Teen pleads guilty to plotting terror attack at Texas mall
DALLAS – A suburban Dallas teenager has pleaded guilty to plotting an Islamic State group-inspired mass shooting at a North Texas mall.

Story continues below advertisementA state judge sentenced Matin Azizi-Yarand to 20 years in prison Monday for solicitation of capital murder and making a terroristic threat, state and federal prosecutors announced. The 18-year-old is eligible for parole after serving 10 years.
Azizi-Yarand was arrested last May for plotting to shoot civilians and police at a Frisco mall in a rampage authorities said he was timing to coincide with Ramadan. IS has called on its supporters to carry out attacks during the Muslim holy month.
The then-high school student had been recruiting others to participate in the shooting and planned to explain it with the release of a “Message to America,” according to prosecutors. He spent more than $1,400 buying weapons and tactical gear, and had been conducting surveillance of the mall.
Azizi-Yarand believes his plea agreement is a “fair deal” and is ready to begin his prison term, his lawyer, Mitch Nolte, told The Associated Press.
Azizi-Yarand was indicted in July , but his age presented a challenge for prosecutors.
Terrorism cases are typically brought in federal court. But because Azizi-Yarand was 17 at the time of the crime and a minor under federal law, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Texas was limited in the charges they could bring against him.
It’s “extremely rare” for someone to be prosecuted for terrorism charges state court, U.S. Attorney Joseph Brown said Monday at a press conference.

I call the local news entity round here “The Dallas Muslim News” for their countless puff pieces rationalizing Islam, sharia law and all things Muslim. Azizi’s gonna do twenty years, but here’s my comment on the story in the online DMN, which was reviewed by the Ayatollahs of propriety there, deemed unsuitable, and thus disabled. Here it is…..

The Holy Land Foundation Trial, 2008, revealed all the material the registered Islamic organizations in America had regarding their targeted institutes for stealth subversion, as per the Muslim Brotherhood dictates (remember when HRC declared them good guys). Apart from many convictions and some prison time, what happened to this identified domestic threat. Bob Mueller, head of the FBI back then, dismantled the team trained in terrorism and destroyed all related material. Does that make any sense to anybody who’s a patriot?
What’s more, the MSM behaves as though no such EVIDENCE was ever found, and vilifies anyone who speaks against it. In today’s postings from Pamela, look at what is happening in the UK to that mother of four, sending her to prison for expressing her opinion PRIVATELY.
If that murdering bitch had made it to the WH, America would be well on her way to the same totalitarian state or immersed in a devastating civil war. Be prepared, it will come here soon enough.

Is it just me or does it seem after the attacks of 9/11 that Muslim gains have actually made leaps and bounds when one would have thought the opposite would have been true and for some reason I blame Bush to a large degree for legitimizing these beast. Maybe it’s just me.

No, it’s not just you. GWB is the one that started the lie that Islam is a religion of peace. Since then, both parties have continued to cover up for them. It is Islam that will always be “radical”. Islam is a growing cancer in our country. I see nothing good in our future with them. We can’t keep pretending there is anything good about Islam.

No, it is not just you. Shockingly and most ironically, 9/11 was the greatest thing to happen for Islam and the Muslim invasion / hijrah!!! They slaughter 3000+ and Bush rolled out the welcome mat bringing many unknown thousands to take root here. And, of course, Obama kept the influx / invasion / conquest going strong! More Muslims invaded America in the period after 9/11 than in the entire prior history of the U.S. If I were the boss, after 9/11, I would have stopped all immigration and rounded up and expelled all Muslims immediately, but what do I know? And unfortunately, contrary to what Trump says, don’t think it’s getting any better.

caliroxanne. When Trump says things are getting better, and they are, he is talking specifically about the overall condition of America which is primarily the economy. He has never addressed openly how he feels about Islam. We do know however, that he has constantly sought to ban Muslims from terrorist countries from coming to the U.S. I think he would like to ban them all permanently, and deport most of the ones already in the U.S. Democrats always try to block his efforts though, and most of the time manage to delay it. In spite of the overall condition of America improving, it is true that as far as the Muslim situation in America, it is getting worse. Too many Leftists, Democrats and activist Judges try to accommodate them in any and all things, and give them preferential treatment over and above the rest of us. They are gradually eroding U.S. Constitutional law and replacing it with Sharia law.

caliroxanne. He is trying, but each time he comes out with one directly against Muslim terrorists or illegal aliens he is blocked by the leftist courts. Such as banning people from certain countries or deporting illegal aliens. With the ban, he had to try several different EO’s and finally the Supreme court affirmed one and it was enabled but it did not go as far as he wanted. With deporting aliens his EO’s were blocked every time by an injunction. He had to do an end run and declare a national emergency to keep the illegals out via building a wall, and threaten to take illegals to sanctuary cities rather than Mexico until their court date in order to try to keep their numbers from increasing. The leftists are challenging executive power constantly, and making running the country as he wants to run it very difficult. They have stifled his first term, and it has gotten worse since the Demonrats gained control of the U.S. House. He is learning though, and by his second term he will have applied a firestorm to keep the Demonrats painted into a corner. This may even begin before his first term ends.

A timely reminder that was emblematic of the treachery that the Obama administration and his adoring Democrat acolytes so completely embraced. For those unfamiliar with the incident:
Had the murderer cited Adolph Hitler- who, like Mohammad, also detested homosexuals- there can be little doubt that Lynch would not have deleted said references, but, instead, would have highlighted the danger of “right wing extremism”. As it was, nothing to see there, move along.
Here, from the article cited above, was DOJ’s song and dance about why they removed inconvenient references in their transcript:
“The purpose of releasing the partial transcript of the shooter’s interaction with 911 operators was to provide transparency, while remaining sensitive to the interests of the surviving victims, their families, and the integrity of the ongoing investigation. We also did not want to provide the killer or terrorist organizations with a publicity platform for hateful propaganda. Unfortunately, the unreleased portions of the transcript that named the terrorist organizations and leaders have caused an unnecessary distraction from the hard work that the FBI and our law enforcement partners have been doing to investigate this heinous crime. This Muslim may be eligible for parole after only ten years, but being eligible does not guarantee he will be paroled. I think unless and until he can show evidence that he has given up the Jihad component of his behavior, he should not be granted release, and should serve the full twenty year term. One or more people at the mall at the time, should keep in touch with the Parole Board and give written objections to his release at each Parole hearing. They can make sure he serves the entire 20 year sentence unless he repents in a substantive way, but it takes action to insure it. He may be released early otherwise.
