Top-ranking Republican McCaul calls for ouster of Omar from committee

“I think Omar has to go,” said U.S. Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas), eliciting wild applause and a standing ovation from the audience, though others will have to make that decision.

By Jackson Richman, JNS, July 8, 2019:

U.S. Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas), the ranking member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said on Monday that Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) should be removed from the committee for her anti-Semitic remarks.

When asked by Michelle Makori of i24 News at the annual summit by Christians United for Israel whether the freshman congresswoman should be kicked off the committee, McCaul said that decision is up to the committee’s chairman, Rep. Eliot Engel (D-N.Y.), and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.)—an answer that elicited jeers from the CUFI crowd before McCaul could finish his answer.

“But as for me, I think Omar has to go,” he said, eliciting wild applause and a standing ovation from the audience.

In February, Omar accused the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the largest pro-Israel lobbying organization, of paying members of Congress to back Israel.

The following month, she pointed fingers at her “Jewish colleagues” for attacking her and Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) for labeling every criticism of theirs as anti-Israel because of the Muslim faith of the two congresswomen, in addition to slamming her critics regarding “the political influence in this country that says it is OK to push for allegiance to a foreign country.”

This led to a passed resolution condemning anti-Semitism and other forms of hatred that did not call out Omar by name.

In his remarks, McCaul said that the Foreign Affairs Committee “has always been bipartisan on foreign affairs. But it’s also been pro-Israel. And now, for the first time, we have a member on this committee that is not and is making anti-Semitic comments.”

“And then we have Tlaib and [New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez] joining in on the chorus against the Jewish people,” added McCaul. “This cannot stand in the United States of America.”

However, potential removal of Omar from the committee looks unlikely.

“No, I’m not close to it,” said its chairman, Rep. Eliot Engel (D-N.Y.), on CNN’s “Erin Burnett OutFront” in March when asked if he would remove Omar.

Omar Refuses to Condemn Anti-Israel Sentiments

Newbie lawmaker Ilhan Omar ― who says Israel should not be allowed to exist as a Jewish state ― responded by admitting that the audio was hateful, but then played the victim card by insisting that she too receives bigoted voicemails.

Realizing that her tweet would be viewed by her followers, Omar then suggested that Lee Zeldin meet with her to discuss a solution.

Zeldin called Ilhan on her bluff by asking if she would join him in passing House Resolution 72, which condemns the anti-Israel and anti-Semitic hatred infiltrating U.S. politics and Congress.

Predictably, Omar ignored his request even though they are colleagues, which means their job is to work together.

Ilhan Omar Has History of Anti-Israel Rhetoric

As BizPac Review reported, the feud between Zeldin and Ilhan erupted after Zeldin expressed concern that Omar ― a noted anti-Semite and terrorist sympathizer ― had just joined the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

Naturally, she tried to deflect from her history of anti-Semitism by suggesting that Zeldin has a problem working with a Muslim.

Keep in mind that people who hate Jews usually despise Christians also.

In reality, Lee Zeldin and other Jewish-Americans are genuinely worried because several anti-Israel Muslim lawmakers are in this year’s freshman class. Israel is a longstanding ally and friend to the United States.

Ilhan has stated that Israel is not a democracy and should not be allowed to exist as a Jewish state.

Muslim Lawmakers Think Their Main Job Is to Represent Other Muslims

Meanwhile, Muslim Congressman Andre Carson projects that the US Congress will have 30 to 35 Muslim representatives by 2030.

“We’ve got [Muslim] firepower in Congress!” Carson declared.

Moreover, Carson fantasizes that the US President, Vice President, and Speaker of the House of Representatives will all be Muslim in a few short years.

Carson’s job is to represent everyone in the 7th district of Indiana. For the record, his district is 63% white, 29% black, and has few Muslims.

However, Carson told Muslims at a reception for CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) ― an Islamist organization with reported ties to the terror group Hamas ― that his top priority is to represent other Muslims.

Carson said it is the duty of every American Muslim to “represent Islam and let the world know that Muslims are here to stay, and Muslims are a part of America. And we will have a Muslim caucus that is sizeable, that is formidable, and that is there for [Muslims].”
