Binning Knives Saves Lives has collected 140 knives in Waltham Forest since project launched in May

A DIY knife amnesty bin has been set up by residents in east London in response to rising violence.
Since it launched in May, volunteers from Binning Knives Saves Lives have collected 140 knives in Waltham Forest.
Courtney Barrett, who started the initiative, said he had been motivated by rising levels of knife crime close to his home in Leytonstone.
“When people ask me if I’ve been personally affected, I feel like I have,” said Barrett, 45. “There’s not enough police nowadays – we have to start fending for ourselves.”
About 25 volunteers help to run the makeshift amnesty using a repurposed domestic wheelie bin. They also offer information to young people about nearby youth groups.
Since 4 May, they have been campaigning once a week or once fortnightly, depending on funding levels. Last week, they collected 37 knives in four hours in Leytonstone, which they say came from both the parents of those who were carrying knives and the carriers themselves.
Barrett, who has three sons aged 20, 22 and 23 and a 13-year-old daughter, said he felt it was important to talk to children “about what to be aware of in this day and age”. He said he felt there was a need for community-led amnesties, despite the Metropolitan police providing their own bins.
“I’m from the streets, I’m genuine, I don’t get paid and I don’t tell people what to do, I give them the information and then give them the choice to do what they want to do,” said Barrett.
“When it comes to youths, they can see that I genuinely care about them – especially the ones that turn their nose up and walk off. I run after them and tell them: ‘Listen, I’m not paid to be here, I’m here because I care about you.’”
Earlier this year, it was reported that the number of knife amnesty bins, credited with taking 50,000 weapons off the streets of London, had halved in the past seven years.
In 2012, there were 36 Word 4 Weapons bin locations where knives and guns could be dropped off, which had dropped to 18.

It is not just the reduced numbers of police, it is the farcical restraints placed upon them by the ruling “elite” who seem determined to destroy the west and who see the virtue signalling of prosecuting “hate” crimes as more important than stab wounds , burglaries or violence in general. But then look at the word “racism”. It means to treat someone as an inferior purely because of their race. But now it has been distorted to cover ANY comment about race. I have a black friend = RACIST!. I sit here and boggle at the innate lunacy of the fools who call themselves the guardians of our culture as they seem more determined to destroy it than protect it and the ominous shadow of sharia looms larger every day and then darkness falls, there will be no music, no real literature, no fun and the TV will be full of sura chants, or imams telling us all what heathens we are (live in Saudi Arabia orn a couple of months). I doubt that most out there can project past next week (god only knows how they pay out a housing loan) in terms of what is coming towards them quickly and it is very hard NOT to think that it is DELIBERATE and intended by the globalists.

The British police completed their muslim diversity sensitivity training long ago.
They understand now that muslims are merely practicing their religious freedom, as enshrined in the koran, that permits sexual slavery, rape, forced conversion, assault, murder and genocide!
The police stand aside now, smile and applaud with a quiet opera clap of approval.

The police have lost control of the streets and estates. But the knife pandemic is not due to Muslims – period. It IS due to rampant drug dealing by gangs on an industrial scale to drug addicts, night clubbers, even city office workers esp. in the high-pressure financial institutions in the City. It is the drug dealing gangs operating multi-million pound ‘county lines’ – many controlled by migrant kingpins – and their knife culture which is causing the black teen on black teen issues. These gangs run rampant though the sink estates where post codes (zip codes) dictate whether kids are deemed to be members of one gang or another. All gangs protect their patch from other gangs. And to be accepted into a gang initiations are mandatory which often result in the deliberate murder of innocent bystanders. And of course many families do not have a father figure – so the kids do what they’re told to by their older ‘bros.’ The police have lost control of the streets and estates.

Well said. A very accurate summary of the problem. The moslems are merely incidental in this mess and although they too are in the gangs it’s not usually defined by religion or race but as you pointed out this is murder by post code and the post codes affected are mainly populated by blacks and immigrants.
It amuses and also drives me mental how our North American friends contributing on this fine forum when reading reports like this straight away exclaim “England is Finished” without really understanding that these London knife crimes rarely affect any everyday indigenous brits who are not living in these ethnically populated areas.

Maybe Muslims are not directly responsible but given that they tend to ghettoize and are strait-jacketed by their religion from rising socio-economically, they take to illegal activities like ducks take to water. If you read British news regularly like I do, you will see that Muslims are disproportionately represented in crimes like drug-dealing (though not on as great a scale as blacks), sexual misconduct, street-violence, robberies and the like.

Moslems are indeed a blot on our society and are responsible for so much of the crime but the London Stabathon is down to other factors. We definitely need to rid our country of the moslem menace but it’s not just them that are dragging England down.
We need a complete ban on any immigration for three years to see where we are. Immigrants need to be able to be an asset to England and not a drain on our resources. Roll on the 31st of October and Brexit

Let’s not forget the radical Muslim mayor Sadiq Khan took 1,000 officers off the streets to monitor Islamophobes. Anyone saying anything bad about Muslims/Islam were dealt with.
Khan doesn’t mind knife-crime so long as the victims are all non-Muslims. This is what you get when you put Muslims in power-decay, chaos, violence and destruction.

Social media such as YouTube has a lot to answer for in tolerating the promotion of drill rap (whatever) and the like, which glamorises violence with violent lyrics and content. Other reasons for the high murder rate especially by knives is point scoring on such as Instagram and yoof-oriented services, by some twisted logic a youth gains more respect from peers if he / she murders an innocent kid then uploads the footage as proof. The number of ‘likes’ is then used as a measure of the scum’s imagined popularity.
