Yes, to pay for socialism. Sanders is crazy and continues to prove that he is a significant danger to the United States. He is the most dangerous of the Democrat Party’s presidential candidates, which says a-lot given how awful all of them are.
Sanders is also very misleading about Canada’s medical system, which he will often reference to promote his insane economic policies. Yes, Canadians are provided with free health care. However, Sanders conveniently forgets to mention the profound shortcomings of Canada’s medical system: the long waiting times, the shortage of doctors, the shortage of beds, the shortage of medical equipment, the poor facilities, the lack of innovation, and lack of privatization.
All of this has resulted in thousands of Canadians being forced to travel to the United States for medical treatment, while depriving Canada of billions of dollars in revenue. Canada’s medical system (and other Left-wing economic policies) has made Canada a much more expensive country to live in, and a much harder country to build wealth in. This is why so many of Canada’s best and brightest immigrate to the United States every year. The economically illiterate Sanders will never understand or mention these facts.

The good news is that Sanders’ recent statements about raising taxes will make excellent attack ads. It is time for the Republicans to expose Bernie Sanders for the radical communist and anti-Semite that he is, since the mainstream (fake) media never will. #TRUMP2020.

Democrat presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) said on Wednesday night during a CNN interview that “a lot of people” would love to pay more in taxes if it meant that they got government-run health care.
“But as you know, the taxes in many of those countries are much higher than they are in individual and personal tax are much higher than they are in the United States,” CNN’s Anderson Cooper said.
“Yeah, but I suspect that a lot of people in the country would be delighted to pay more in taxes if they had comprehensive health care as a human right,” Sanders responded. “I live 50 miles away from the Canadian border. You go to the doctor any time you want. You don’t take out your wallet. You have heart surgery, you have a heart transplant and you come out of the hospital and it costs you nothing.”

this time to make birth control available as an over-the-counter medication.

“A simple, clean bill making birth control available over the counter. Interested?”

Cruz and Ocasio-Cortez, as he noted, already agreed to join forces on a bill that would ban lawmakers from becoming lobbyists after their time in Congress — a rare moment of bipartisanship between politicians who seemed to represent complete opposite sides of the ideological spectrum.

Both Ocasio-Cortez and Cruz have emphasized the need for “clean” legislation that wouldn’t include any other partisan provisions that might scuttle the bill’s passage.
Ocasio-Cortez is yet to respond on Twitter.
Ocasio-Cortez also called for birth control to be free, something Cruz likely won’t agree to since it the freshman congresswoman seemed to want to achieve that through single-payer health care.

Once birth control pills become an over-the-counter medication, insurance will no longer have to cover them. At least in practice. For said medication to be covered by an insurance carrier (even under the ACA), a physician needs to write a prescription for it. Typically, the reimbursement amount is a percentage which can be substantially higher than the insured’s current copay or coinsurance. Listen to the feminists squeal like stuck old sows.

It should never have been covered by insurance. Why should the Catholic Sisters have to be insured for abortions and birth control? This was required under Obama’s Unaffordable Care Act. BTW MUSLIMS were exempted from birth control and abortion coverage.

The Catholic charity Little Sisters of the Poor is fighting an effort by California and Pennsylvania to block the Trump administration’s effort to roll back Obamacare’s birth control mandate.
The charity was part of a large lawsuit brought by religious nonprofits that challenged the Obama administration over an Obamacare requirement for employers to provide birth control without requiring a copay from employees. The Trump administration rolled back that mandate last month.
However, California and Pennsylvania are suing to preserve the mandate.
The lawsuit went all the way to the Supreme Court, which eventually punted the case back down to lower courts and asked for the administration and nonprofits to reach a new settlement.
That directive became moot after the Trump administration relaxed the birth control mandate last month. The new interim rule would ensure that employers that have a religious or moral objection to birth control do not have to provide it at all to employees.

The most egregious part of the ACA was no underwriting. If I keep my weight at down and go to physician rarely (even though I now have Medicare, I haven’t seen a pill-pushing sawbones in over four years … And, I have gone decades without darkening a physician’s door), I pay the same premium as someone that tips the scales at over three hundred pounds and is on a string of maintenance meds of more pills than Carter’s used to sell. It used to be health insurance … which meant underwriting. Today, if you put P&C insurance, on the same level as health “insurance” … Assume you haven’t had a moving violation, in the past twenty years …. and have NEVER had an at-fault accident. Yet, your neighbor has had three DUIs, twenty-seven moving violations and thirty-six at-fault accidents … and you both pay the SAME premium. Seriously, why should someone that is healthy pay for poor life-style choices of others?

Speaking of medical care … we’ve been praying for you. After reading your reply … I prayed that your insurance came from somewhere besides the ACA … that stuff .. with it’s $7500.00 Individual Deductibles and 60/40 coinsurance, following the deductible … At least that’s what I paid close to $1400.00 per month, for our coverage (wife and I). Medicare is a savior.

We are both fine. Later today, I will visit with some horses on a horse farm up the road. On a day like today, they’ll be out. Even if I don’t bring apples or sugar cubes they know me. The owner lets me ride now and then. They are beautiful animals. I regret that I never owned one.
My youngest has an internship with a subsidiary of Bayer in upstate NY so the house is sooo quiet. It’s just far enough away where she is independent and close enough to come home for a weekend. So far she loves it and we kept it from her. My preop stuff is on /17 and if I remember correctly the surgery is 6/24. I just don’t think about it. The only thing I do worry about is my kids and what kind of a country are we turning into….
Too bad I am not an illegal, fake migrant, fake asylum seeker or a “refugee”, then everything would be for free! You and I get the bill for it.

More taxes means more government to spend those taxes. We do not need MORE government, as what we have now seems to be able to function properly. Our priorities of our government should be national security first and foremost, as there is a world of people out there who want to destroy us, making national security our first goal. After requiring us to pay first for that security, we can then consider the next items of government that will help the American public. That may be health care, involving, in addition to making available good medical services, research to the end that we can cure major diseases for the benefit of all people. Than we can consider what this country needs to do with its tax money to deal with immigration, the economy, infrastructure, criminal justice and what have you. Socialism, which seems to be the watchword of the Democratic Party, has never worked, and I expect that most right thinking people reject any concepts that involve a welfare state, and I hope that they remember that when the next election comes around.

Out where I am, we are already paying higher gas taxes at the pump, higher DMV fees every year, and property taxes keep going up. Every election, there are bond issues they want done to pay for schooling, road repair, etc.

Natasha Richardson died as a result of inadequate emergency trauma health care in Canada.
Princess Diana died as a result of inadequate emergency trauma health care in France.
Both women would have had a significantly greater chance of survival had their trauma taken place in the USA.
Countries with socialized medicine do not devote money to trauma care. Emergency trauma care simply does not get resources in these countries because it is very expensive. Their systems lack the infrastructure to deliver trauma care. Why? Because trauma victims are frequently minutes/hours away from dying. So it is cheaper to just let them die. There is not a single country with socialized medicine where trauma care comparable to what is available and developed in the USA exists. And the bureaucrats never consider or think about it because it is unplanned and unexpected. It is simply not considered until it is needed.

SS is paid for by every taxpayer in America. The recipient pays into that and gets it back at 62-70, depending on how old they are and how much they’ve paid into it (formula). YES, it is an entitlement for the very people who contributed to that entitlement, unlike Welfare where anyone who qualifies, even if they don’t work or have never worked (illegal aliens), can get it. Social Security is a life-long personal bank account without interest for retirees that have paid their taxes.

Many people paid out a lifetime of dues to support the social security system are you going to give them that money back? There are senior citizens who depend on social security what’s going to happen to them? Do you expect them to get yobs?

You are so correct and these socialized countries do NOT want the world to know this. SOCIALISM ALWAYS LEADS TO COMMUNISM. It is a flawed and failed system that tries to make everyone the same EXCEPT THE RICH, WHO ARE EXEMPT and it’s like trying to fit a circle into a square hole. And that would work IF WE WERE ALL ROBOTS. We are individuals. Socialism does NOT want individualism. IT WANTS COLLECTIVISM, LIKE THE BORG. BTW: Someone told me that Social Security is Socialism. IT IS NOT. SS is a socialized plan, but it is NOT Socialism because not everyone gets it and not everyone gets the same amount.
SS is paid for by every taxpayer in America. The recipient pays into that and gets it back at 62-70, depending on how old they are and how much they’ve paid into it (formula). YES, it is an entitlement for the very people who contributed to that entitlement, unlike Welfare where anyone who qualifies, even if they don’t work or have never worked (illegal aliens), can get it. Social Security is a life-long personal bank account without interest for retirees that have paid their taxes.

Health care is not a human right. It is a service. People who do not support the idea that a government bureaucracy should tax you to death in exchange for rationing care for your basic needs understand the basic fact that much of the money goes to supporting the gigantic bureaucracy. In the US government that translates into jobs for Democrats. Socialism always destroys the vigor of a nation by hurting incentive for those who want to produce in order to get the political support of those who don’t. And now they really do want to crash the economy for good by bringing in millions of foreigners to be supported by the American taxpayer. We are going to lose our country.

Illegal immigration costs the American taxpayer 2 TRILLION a year! There are 40 million illegals in this country and the total cost to support them is an average of $50,000 each per year. The Total cost is TWO TRILLION each and every year. That will pay for a lot of health care and supplemental income for all Americans if we got rid of them. Bernie ought to make that this platform. Get rid of the illegals and we can have free health care, free university education, free housing,etc. Hey, it worked for the socialists in Denmark last week. That’s how they won the election. Bernie, copy the socialists in Denmark,not t Cuba and Venezuela.

Bernie Sanders is living proof that there’s no fool like an old fool! NOTHING is “free” if someone else has to pay for it; and socialism for the masses is nothing more than the destroyer of personal incentive to excel…and the equal sharing of misery

I think old Bernie is delusional when it comes to his statement that “a lot of people” would love to pay more in taxes if it meant that they got government-run health care. And personally, regarding the payment of taxes, I mirror the sentiments of a great comedian, Arthur Godfrey, who opined: “I am proud to be paying taxes in the United States. The only thing is – I could be just as proud for half the money.”

Thank you , Thank you Berni, I would love the opportunity to pay more tax’s. Every time I go shopping I see poor homeless people offering to work, I see the welfare recipients struggling with heavy carts of high priced food, paying with the EBT cards that miraclulously refill each month. I see them struggle to load the groceries and stuff into new SUV’s. I wish to make our Somali, Congolese, Nigerian and Hispanic (citizens) feel like slave masters as they live off of the tax payers tit while the American borne workers struggle to pay tax’s and have a home and eat. And I love to hear of the sports and entertainment figures with multi millions in pay and lawyers to keep them from paying (Their fair share) Berni, go f–k yourself!

Health care is a personal responsibility., not a human right. You and you alone are responsible for your body, what you put into it and how you treat it.
To hand over that responsibility to the government gives them the right to dictate how your body is treated and the type of healthcare you receive or not receive, if they so determine.
Bernie Sanders wants that advantage over all of us.
