Isaiah Washington thanks President Trump for First Step Act, criticizes Barack Obama for not supporting ‘Black Agenda’

The Democrat party has done everything to keep African Americans down on the proverbial plantation. Democrats were the party of slavery in the lead-up to the Civil War. The Democrats merely replaced slavery with a cradle-to-grave entitlement system that trades liberty for a different form of bondage. Isaiah Washington thanks Trump for First Step Act, criticizes Barack Obama for not supporting ‘Black Agenda’

Actor Isaiah Washington tweeted his thanks for President Trump’s support of the First Step Act while also criticizing former President Obama for a lack of action regarding “the Black Agenda.”

By FOX News, April 2, 2019:

Washington tweeted on Monday his praise for Trump and the passing of the First Step Act, which is dedicated to criminal justice reform and prisoner rehabilitation. The actor was invited to D.C. to celebrate the legislation and hear calls for more reform, which he says Trump’s predecessor never did.

“I voted for 44 twice. I even checked my emails in his Senate Office while lobbying for Salone to be given another chance to rebrand,” the former “Grey’s Anatomy” star wrote. “Not once in 8 years was I given any support regarding Africa or the Black Agenda, but 45 invites me to the WH to celebrate the #FirstStepAct.”

In follow-up tweets, Washington noted that the bill is the first step to “end mass incarceration” and called for Trump to deliver reparations in 2020.

The First Step Act, which was passed by Congress last year, gives judges more discretion when sentencing some drug offenders and boosts prisoner rehabilitation efforts. The effort drew strong support from Republicans and Democrats, as both sides were worried that mandatory minimum laws had generated unfair sentences in many drug-related cases.

Trump said Americans with criminal backgrounds are unemployed at rates up to five times the national average, which stood at 3.8 percent in February.

Washington followed up his initial tweets about going to the White House with a series of photos alongside prominent men and women who he says worked to get the First Step Act passed.

“Those who know, know that I’m not a Democrat or a Republican. I will work w/h anyone as long as things get done. The #FirstStepAct was passed on December 21, 2018 w/h the hard work of @JessyMichele @LouislReed @VanJones68 and @cut_50 I’m proud to stand with them all today,” Washington wrote.

Washington also shared a handful of videos from inside the East Room where the president and vice president spoke with former prisoners who have been helped through the First Step Act.

Trump said a “Second Step Act” will focus on “successful re-entry and reduced unemployment for Americans with past criminal records.” His goal is to cut that unemployment rate for ex-prisoners to single digits within five years.

The president was short on details about what future legislation would include, but the White House said Trump’s budget for the next fiscal year proposes more than $500 million to help prisoners succeed after their release.

Thank Javanka for this. Jared’s dad, served time in federal prison for embezzlement. Chris Christie helped prosecute Charles Kushner. That’s why Christie was kicked off the transition team. Jared could not accept that HIS father should have been convicted and sent to prison. Jared is all about LIBERAL SNOBBERY only this time his father was convicted. The Kushners are a trashy family. Jared managed to FUBAR business dealings in trying to take over his father’s business dealings. Jared is a total failure that Trump is trying to prop up because he is married to Ivanka. Jared is a MORON! He is a resentful, spoiled child that still harbors a grudge that HIS father is a rightfully convicted FELON!

In 2005, following an investigation by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey, U.S. Attorney Chris Christie negotiated a plea agreement with Charles Kushner, under which he pleaded guilty to 18 counts of illegal campaign contributions, tax evasion, and witness tampering. The witness-tampering charge arose from Kushner’s act of retaliation against William Schulder, his sister Esther’s husband, who was cooperating with federal investigators; Charles Kushner hired a prostitute to seduce his brother-in-law, arranged to record an encounter between the two, and had the tape sent to his sister. He was sentenced to two years in prison, and served 14 months at Federal Prison Camp, Montgomery in Alabama before being sent to a halfway house in Newark, New Jersey, to complete his sentence. He was released from prison on August 25, 2006. As a result of his convictions, Charles was disbarred, prohibited from practicing law in New Jersey,New York, and Pennsylvania.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Kushner

Charles Kushner also helped his son get into Harvard, author Daniel Golden, who wrote
The Price of Admissions: How America’s Ruling Class Buys Its Way Into Elite Colleges, reports. When Jared Kushner was admitted to Harvard, even though he had poor grades, Kushner donated $2.5 million to the university. Donations were also done for Trump kids….. Ivanka is also an idiot! It’s frightening to have these unelected, snobby limousine liberals making policy.. I am totally against NEPOTISM in any form. I’d rather have had Bannon in the WH than these two airhead Hillary surrogates.

Yes Jared is an IDIOT! I wouldn’t be surprised if Jared married Ivanka for Trump money. It’s Ivanak that chased after Jared and pushed the relationship. The Kushners hate Ivanka and didn’t want them marrying. The Kushners HATE DJT but have used the Trump name for influence – buying citizenship through “investing in jobs” and other shady dealings they were forced to abandon after it became known. The Kushners are bad news…

If we are having an OPIOID CRISIS, why are we releasing DRUG DEALERS? Giving liberal judges more discretion is unwise in most situations… We’ll see… What they do need is more black clergy in there. If you don’t change their hearts and minds, this will be another failed program that costs us money. Throwing money at problems NEVER works. Never! I’m not entirely on board with this program…

Wow, what a great idea to have clergy be part of incarceration. Just not islamic. Prisons are recruiting grounds for jihadis. But others, totally agree that should be part of the prison system.

I don’t praise Trump and Javanka for this. It’s a terrible idea hat like every past sentencing reform will cause an increase in crime. Independent studies show that in surbaban and rural areas whites receive stiffer penalties for the same crimes as the inner cities, which are overwhelmingly dominated by black crime. The reason is that the courts are so badly backed up in the cities and DAs overworked. Most of the reported crimes is just the plea “bargain” wherein the DA seeks the stiffest sentence and the defense attorney will recommend a plea to the lesser of many charged crimes. In the cases that “seem” harsh, the possession plea represents large quantities for sale, evidence of sale, gun possesion, assaults and resisting arrest charges, and even suspicion of murder that like most charges can’t be proved because of pervasive witness intimidation. Furthermore, blacks are not disproportionately charged, prosecuted and convicted. Those numbers accurately reflect the percentages that they commit those offenses. And that last is the forbidden conversation.

I read on NewsMax about this. Although it was almost refreshing to hear a black actor actually praising Trump, he also said that the President should go a bit further and also offer “reparations”. That’s when I clicked off the story….
