Fran Lebowitz: We Should Turn Trump Over To “The Same Saudis Who Got Rid Of That Reporter”

‘Vanity Fair’ contributor Fran Lebowitz suggested handing over President Trump to Saudi Arabia, “the same Saudis who got rid of that reporter.” Lebowitz was referring to ‘Washington Post’ journalist Jamal Khashoggi who was allegedly murdered and dismembered by security forces close to members of the Saudi Royal family.
Lebowitz made the comment while expressing her displeasure of the “Republican” Mueller report on Friday’s edition of HBO’s ‘Real Time’ with host Bill Maher. Her comment garnered some applause in the studio audience.
Story continues below advertisement“I didn’t have the highest hopes for the Mueller report only because I remembered Robert Mueller was [a] Republican and he was ahead of the FBI. So I didn’t, like, think he was the second coming of Thurgood Marshall as many people seem to imagine,” Lebowitz lamented.
“The most youthful thing about me is that I’ve retained an ability to be shocked by these people. So I was shocked by Barr. I was shocked. It’s shocking. It’s shocking. It’s a criminal thing that he did,” Lebowitz griped.
“Where are you on impeachment? Yes? No?” host Bill Maher asked.
“I change my mind from day to day,” she said. “Impeachment would be just the beginning of what he deserves. Not even scratching the surface of what he deserves.”
“Whenever I think about this and what he really deserves I think we should turn him over to the Saudis,” Lebowitz said of Trump. “You know, his buddies. The same Saudis who got rid of that reporter. You know, Maybe they could do the same for him,” Lebowitz said.
Following the broadcast on the online-only ‘Overtime’ portion that airs on YouTube, Lebowitz said she regretted her comments and apologized.
“I didn’t realize that I had said it. I had 12 cups of coffee. I regret saying it… I did not mean that and I regret saying it. I regret that everyone misinterpreted it,” Lebowitz apologized.

From my perspective, the fact she said what she said speaks volumes, even though she subsequently blamed her words on caffeine and purportedly apologized. Considering that her comments were made on Bill Maher’s show also speaks volumes. I do not now watch his show, as I think of him as a whiner and unjustified hater of everything he disagrees with. Maher acts and conducts himself in an unapologetic manner that I find repulsive. Though I consider myself a centrist, whenever I hear comments from Maher they are always slanted in an extreme left resolve. He just seems unable to open his mind and deal with reality as his liberal views seem to disable him from doing so. We are dealing with people that get their satisfaction by whining. The bottom line is that these whiners out there are contributing immensely to the divisiveness that seems to be overwhelming this country, and these whiners do not seem to give a damn about what they are doing to this great nation. Why bother to apologize? You can not ” misinterpret ” what was said. I had never heard of her before. At first I didn’t know if it was a male or a female. Again, she has proven my point that people outside of politics do not understand how it really works. When you take a photographer, who works through a lens, and give her political clout because of her political leanings, you might as well listen to a dog catcher. Every person who votes has an opinion, and only some points are valid. We give credence to what actors and news readers have to say. We listen to “no-talents” like Kim Kardashian. Their only importance is the amount of “followers” they have, and that is sad.
Most of us had no idea Leibowitz was still alive. We remember some of her photos of celebs, but that was a singular accomplishment. If she had a reputation like Eric Hoffer, a longshoreman, I would listen to what she had to say and give it additional thought, but she is not him, and was never known for “thinking.”
I obviously like what Trump is doing and what he has already done. We may be allied with the Saudi government, but their internal affairs are not under “our” control.
What Leibowitz fails to see is that Khashoggi was an enemy agent to the Saudis and what they did to him was an internal matter. They were protecting themselves, just as Iran does, as well as us. Only this man had press credentials from the Washington Post, which was a sham. He was not a reporter, and the WaPo is not a regular newspaper. It is 99% political, and leftist.
So, let Leibowitz get her Lesbian thrills taking pictures of starlits. She did well when she stuck to what she does, but when she ventures away, she is out of her league.
