Rashida Tlaib’s Grandmother: ‘I Hope God Will Destroy Trump’
By David Israel, Jewish Press, August 18, 2019:
While most of us spent the Sabbath day in meditation and good eating, the rest of the world apparently learned first-hand what it’s like to do business with “Palestinians”.
In the span of a day, Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich) was banned from entering Israel on account of wanting to ban Israel; then she asked to be permitted a visit just to see her grandmother who is 90; then Interior Minister Aryeh Deri issued her an entry, provided she sign a document where she commits to avoid political disturbances while visiting; then she signed and gave it over; then she changed her mind because visiting without supporting the annihilation of the Jewish State would have meant her spiritual death – in short, she did the Palestinian yes/no shake just like the late Yassir Arafat did in his negotiations with PM Ehud Barak and then with PM Ehud Olmert.
On Saturday, Reuters interviewed Muftia Tlaib in her village of Beit Ur Al-Fauqa, and wished destruction on President Donald Trump (Hey, stand in line, lady, there are millions of Democrats and then millions of Iranians ahead of you).
“Trump tells me I should be happy Rashida is not coming,” Granny Tlaib told the nice people from Reuters who came to her village, “May God destroy him.”
Rashida’s uncle Bassam Tlaib, told Reuters the old lady was going to slaughter a sheep and make stuffed grape leaves for her granddaughter.
Did anyone tell her it was Rashida who finally cancelled the visit?
The left was pushing a clear anti-Israel narrative, seeing as Tlaib and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn) are the first US lawmakers ever to be refused entry to Israel.
But, of course, no visiting US lawmaker has ever come to Israel with the expressed intention to promote a boycott against Israel. It stood to reason that she who wishes to boycott should expect some boycotting in return.
Many in the media, both news and social, suggested not allowing in the two exceptionally hateful women was somehow anti-Democratic. Does democracy mean turning the other cheek? Wrong religion, folks.
Truth be told, Prime Minister Netanyahu and his ambassador to DC, Ron Dermer, had every intention of letting the two in, but then it’s believed that Trump put the pressure on Bibi, and Bibi needs Trump’s support this election campaign month, so what would you have done in his place?
Of course it didn’t help that their anti-Israel itinerary was exposed.

Trump wants to turn Tlaib and Omar into the silent Democratic candidate for vice president, and bash the Dems with the 17 anti-Semites in Congress, while a huge majority of Democrats are as pro-Israel as anyone. In fact, they’ve been pro-Israel since way before President Bush I cut off aid to bring home Soviet Jews over his fight with Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir.
As usual, the only sound thinker in the room was House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Ca) who declared: “We have a deep relationship and long-standing relationship with Israel that can withstand Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu. We cannot let their weaknesses stand in the way of our ongoing relationship.”
Still, this scandal will likely continue well into next week. According to McClatchy, a dozen Democratic lawmakers, including senior Jewish members, want to communicate their “deep lack of confidence and trust” in Ambassador Dermer, and US ambassador to Israel, David Friedman.
Apparently, Dermer told Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md) that, “out of respect for the US Congress and the great alliance between Israel and America, we would not deny entry to any Member of Congress into Israel.”
Which was the plan, until the their anti-Israel itinerary was exposed, and President Trump added in his two-cents.
The angry Democrats include Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Eliot Engel (NY), and Appropriations Committee Chairwoman Nita Lowey (NY), who both stood at Mt. Sinai with the rest of us. Hoyer said Israel’s decision on Tlaib and Omar was “deeply disappointing,” “disrespectful,” “unacceptable” and a “self-inflicted wound” on the US-Israel alliance.
It’ll all be over by New Hampshire. We hope.
