Antifa’s First Mass Killer

The opening salvo —

Dayton shooter Connor Betts may be antifa’s first mass killer

Story continues below advertisement

Over the weekend, America suffered two mass shootings within hours of one another, in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio. These followed another mass shooting in Gilroy, Calif., a week earlier. The alleged perpetrators of the attacks were young, “lone-wolf” gunmen. All three carried out carnage against innocents using high-power rifles. All told, Santino Legan (Gilroy), Patrick Crusius (El Paso) and Connor Betts (Dayton) killed 34 people and injured dozens more.

While the attacks are similar, the response from liberals and leftists has been anything but.

Democratic presidential candidates Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris and Bernie Sanders succinctly condemned white nationalism — the ideology espoused by the El Paso shooter in his purported 2,300-word manifesto.

However, when it comes to condemning the Dayton shooter’s militant far-left views, all remain mum. Others, such as anti-police activist Shaun King, even claimed the Dayton shooter targeted blacks in a hate crime, though racism doesn’t appear to have been a component of his twisted worldview.

While Betts, the Dayton shooter, didn’t leave behind a manifesto, his extensive social-media footprint provides clues as to what may have inspired him. Federal investigators announced Tuesday that they are looking into his exploration of violent ideologies.

Betts had long expressed support for antifa accounts, causes and individuals. That would be the loose network of militant leftist activists who physically attack anyone to the right of Mao in the name of “anti-fascism.” In particular, Betts promoted extreme hatred of American border enforcement.

“Kill every fascist,” the shooter declared in 2018 on twitter, echoing a rallying cry of antifa ideologues. Over the next year, his tweets became increasingly violent. “Nazis deserve death and nothing else,” he tweeted last October. Betts frequently flung the label “Nazi” at those with whom he disagreed online.

By December, he reached out on Twitter to the Socialist Rifle Association, an antifa gun group, to comment about bump stocks, and the SRA responded to him. (A bump stock is an attachment for semiautomatic rifles that allow them to fire much faster.)

In the months leading to his rampage, Betts expressed a longing for climactic confrontation. In response to an essay by Intercept writer Mehdi Hassan titled, “Yes, Let’s Defeat or Impeach Trump—but What If He Doesn’t Leave the White House?” the shooter wrote: “Arm, train, prepare.”

By June he tweeted: “I want socialism, and I’ll not wait for the idiots to finally come round understanding.” Last week, he promoted posts that demonized Sens. Ted Cruz and Bill Cassidy’s resolution against antifa extremism.

America’s historical and contemporary struggles with fringe far-right violence has provided politicians, leaders and media with blueprints to identify and confront that form of extremism. The national unity in rejecting violent white-nationalist ideologues like James Fields and Dylan Roof are emblematic of America’s resolve against the far right.

The unanimous rejection of the El Paso shooter’s beliefs, including by President Trump, once more demonstrated the nation’s resolve against hard-right hate. Yet when it comes to far-left violent extremism, there is a gaping blind spot in the mainstream discourse, and we are less safe because of it.

Beyond banal condemnations of violence, politicians and leaders must work to uproot far-left militant beliefs from mainstream politics. The Dayton shooter promoted the same virulently anti-law-enforcement rhetoric that too many mainstream figures on the left flirt with. And yet it was courageous police officers who finally ended his carnage when they shot and killed him outside the Ned Peppers Bar in Dayton’s entertainment district.

His case also makes clear that antifa’s violence goes far beyond the street hooliganism it has become infamous for. The group espouses the belief that liberal democracy is irredeemably oppressive — fascistic, even — and must be thoroughly destroyed.

Hence, acts of extreme violence against individuals, property and the state are seen as stepping stones, bringing us closer to the collapse of society and a new, more just societal order. As anyone familiar with 20th-century history knows, apocalyptic ideas of this kind won’t stop with street thuggery.

Last month, an antifa militant firebombed an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Tacoma, Wash. Police say Willem van Spronsen was killed after he aimed a rifle at them during the attack. His gun had apparently malfunctioned before he could fire. In his manifesto, he called for his “comrades” to take up arms in confronting the ascendant fascism of the state. In one of Betts’ tweets before he extinguished the lives of nine fellow Americans, he responded to a person asking if van Spronsen had been a “villain or martyr?”

The Left has many levels of paranoid schizophrenia.

This is the highest level. It accompanies necrophilia, beastiality, pedophilia-all forms of rape, ie low impulse control.

His support for pedophilia and necrophilia match his psychopathic ideas and actions.

He was extremely misogynistic.

Let’s just call it what it really is, SATANIC actions. Psychologists can call it anything they want, but it is STILL EVIL AND SATANIC. Godly people do not do this to one another.

True. But mentally ill people have a combination of two converging conditions. One is a wiring issue which they are absolutely not responsible for. Their caregivers from before birth have been abusing them, usually unintentionally. Secondly, that abuse caused physical brain damage, making them less intelligent and therefore diminishes their capacity to be good.

Jesus said, “Condemn not lest he be condemned.”

We can see wickedness but we are also blessed enough to be more intelligent thanks to our religious values.

Love thy neighbor as thyself means set an example and pray for God to make up for their life experiences which disadvantaged them. Absolutely don’t let them get away with hurting people but remember, they “know not what they do”.

My son I adopted 16 years ago had fetal alcohol syndrome from his birth mother drinking and doing cocaine. Yes, he had a lot of serious issues, brain wiring issues. But he was also capable of being generous and caring …would not have hurt or certainly not killed a lot of people like this . He died last October from an artery that was way too small from his fetal alcohol syndrome. He was baptized at the church I used to play music at.

First of all, I am sorry for your loss. It must still sting…I can’t even imagine.

Secondly, I was referring to cognitive wiring acquired after birth through family and community cultures. A culture is more than ethnic identity. Each parent comes from a distinct family culture which has rules for social conduct, values, etc. How closely instinctive wiring is maintained determines positive and negative outcomes in behavior. Obviously your culture was not harm nor self harm oriented. His culture was given to him by you. His brain damage was acquired from gestational maternal care.

My adopted sons birth mother was not only abusive towards him but neglectful his first four years of his life…his older sister became The surrogate mother as their mom was always drinking and on drugs…his father committed suicide in the house…you shouldn’t assume you know someone’s situation on the internet…

I cannot imagine the sacrifice you and your family made to give love and care to this child. But as my Mother used to say….there will be “stars in your crown when you go to the great reward”. Love and comfort to you.

So are you saying that a Christian can or cannot kill if the situation warrants it (ie. police action, self-defense, war).

Tamara Hussey-Mecklenburg

Not at all. It is equally mentally ill to not defend yourself or others from physical force or lethal force in the context of stopping someone who has initiated violence. The death penalty is also appropriate for people who initiate lethal force or attempt to initiate lethal force. Which means attempted murder and conspiracy to commit acts of terrorism, murder, or mass murders also qualify for execution.

Given the nature of Islam such that it represents a lethal threat, technically it should be acceptable for governments to execute Muslims because their religion believes in slaughtering non-muslims.

We used that logic in the Spanish Inquisition appropriately.

Ditto for the Crusades.

Sorry. They do know what they do unless they have an IQ of a melon.
No matter what their upbringing….no matter what experiences….they live among other people and they know what is right and what is wrong.

The main problem is we have let in people here (on steroids with Obama) who have one goal in life…..kill everyone who they can’t subjugate to their barbaric death cult. It doesn’t get any clearer than that.
The Bush and Clinton Cabals share most of the blame.

The Bush family have been in bed with the MEs through oil for generations. GW’s college roommate was a Saudi Prince. John Brennan converted to Islam during Desert Storm and married a Muslim woman. And if you don’t know he was a major player in the Trump Coup, you haven’t been paying attention.
GW and Obama put in many, many MEs in our intelligence offices, military, and other critical offices. Obama forced the “early retirement” of many of our top military at the Pentagon. There is a list on the internet of all the ones he cut out of our military. When Trump fired Mattis the outcry was stupid…Obama ALSO FIRED MATTIS. That’s where I found the list of others Obama forced out.
The Clintons have received great financial benefit from their “friends” to the point we had the Benghazi massacre. Our Ambassador was killed over a gun running debacle by Killary’s State Department.
Nothing about Islam is conducive to our Constitution and Bill of Rights or to our Judea/Christian founding.
It has gotten so bad here that they now have “sharia divorces” in parts of Texas. Other Judges are allowing FMG in AMERICA OF LITTLE GIRLS!!
If one of us let our kids walk to the park alone….Child Protective Services would take their kids from them. (It was an actual case.)
In certain parts of Florida the courts allow Muslims to settle property disputes under sharia law!
What happened to our Constitution where it says there shall be no law in America, but our laws?

Sorry for going on so long, but there is so much more and our leaders seem helpless to stop it. I never thought in my 7 decades that I would see overtly, in our faces, enemies of America in our Congress! Hate spewing evil witches of the SQUAD!

The Bolshevik revolution started with a reasonably moderate Parliament, the Communists took over gradually with more and more violent and murderous tactics, moderate politicians were murdered usually by the younger more extreme activists, mostly students, the CHEKA who were the forerunners of the NKVD were mostly made up of former students, by the time Stalin died they had murdered or caused the deaths of an estimated 60 million Russians, ANTIFA are using the CHEKA blueprint.

Has anyone else noticed that if you have leftist friends or relatives, and you’re discussing the shootings, and you bring up spronsen’s name: 1. YOU first must recount the story to them because NONE of them have heard it?!!
& 2. They usually respond with, “I HAVEN’T HEARD THAT!”….& just leave it hanging there, implying that if THEY haven’t heard it, then YOU are lying?!! (As if They have heard EVERYTHING that has happened all over the world, from the propaganda press, lol!)

I suspect the Las Vegas shooter was a f’ing muslum convert because he traveled extensively to muslum states before his rampage and his wife was a f’ing muslum.

I agree with both statements. He was definately convert and he wouldn’t be able to shot himself so many people.
Unfortunately we’ll never find the truth. It’s disguasting! And it’s disrespect for the victims. They families should raise these questions publically. WTF is going on here?!

See my post above, And you are correct. ISIS claimed him as their own after the massacre…even gave his “muslim” name.

…Obama shut that investigation down really quick….the Sheriff was talking…the FBI came in and muzzled him.. I lived there at that time….we locals know it was Antifa radicalized by Muslims…and he wasn’t some drunken real estate speculator….his girlfriend was a Muslim from the Philippines.

Prior to him doing the massacre they traveled on a ship down the European coast with stops at three Muslim cities…her family lived in Dubai.
All you really need to know is that ISIS claimed him after the killings….even giving his new Muslim name. They only do that if it is true.

The FBI has been reporting for some time that people (Antifa) are being radicalized by ISIS right here in America. We have no go zones in Texas (where Obama put a lot of the “refugees”.) There are no go zones in Michigan and Washington and Oregon.
Interesting for people to know…the top four floors of the Mandalay Bay are lavish apartments…predominately occupied by MEs….

This is the same FBI that was working with those who planned and executed the attempted coup on our President and country.
My young adopted daughter had tickets for that show…..but had to go out of town at the last minute on business. Praise God!
Right now there is so much we don’t know….especially with these last murders…

Without doubt the Scalise shooter was a lone wolf operating as an ally if not a member of Antifa. We are under attack, but the MSM will continue to hide it.It will get far worse this coming 15 months. One Of the tactics of the Commiecrats will be to intimidate Trump supporters and keep them from the polls.

So afraid you are correct. Just wait until that movie comes out about Left Elites capturing and hunting down conservatives to kill for sport…..no doubt there will be copycat whackos…and will the families of the killed be able to sue the producers of the film and the distributors of the film? That’s the million dollar question.
Will there be marches and boycotts?

As usual, details of the Las Vegas mass killing was quickly covered up by the authorities. A lot of people testified that there were multiple shooters. Cell phone camera footage was collected by the authorities who then erased the footage before returning the phones. And yes, those massacred would be considered a somewhat conservative crowd.

Antifa warned of violence before one of those recent massacres. I think it was the one in El Paso. I also read that one of the shooters had various conflicting social media accounts that profiled him as supporting either the left or the right. The people who arrange these false flags like to have their bases covered. I expect many such tragedies to occur until the powers that be fulfill their intent to rob Americans of their guns and the remainder of the rights outlined in the Bill of Rights.

Mental health/psychiatric evaluations are a sham and a means of labeling and controlling people. They come up with a new label every day! They pump you with drugs depending on the label, which in most cases worsens a “condition”. How can a pill we injest actually cure anyway? It can’t, it just masks, and the side effects are what usually causes negative reactions! Funny how the father of the El Paso murderer was a clinical psychiatrist, as well as the perp was part Iranian, and an environmentalist! What’s wrong with that picture? There is good and evil at work along with our human nature and free-will! Mental Health does not allow for any spiritual intervention, thus can never be effective! Jesus Saves and Heals all human malaise and that is why He is being shut down in the US (and world)!! Praise Him!!

From the way you people hyperventilate about Antifa you would have thought something like this would have happened a long time ago.
Meanwhile, the extreme Right has had the El Paso shooter, the Charlottesville Car-Killer, the Synagogue Shooter, the Charleston Church shooter…

More likely both shootings were more Parkland Florida, style DNC/FBI “False Flags” to promote an anti-gun, anti-Trump agenda.

El Paso? Antifa previously said they were coming there.

dailycaller.com/2019/07/30/report-andy-ngo-antifa-siege-el-paso-texas-resistance/

The DOJ and FBI have made no effort to arrest Antifa in 3 years, that’s because they are “managing them.”

No one does domestic “False Flags” better than the DNC/FBI!
