Bernie Sanders: Medicare For All Would ‘Absolutely’ Cover Illegal Immigrants

Vermont Senator and Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders admitted Friday that his Medicare for All plan would cover the nearly 11 million illegal immigrants present in the United States.
Sanders has routinely campaigned on his plan to nationalize the U.S. health care system and provide so-called “free” health insurance to every individual. The plan is estimated to cost more than $32 trillion over the next decade.
“We’re gonna … create a Medicare for All health care system which guarantees health care to every man, woman, and child,” Sanders said during the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials’ (NALEO) presidential candidate forum Friday. “We will organize the American people around the idea that all people in this country have the right to health care.”
The moderator of the event asked Sanders if his plan would apply to illegal immigrants in the U.S.
“Absolutely, absolutely,” Sanders replied. “When I talk about health care being a human right, last time I heard that undocumented people are human beings as well.”

Violates the Constitution
– which only governs Americans, not foreigners
– and thus constitutional protections do not apply to foreigners
– and USA citizens bear no constitutional obligation
– to give money to millions of illegal foreign invaders

I wish voting was handled like the founders had intended. If you don’t pay more in taxes than you receive in benefits you shouldn’t have the vote. It is representation without taxation.

Right you are. In addition, people should not be able to vote for proposals that benefit them directly, example, government employees should not be able to vote for expansion of government benefits.

I think the original 13 states taxed land (so landowners paid the tax). There were no “benefits”, as the term is commonly understood today, to receive from the government. Local governments were involved with the “poor boxes”, but receiving charity was not viewed as a “right”.
I do agree with you, however, that universal suffrage may be the death of representative democracy. I am not sure how the voting franchise should be circumscribed, but something more than a body temperature of about 98.6 F should be required!

In ancient Athens one had to be a landowner to vote and becoming a landowner required service in the citizen army of Hoplites.

I do not want any Democrat to become the next President of the United States. Especially Bernie Sanders. This man is definitely a Socialist. All we need to do is look at what Socialism and Communism has done to other nations, the old Soviet Union, and Venezuela and now Canada to see that Socialism does not work.

The media won’t say it, and very few grasp the truth of it – but the Democrats have become a new communist party.
While their thugs attack the symbols of America by destroying statues and rioting in the streets, the Democrats in congress are doing everything in their power to transform America into a Soviet state.

Sir,
I am an elderly American that is in desperate need of dental work, my teeth are gone and the gums infected which could cause bacteria to enter my blood stream and cause heart problems too. I have worked all my years from age 16 to retirement and paid my tax’s diligently. Social security is barely enough to get by on and the dental work will cost $30,000. I know you will have sympathy and wish to assist with my required dental bills.
