“In response to a number of troubling and escalatory indications and warnings, the United States is deploying the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group and a bomber task force to the U.S. Central Command region to send a clear and unmistakable message to the Iranian regime that any attack on United States interests or on those of our allies will be met with unrelenting force,” Bolton said.

US deploys carrier strike group to send ‘clear and unmistakable message’ to Iran

By: The Hill, May 5, 2019:

The United States is deploying a carrier strike group and a bomber task force to the Middle East in response to what it called “troubling and escalatory indications and warnings” from Iran, national security adviser John Bolton announced on Sunday.

Bolton said in a statement that the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group and a bomber task force would be deployed to a region overseen by the Pentagon’s U.S. Central Command, whose area of responsibility includes the Middle East.

“The United States is not seeking war with the Iranian regime, but we are fully prepared to respond to any attack, whether by proxy, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, or regular Iranian forces,” he added.

It’s not unusual for an aircraft carrier to be deployed to the region, but the language used in Bolton’s statement suggests the U.S. is seeking to ramp up pressure on Iran to counter what the White House perceives to be a potential threat.

The Trump administration has made several moves recently aimed at Tehran, announcing last month new sanctions targeting foreign countries that receive Iranian oil exports. Axios reported on Sunday that the White House is planning to announce further sanctions later this week.

The statement also comes as new violence flares between Israel and the Palestinians in Gaza. The group Islamic Jihad, which has a foothold in Gaza, is seen as an Iranian proxy.

In April, the U.S. designated Iran’s Revolutionary Guard a foreign terrorist organization, the first time the designation has been applied to a government entity. Iran responded in kind, designating all U.S. troops in the Middle East terrorists.

“We will answer any action taken against this force with a reciprocal action. So the leaders of America, who themselves are the creators and supporters of terrorists in the (Middle East) region, will regret this inappropriate and idiotic action,” hundreds of Iranian lawmakers said in a statement accompanying the designation.

The White House and U.S. Central Command did not immediately respond to a request for clarification from The Hill on where forces will be deployed and which incidents Bolton’s statement referenced.

Thank God for President Trump. A man, President who, unlike his predecessor(s), especially Obama and his comrades refuses to align with any rogue state, specifically, Iran. The Democrats will go into a full hissy-fit for Trump’s carrier strike deployment against their ally in arms and diktat, Iran. The enemy, of course, is not merely Iran but the Democratic KKK Party whose allegiances are not with this Republic but those, like them, bent on the destruction of America. The latter’s perfidy is so blatant, it is indicative of the depth of the treasonous cabal of which Iran and the treasonous Democrats are a part.

Yes, beyond tragic; one doesn’t need a crystal ball or read tea leaves to predict the eventuality of our nation’s end. However, unlike, the gutless wonder of the EU and Britain, Americans will rise to defeat these hate-mongering Leftists from the Democrats to every leftist/fascist sucking free air while denying the same freedoms to those they deem the enemy, those right of the political center, Christians and Jews.

While I cannot recall anything I’ve ever disagreed with you about in your posts (past or present), on that statement I am not nearly convinced as you are.

Now if you are saying ‘patriotic Americans’ (many of whom love the Lord) on that I will agree.

But as for the masses, they are the real reason we are where we are right now. They, repeatedly, voted all these people in office-Obama twice and Hillary almost made it.

2020 will not be kind to America.

Exchanging view points is what this site is about. I, honestly, am not convinced myself; I hope that there is a chance I am right but… it is a toss-up. 2020 will not be kind to America; hopefully you are wrong, but with the way the winds are blowing, you are right. I am not a positive person; every now and then I go against my inner-negativism and toss positivity into the wind hoping it will not crash and burn. I hope I am right but I would not lay a wager/bet on it. Take care, stay safe, WM1.

You are right, dad1927; American Patriots are not wusses like those of the EU, Britain and others. Ironically, our speaking this words would be interpreted and white supremacist ranting. It, of course, is nothing of the sort. We the People will not stand-by while our Constitutional Rights and Republic are threatened by the new Master Race/Party, the treasonous Democrats and their Islamic appendage.

I will be impressed when we as Americans remove all the slugs in dc and the states.
When our nationalistic pres brings back ALL of our boys and equipment.
We can do us, the world can do themselves.
We have enough crap to fix here, than be out there trying to fix countries that hate us and use us.
Imagine good roads, people having meaningful jobs, 2/3 less budget, a new natioal pride. Our smaller but faster and more lethal military guarding our borders and providing this country with a reputation that don’t even think about fooking with those crazy people, they will just fook you up.
Back to God, private education that works like it did in the early 1900s, a free thinking society that is not as fraid of speaking their mind no matter what side of the disagreement they are on. That we can have a discussion (and not be talking about killing babies).

First off, I’m a USMC combat veteran who served in northern I Corp along the DMZ during 1967-68. As a young rifleman I experienced my share of combat, mostly against well-armed and well-trained NVA soldiers. I was finally wounded for a third time during a slug-fest battle, a wound that nearly proved fatal.
It has taken me many years and much inner turmoil to come to the decision that the USA should never have been involved in the Vietnam War. And, as numerous “wars of intervention” began to pile up — often on false pretenses — I began to realize that the USA had become a predatory nation, seeking to expand its influence and stronghold on sovereign nations because of the natural resources of those nations. Venezuela is another in a long line of resource-rich nations, sitting atop the world’s most extensive oil reserves. The USA thirsts for that oil, and thus was born the effort to overthrow the duly elected president of Venezuela and replace his regime with “our” hand-picked replacement. Believe me, instilling “democracy” has not one iota to do with the dangerous situation now faced with the nation and people of Venezuela.

It now appears that President Trump (whom I supported) has fallen under the thumb of the empire war-mongering influence of the Deep Swamp neocons. John Bolton and Mike Pompeo have been pressed into Trump’s cabinet with one mission in mind — stop Trump from his pledge of keeping the USA out of these wars of aggression, and pressing ever forward to see that this empirical nation returns to a steady diet of attacking such nations as Venezuela, Iran, and others who have resources that the USA covets and is willing to expend bloodshed and further tragic sacrifices of our men and women serving in our nation’s military.

Take the above for what it’s worth. Venezuela, Iran, North Korea, et al pose no REAL or IMMEDIATE danger to our nation’s borders. Trump is being shackled by the neocons and appears to stand to (under the neocon’s influence) rain death and destruction upon those sovereign nations because of the lust for the resources they hold.

I realize I’ll be blasted for my opinions stated above. But mark my word — bad things lie ahead unless Trump comes to his senses, gets rid of the neocons stinking up his cabinet, and returns to his pre-election promises.

USN – 1968-1974, SE Asia Theater. I disagree, but still will defend your right to state your opinion; Political Correctness be damned. I swore to defend my country from all enemies both foreign and domestic. Iran has shown it’s intentions by attacking a US Ally, which indicates that they have shown hostile intent with their support both financially and materially to terrorist groups attacking civilians.

[I swore to defend my country from all enemies both foreign and domestic.]

Indeed, as did I. But most people underestimate the DOMESTIC enemies that threaten the US. And I speak mainly of the chicken-hawk war mongers such as Dick Cheney, John Bolton, Pompeo, et al. President Trump promised in his pre-election comments to withdraw the US from these “wars du jour.” It seemed as if Trump set out to keep that promise, announcing that our troops would begin withdrawal from the Syrian boondoggle; however, the words had barely left his mouth when he began (under howls of objection and pressure from the neocons) to backtrack on his promises. Shortly afterward he began beating the war drums at Russia (after promising to ease tensions and increase cooperation) between the US and Russia. I could go on, but it’s useless. I would advise all to listen and observe carefully the messages and intent of the USA’s return to blustering.
Keep your enemies close, but your “friends” closer.
