New York Times Ends Political Cartoons After Jew-Hatred Cartoon Scandals

If we can’t run vile antisemitic cartoons, then they’ll be no cartoons for you at all!” Apparently they have to stop running cartoons so this doesn’t happen anymore. Why don’t other publications have this problem? Clearly, killing the feature is easier than firing all the antisemites. The New York Times has been self censoring for a long time in the cause of the blapshemy laws under the sharia. This is a whole new level of hatred and bigotry.

New York Times Ends Political Cartoons After Antisemitism Scandals

By Simon Kent, June 11, 2019:

The international edition of the New York Times will no longer feature editorial cartoons. The move to self-censorship follows the uproar sparked by publication of a widely denounced antisemitic caricature of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The cartoon, published in April, depicted Netanyahu as a dog wearing a Star of David collar and leading a sightless U.S. President Donald Trump — who was wearing a Jewish skullcap.

The offensive piece was drawn by Portuguese artist António Moreira Antunesas and published during the Passover holiday.

The cartoon prompted an uproar within the Jewish community and sparked protests outside the Times’ office in New York City, with Israel’s ambassador to the U.N. likening it to the content of Nazi propaganda newspaper Der Sturmer.

Blaming its publication on “a production editor who did not recognize its anti-Semitism,” the paper was eventually forced into a backdown:

Now it has moved beyond apology to giving up altogether on the notion of publishing editorial cartoons.

Editor James Bennet explained the paper had planned for a year to cease running political cartoons in the international print version of the Times, in line with the U.S. edition.

The decision will come into effect on July 1, Bennet said in a Monday statement.

New York Times publisher A.G. Sulzberger announced in May that the editor who published the original cartoon would be disciplined.

They are probably befuddled on what constitutes humor.
I don’t think liberals see their biased hatred as wrong or that it is biased.

Just more of the same wrong-minded self-righteousness.

Once again the news media walks away unscathed from another anti-Semitic event. That is what galls me. I am a believer in free speech, except when that free speech can be related to violence begetting therefrom. Though I do find the cartoonists cartoon referred to above in this article as without merit, I do not see it being subject to denial in violation of free speech. Free speech should also include the right to express one’s Islamophobia. With what is happening world wide by the real conduct of those Islamic radicals, I am convinced that being Islamophobic is reasonable and expressing those feelings by the spoken tongue, a writing or through a cartoon should also fall within the concept of being authorized by free speech. If the “politically correct” News paper has adopted a policy that it will not countenance anti-anything, than it should apply throughout its news coverage. Unfortunately, I do not believe that the editors are intending to fairly and accurately report the news, and they certainly have not complied with what constitutes free speech.

Is this taking, “if you can’t say something nice don’t say anything at all,” too far?

Or is it more along the lines of taking all one’s toys and going home?
