiddisch is my religious and cultural heritage.

Pray enlighten this reading audience. Just how do you manage to say ‘phuque me’ in your smattering of German ? I know your French extends to ‘voulez vous coucher avec moi.’

I may have offered a moldy sandwich to a homeless black guy, lol. I’m certain it can’t match your offer to keep him warm in your bed overnight.

Well said. The Aussie Government are gutless spineless cowards whom have lost the pride in their power. Every single time I hear of a “kidnapping” incident by one of these fascist scum governments I think of the days of Roosevelt and the Perdicaris incident in Morocco. Portrayed in the movie, “The Wind And The Lion” with Sean Connery. A bit of a theatrical exaggeration, but still, based on the true story. The US sent in the Marines, simply over a kidnapping. This was when the US and Britain had a pride in it’s power and protected their people abroad. Unlike the limp wrist-ed pussies running things now.

Not exactly sure why this is news. Where people choose to go on vacation is not the responsibility of the government or the citizens of their home country.
