Hamas fires over 150 rockets from Gaza, two seriously injured

29

Would Americans tolerate even one rocket from Mexico or Canada? No, they wouldn’t. No country should be required to live under constant terror. However, the Democrats, the mainstream media, and the UN will condemn Israel when they defend themselves against this barbarity. Pure evil and pure anti-Semitism.

In the next few weeks President Trump will reveal his “Deal of the Century,” to resolve Israel’s endless conflict with the Palestinians. However, if Trump’s plan includes state-hood for the Palestinians, then Israel should reject the plan.

The Palestinians have marketed themselves as perpetual victims. As a people who have been oppressed by the Israelis. Nothing could be further from the truth. On the contrary, it is the Israelis who have been the victims of Palestinian hatred, barbarity, and savagery for close to seven decades.

Story continues below advertisement

It is the Palestinians who have invented modern terror, and who have inflicted unspeakable damage on the Israeli people. They have murdered thousands of Israelis, they have indoctrinated their children to perpetuate this conflict, in the most barbaric way, and they are currently spearheading a campaign to economically isolate and delegitimize (the BDS Movement) Israel. The worlds only Jewish state.

This kind of conduct should not be rewarded with statehood, and will only lead to the murdering of more Israelis.

Hamas fires over 150 rockets from Gaza, two seriously injured, Jerusalem Post, May 3rd, 2019:

Weeks before the Eurovision Song Contest and Israel’s Independence Day, close to 200 rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip towards Israeli communities on Saturday, striking several homes and leaving one elderly woman severely injured from shrapnel.

According to IDF Spokesperson’s Unit dozens of projectiles were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system.

While the majority of rockets launched by Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad struck in open areas, several rockets made direct hits on homes in communities in southern Israel, including in Sderot and Ashkelon.

Magen David Adom reported that an 80 year old woman was injured severely and suffering from shrapnel wounds to her head and limbs. She was evacuated to Barzilai Hospital by MDA teams. Another 50 year old man in Ashkelon was transferred to hospital moderately injured with shrapnel wounds to his limbs.

A 15-year-old boy was lightly injured while running to a shelter and another two suffered from shock.

Incoming rocket sirens began early on Saturday morning and by early afternoon were heard in Israel’s Shefla region and in Kiryat Malachi and Beit Shemesh near Jerusalem.

In response the IDF attacked over 30 targets belonging to Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad across the Gaza Strip.

50 Years of Palestinian Rejection, and the World encourages it, Commentary, Evelyn Gordan, June 8th, 2017:

The 50th anniversary of the Six-Day War, which fell this week, has sparked much hand-wringing about why Israel still controls the West Bank half a century later. By sheer coincidence, Haaretz reporter Amir Tibon produced a scoop this week answering that question. It detailed the precise offer the Obama administration made to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in the final stages of the peace talks it brokered, and how Abbas, once again, walked away without even deigning to respond.

In early 2014, as the end of the nine months of talks agreed to the previous July were drawing to a close, the administration began drafting a “framework agreement” that would serve as the basis for further talks. Tibon obtained two versions of the administration’s proposal.

The first, dating from February 2014, contained a relatively balanced mix of concessions to Israeli and Palestinian demands. For instance, it stipulated a border based on the 1967 lines, as Abbas demanded, but said Palestinian refugees and their descendants would have no “right of return” to Israel, as Israel demanded. It rejected a permanent Israeli military presence in the Jordan Valley, thereby pleasing Abbas. It also pleased Israel by saying the talks must result in a Palestinian state alongside “Israel, the nation-state of the Jewish people.” It also left a few issues open: On Jerusalem, for instance, it merely restated both sides’ aspirations.

Any other sovereign nation, except for Israel, would have the right to eradicate those attacking, firing hundreds of missiles; it is an act of war. Israel, however, is held by a different standard when it comes to self-defense; thanks to worldwide condemnation and loathing, anti-Israel and anti-Semitism; Israel, therefore fights with its hands tied behind its back.

It is not only Hamas that is the perpetrating menace; it is the entirety of the Western faux-Democracies. One may exclude the USA in this gaggle of purported allies, only because of President Trump. It is time for Israel to shirk off the demand of the UN, EU, and other Western, Jihad allies and eradicate those bent on her end.

You say, quite rightly, that ” Israel, however, is held by a different standard when it comes to self-defense.”

I submit that while they may be held to a different standard, the onus is on them if they agree to accept those standards and conform to them.

Israel is a sovereign state, and any sovereign state has a right – and an obligation to take any and all legal action to defend itself from acts of war – regardless of the opinion of others.

Now, the Israelis have been tolerating harassment at the Gaza border for more than a year. Thousands of acres of farm land have been destroyed by arson directed from Gaza – and one soldier of the IDF has been killed, and several more injured. Hundreds of rockets have been fired from Gaza at civilian targets, and Israeli civilians are now losing their lives.

My view is a simple one: If the Israelis do not take decisive steps to deal with this problem, once and for all, they have no one to blame but themselves for the ensuing consequences.

I agree, Michael, as mentioned Israel must shirk off the one-sided, the biases of the world’s criticisms; specifically, those of the UN, EU, and other Western states’. Until they take it upon themselves to eliminate Hamas or others bent on their end; it will continue. I fear that Israel has held itself hostage because of the weaponry agreements with the US and economic ties with other western powers. Fearing, they, Israel would be denounced as the aggressor, a world pariah; the latter of which she is deemed an international pariah by most of the West’s quasi-Democracies who are no more than fair-weather allies.

Indeed, Israel must become the master of its fate, not held to ransom by those untrustworthy, alleged allies.

Good post; it is excellent to get your mind into gear early on a Monday morning, thanks.

These attacks on the nation of Israel by the Palestinian Authority and Hamas have been going on a long time. There have been many attempts at a settlement. The Palestinian Authority and Hamas keep rejecting all offers of settlements. As far as I am concerned Israel has the right to defend itself. Israel should do what ever it takes to put a stop to the capability of the Palestinian Authority and Hamas to launch missiles into Israel and the United States should support this.

They are toying with the Little Satan. They want the Big Satan out of the way first.
Iran would not hesitate to use an ICBM against the U.S.. They don’t need ICBM’s to destroy Israel once they are nuclearized. This is the only reason why some Muslim countries talk to Israel. They also fear Iran and self preservation is temporarily uniting them.

Succinct but excellent commentary. The Arab mentality is so fixed that any possibility of a solution to the problems existing between these continuing protagonists simply does not exist. When you believe in dominance; when you believe it acceptable to be intolerant; when you do not understand that compromise might be best for all involved, you are left without possibility of resolution of the issues involved. I believe that the Arab mentality has all these faults. Unfortunately, though no one is perfect and each nation or group may have its faults, the Arabs have left Israel with no choices except that they must conclude that the only safe and acceptable position for them is to end the conflict (which includes the ability to fire projectiles into Israel willy nelly) as best they can. To end it, I respectfully believe that Israel must take back Gaza, removing therefrom the Arab society and assuming the cost of relocation to Arab countries, determine what is defensible West Bank borders and do the same there with the Arab population, as I just do not believe that Israel is being left with any choice in the matter, except to take such action. Though it is probably in the best interests of the Arab’s to compromise and put there intolerance aside, that seems not to be in the cards. Therefore, they are determining their own fate and consequences.

The PLO has never wanted peace. There were many opportunities for this and they rejected overtures.

Israel is safe under Trump. Once Trump has finished serving, ideally after two terms, my prediction is,
the U.S. will turn against Israel if a DEM or a RINO replaces him. I say that with sadness and because the antisemitism is growing in D.C., across the U.S. and globally. It’s in the open. Facts don’t matter. Our freedom of speech is being used to accelerate it.

It is illegal to import Israeli goods into Malaysia or for Israelis to enter Malaysia. However, in 2018 Malaysia imported $850 million in Israeli goods and exported $85 million to Israel. Imports to Malaysia from Israel are given permits and quietly imported. I suspect many of the goods are drugs and medical equipment. So much for the BDS movement’s effectiveness.

I believe there is no piece of land which is a distinct “State” next to Israel. Israel should kick everyone out of that space by massive force, then say they will arrest anyone who tries to enter there. There, solved it.

If Gaza is in truth an independent country, then Israel should formally make war on it — and conquer it, and shoot its “leaders”, and deport its whole population to Mecca.
