Buttigieg promises to re-enter US into Iran nuclear deal, cut aid over West Bank annexation

(June 11, 2019 / JNS) Pete Buttigieg, the mayor of South Bend, Ind., and candidate for the Democratic nomination for president in 2020, criticized U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday for withdrawing from the 2015 Iran deal in May 2018, saying that it was “close to a true ‘art of the deal,’ ” a reference to one of the president’s books.
“Preventing the spread of nuclear weapons should remain a core tenet of our global leadership,” said Buttigieg, 37, in a speech focused on foreign policy and national security at the University of Indiana in Bloomington. “For this reason, I will rejoin our international partners and recommit the U.S. to the Iran nuclear deal.”
“Whatever its imperfections, this was perhaps as close to a true ‘art of the deal’ as it gets,” he said. “As even this administration repeatedly certified it was preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. It has helped constrain the military threat that Iran poses to Israel and Europe without leading up down a path to another Middle Eastern war. This agreement was concluded not to do Iran a favor, but because it is in our national security interest, just as a parallel policy of confronting Iran’s support for terrorism and abysmal human rights record reflects our values and security interests.”
Beside Buttigieg, other candidates who said they would re-enter the United States into the Iran deal include Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.); Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.); Kamala Harris (D-Calif.); Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.); Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii); former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro; author and spiritual guru Marianne Williamson; and Wayne Messam, mayor of Miramar, Fla.

Any man who would think it’s perfectly fine to be “married” to another man will believe anything. Absolutely anything.
Weakness is provocative, and if America ever elects “an openly gay man” president (which I refuse to believe will happen), that will be the signal to the rest of the world that America is done, and we are asking for and ready to be finally raped, pillaged, ground into pieces and conquered.
And that is what will happen.

You’re correct in your assumptions, but you are remiss in one very important regard: The fact that this facile and degenerate pervert is a) legally married – to another man and b) is regarded, nevertheless as a legitimate candidate for president – is in itself sufficient to establish that America is already “done,” irrespective of the outcome of his candidacy.

I think a gay man can be a good leader but Buttigieg lacks the guts to stand by an opinion of his own not in step with the Democrats and the progressives, the brains, the muscles, the nobilitly, the love of his country, principles, vision, backbone, nerves, elevated spirituality, responsibility, knowledge of right from wrong, consideration for the braves who fight for the country. Recognising the “imperfection” of a deal with Iran is a modest admission of the enormous treacherousness of the Iranian Mollahs. He gives a good try at having brains…
