HP discriminating against Franco-Israelis

12

HP doesn’t let a Franco-Israeli register its product as Israeli citizen, forces him instead to register in “Occupied Palestinian territories”.

I received a letter from one of my readers, shocked to find that Israel is not in the drop-down menu that allows him to register his new HP printer. “Israel has been erased” says the distressed owner.

I bought an HP printer. It comes with a character recognition software (OCR) from IRIS, a Canon subsidiary.

Story continues below advertisement

The OCR software is included with the printer. When I wanted to activate it, it asked to register and specify my country of residence. I had to choose from a drop-down menu, and Israel was not there. On the other hand, I found “occupied Palestinian territories” (Palestinien Occupé, Territoire).

This is an HP Office Jet 6950 printer purchased… in Israel!

In the past, I worked in the field of document management, I had the opportunity to work with IRIS. It was a Belgian company that was bought by the Japanese Canon.

Ironically, the president of IRIS France (who certainly had nothing to do with it) was Serge Dahan, who is also president of B’nai B’rith!

It won’t change unless we do something about it.

If you wish to contact HP and IRIS, here are their numbers:

Printers are made by multiple companies and HP does not make one any better than the rest. I quit buying HP products long ago because there were cheaper better products widely available. Now i have another good reason never to buy another HP product.

It’s important that HP understand that they can’t erase governments on their own, from their listings. That Israel is very very much a real nation, and that they cant erase that nation is very much important for them to hear.

It is to be expected in soon-to-be Francestan. If people bothered to read history, there is no Palestinian state.

Hewlett Packard used HP as it’s company logo. HP, in Spanish is pronounced “hache pe”. Some Spanish speaking countries use “hache pe” as slang for “hijo de puta” which translates to “son of s bitch” in English.

The political LEFT world wide want to sew discourse everywhere as a means to gain power for themselves. Typical of leftist-communist ideology there is no empathy for the people. That they support the “Palestinians” has nothing to do with the people, it is power their after. I urge everyone to always vote RIGHT in any political race !

Recognize this is another form of jihad and needs to be treated as such. I recall there is a special Israeli unit that deals with BDS.They should be notified an an official protest sent to HP asking this “error” be corrected immediately. Be ever vigilant, there are millions of these jihadists among us,some working the same office, living in our neighborhoods, attending and teaching at out schools.each and every one of them is a danger in one form or another.

HP makes a beautiful product, perhaps overpriced, but still a great product. The company, however, is another entity that does what it can to make money, even at the cost of hard feelings.
Does anybody remember the name “Meg Whitman”? She ran H.P. but also got into politics on several levels. She helped Mitt Romney but also supported Hillary Clinton. That is her background.
While at H.P., she found a sneaky way to make money. The Iran sanctions were on, but she found a back-door way of doing business with them. She earned the company a lot of money, but eventually, the truth came out.
Well, that is part of my “beef” with H.P. I know it is a personal story unrelated to the one above, but it proves to me what kind of ethics this company has, and forgetting Israel on their drop-down is indicative of either sloppiness or ill-feelings. Either way, there is a better option, in not using their product.
By the way, printers are mostly a scm. The printer may be inexpensive, but worth more than you pay. They get rich by selling the ink. You have very cheap ink, but the cartrige is very expensive. Now you can purchase printers that have a refillable ink dispenser and they work just as well.
