Major networks opting to run shows like ‘Jeopardy!’ in lieu of live coverage of the Fourth of July event

Major U.S. media networks ABC, CBS, and NBC announced Wednesday that they are all snubbing President Donald Trump’s “Salute to America” celebration on the Fourth of July and plan to stick with regularly scheduled shows rather than provide live television coverage of the event.
The Daily Mail reported that the networks will stick with planned nightly newscasts and shows, such as “Jeopardy!” and “Inside Edition,” in lieu of airing the Independence Day event featuring a speech from the president. However, the three networks will offer live footage over its respective online and streaming platforms.
In reporting details of President Trump’s planned show honoring America’s armed forces, CBS News noted the president was carrying forward with the event “despite widespread criticism over the distracting from the holiday.”
The outlet added, “The president’s critics have chastised him for bringing costly military equipment reminiscent of more dictatorial regimes and for placing himself center stage in the typically nonpartisan celebration.”
President Trump was reportedly first inspired to host a patriotic event in America after attending Bastille Day celebrations in France during a 2017 visit.
“Salute to America” will start at 6:30 p.m. ET at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The event will feature a speech by the president, delivered at the Lincoln Memorial as part of the broader Fourth of July celebration in the capital.
C-SPAN will provide live coverage of the event, and Fox News has blocked off two hours for special coverage of the event.

The president has been promoting the Independence Day celebration, which will include concerts, flyovers, fireworks, and military demonstrations from each of America’s military service branches.
WRC-TV reported that during a campaign rally in Florida on Tuesday, President Trump told the audience, “We’re going to have hundreds of thousands of people, we’re going to celebrate America. On July Fourth in Washington, D.C., come on down, we’re going to have a big day. Bring your flags, bring those flags. Bring those American flags.”

Most of the people here register UNA [UNAfiliated], then vote as they see fit in the General. We had an out of state group push a Proposition called “Count the Vote” designed to kill the caucus-convention system for nominating candidates. The Legislature panicked and passed a compromise [SB-54] that allowed people a way to buy their way into the Primary election via a petition drive. Without that path, we would be looking at Senator Kennedy. The Democrat was a total leftist gun-grabber; so we had to settle for “Mittens”.

I had to laugh at the dribbling, moronic, snowflake commentary denigrating their President. Talk about losers. I left a few pithy comments just to have an opposing view on there. I do not watch these a-holes news outlets; nor will I no matter what they have to offer; all of which are anti-American, anti-Israel, or anti-Trump propagandists. Their decision is symptomatic of the MSM; they are all in the back pocket of the duplicitous Democrats, the perfidious likes of Soros and others of the New World Order. This is a technical issue going back to the 1970’s. The Prime Time Access Hour prohibits networks from programming during the 7 PM – 8 PM ET hour except for sporting runover, making the time reserved for local affiliates’ use, meaning either syndicated programming or more local news is broadcast during that hour. The event took place during the rule enforced from 1971-96 at the federal level, but is de facto in effect because local affiliates have successfully programmed shows (such as Jeopardy!) that run 11 months of the year (they only end their season in late July and do not start until early September) where networks are no longer able to reclaim that 7 PM hour.
Local affiliates that have 7 PM newscasts have the option to air the speech live (and could easily have boosted ratings).

We are controlled by media, what to see, what to think and who to vote for. I haven’t watched these networks in over 2 years, and their control over prime time tv, even in normal broadcasting–show us 8 episodes then break for 2 months. We pay for this luxury.
