The Ontario Court of Appeal has ordered a new trial for Raed Jaser, left, and Chiheb Esseghaier. The men were found guilty on terror-related charges in connection with a plot to derail a passenger train.
Ontario’s highest court has granted a new trial for two men who were found guilty of terrorism charges after being accused of plotting to derail a Via Rail passenger train in the Greater Toronto Area.
The Court of Appeal for Ontario ordered Tuesday that the 2015 convictions of Raed Jaser and Chiheb Esseghaier be set aside.
A new trial was ordered.
The pair had argued in court earlier this year that the judge who oversaw the case made several errors, including in rejecting their request as to the method of jury selection.
Jaser and Esseghaier were found guilty in 2015 on a total of eight terror-related charges between them. They were originally sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole until 2023.
The men were arrested in 2013, following a cross-border investigation that involved Canadian and American law enforcement.
RCMP said at the time the two accused were plotting to derail a passenger train. Police said in 2013 that the two men watched trains and railways in the Greater Toronto Area.
The Toronto judge who presided over their trial found both men had not renounced their extremists beliefs, nor had they accepted responsibility for their offences.
Police said in 2013 that Jaser and Esseghaier were getting “direction and guidance” from al-Qaeda elements in Iran.

Trudeau … How did he get into office in the 1st place? Did he run on a platform of taking in moslems?
He promised to legalize weed for everyone. His largest number of votes came from the 18 to 21 year old demographic. That tells you how many potheads there are voting.
Part of his platform was to allow tens of thousands of muslim refugees into Canada, which he did after being elected. He has a very much leftist agenda and is plunging Canada into huge deficit financing to achieve his leftist goals. There are many Canadians who do not agree with Trudeau and the liberals. We’ll see how many in October when there is a federal election. Trudeau is a disaster that has already happened.

In other words there will be more muslim friendly jurors at the next trial. The money these cockroaches are costing us and probably will get off with a slap on the wrist.
It’s Canada. They will get off and be awarded $10,000,000 each as compensation for Canadians not bending over far enough and quickly enough to be sodomised by their moslim masters.
They should be reconvicted and hung when the death penalty is brought back. Enough of this muslim jihadi crap.

There are always ‘errors’ … the only reason for giving these used asset wipes a new trial … is that they were convicted.

The dhimmi Court accepted the argument that jury selection was biased because these terrorists were Muslim. How is it possible to tell what religious beliefs any person has just by looking at them. The “Muslim” bullshit was introduced by the Defence lawyers in a deliberate attempt to influence the Court. The Judge should have thrown out the appeal and possibly punished the lawyers.
