Terrorists can work at airports without MI5 being tipped off
TERROR suspects can still land jobs at airports and major railway hubs without police or MI5 being tipped off, a court heard yesterday.

Even potential jihadists seen as “high-risk” and under investigation could slip through the net. Khuram Butt was under investigation by Scotland Yard and the security services when he was recruited by Transport for London in May 2016. The inquest into the London Bridge atrocity heard that Butt, 27, was allowed to work at various Tube stations including Westminster, near Parliament. At the time, he was the target of a joint police/MI5 probe as a “high-risk” terror suspect.
The security loophole emerged as a senior MI5 officer, known as Witness L, gave evidence. The officer agreed when Gareth Patterson, QC, representing the families of six victims, said: “Would you agree that risks are being taken if terror suspects are being permitted to hold down jobs where the transport infrastructure is vulnerable?” Speaking from behind a screen at the Old Bailey, Witness L also accepted Mr Patterson’s question: “Is the position that to this day, people can still be terror suspects and start working at these sorts of locations without you or the counter-terrorism police being notified of it?” The officer said there was no evidence that Butt took the job for “nefarious purposes”.
MI5 launched an investigation into Butt in 2015 after intelligence said he was linked to terror but the probe was suspended twice – once in February 2016 after attacks in Paris and again after the Westminster Bridge atrocity in March 2017.
MI5 was initially unaware Butt was regularly going to a gym run by a notorious terrorist suspect while on sick leave.
Butt’s accomplices Rachid Redouane, 30, and Youssef Zaghba, 22, also went to the gym in Ilford, east London. But Witness L said training at a gym was not a risk factor in itself.
Butt was still under investigation when he led the attack in June 2017 which claimed eight innocent lives.
The MI5 probe was being wound down and his movements or calls not being monitored in the days leading up to the outrage. The inquest continues.

While I was delighted that Donald Trump defeated the utterly disgusting Hillary Cllnton, in my estimation he is quite clueless about Islam and what drives Muslim violence. I’m not oblivious to the fact that he has an uphill road dealing with Democrat traitors who hinder him all the way when trying to protect the U.S. and its citizens – and is dealing with a thoroughly subverted FBI and CIA.

4 years agoFrankly, I am not shocked by this report; after all, it is the UK. Nor am I being smug or self-righteous, undoubtedly these Jihadis work at airports and other primary targets not only in the UK but throughout the West. Nor must one overlook the Jihad likes of Tlaib, Ilhan Omar and other Democrat representatives embedded in the heart of this Constitutional Republic.
The West has a deep-seated death wish, whether it is Britain, the EU, Canada, or the USA.
4 years agoReply to Ziggy46I take it that you would agree that there are two ways people can look at world events like this – carnally or spiritually. I defy anyone to offer a rational, carnal explanation for the completely illogical, “death wish” mentality that has gripped the West.
I firmly believe that God use to allow man to apply His principles according to an adjustable “will” both from man and from God. There were always consequences to poor choices, and blessings for good choices, but He would never just take away men’s will regardless of how badly He knew it would end. He would put out the call and it was up to men to listen or not. I believe this has changed.
Man has turned from God and has ignored His calls for repentance ; even the Christian “church” has fallen from His graces and God has now moved into the next phase of His dealings with man. The repeated patterns of His giving people over to a certain mindset that we see today, is not typically how He has dealt with man over the last 2000yrs. What we are seeing now, has not been seen on a scale like this ever before and tells me that current world and national events are now almost exclusively spiritually led, both from His Holy Spirit and from the spiritual forces of evil.
I do not believe that what we are seeing today can be explained or understood apart from a spiritual lens, and we need to begin embracing that to be able to be in tune with Him.

4 years agoReply to Mr Paul MiddletonYes, absolutely. I should have said “much of” the Christian church, but clearly, only Christians can apostasy. It is the majority of which I speak, certainly not the entirety, and I am thankful for those who have held fast. I truly believe that Christ has put out His call to the bridesmaid and is coming very soon to gather her to Him.

I’ve been to a few churches and have yet to hear one pastor, minister or priest talk seriously about Islam and the suffering of Christians in the Middle East, Afghanistan and Northern Africa – after all their appalling suffering before death. Sit in church and you see individuals around you looking at their cell phones, empty minds oblivious to God and what was supposed to be the purpose in attending a service. The best speaker I heard in a church speaking about Islam was Australian Anglican priest, Mark Durie, author of the book on Islam, ‘The Third Choice’.

I don’t deny you your experience of Christians in church ‘looking at their cellphones’ but please don’t deny me mine, because in my church I have yet to see anyone looking at their cellphone during the services. Whenever you are using a broad brush, you should make it clear that you are.
4 years agoReply to Mr Paul MiddletonYes, I used a broad brush, and know that there are some excellent Christians out there, not least men like Mark Durie and missionaries, men and women, but my personal experience, not least as chairman of a church board was very disappointing. I applaud men like Franklin Graham who does not stand on ceremony and calls a spade a spade, but, sadly there are too few.
4 years agoReply to Rob PorterIt’s nice to end up in an understanding, because we both know the West is in a war and there are few moderates in Islam. Furthermore, I am opposed to religious ecumenicalism and multicultural tolerance where Muslims are concerned. I believe that being opposed to that is merely, in the eyes of God, a good Christian choice.
4 years agoReply to James JonesYou are right, the West has turned from God and evidence of this is gross stupidity, cowardice, lack of common sense, contemptible lack of wisdom – and terrible leadership such as that of the contemptible Theresa May, Angela Merkel, Emanuel Macron, Justin Trudeau and that idiot in New Zealand, Jacinda Ardern, who Canada’s Trudeau says in his favourite national ‘leader’. For him, how unsurprising! The Bible tells that with poor leadership ‘the people go astray’. Good judgement has departed the West and in it’s place is befuddled fecklessness – to a large extent driven by political correctness insanity and the grovelling cowardice of which Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn spoke in his 1978 Harvard Commencement Address. Growing up in South Africa many of us while rejecting apartheid still developed considerable contempt for the West with its selective morality, double standards and spineless, gutless cowardice that is rationalized as compassion and wisdom. How else does anyone explain the astounding stupidity and irresponsibility of employers failing to investigating an applicant’s background and credentials – and allowing potentially dangerous individuals to work at airports and other transportation facilities – and then when something goes badly wrong it’s ‘Oops,we didn’t know he was a jihadist’. We can bet that p.c. cowardice is leading employers to avoid doing background checks and profiling because it might be seen as ‘Islamophobic’ or ‘racist’. All of this is simply further evidence of cowardice, total lack of conviction and dereliction of duty. Naturally these sorry excuses for leaders, such as Frances worthless poof man, Macron, resent the likes of Hungary’s Viktor Orban who has the courage of his convictions and is not allowing Muslim dregs to enter his country.
