Attorney General William Barr Says He Thinks FBI Spied on Trump Campaign

27

It’s as I always said. Regular Geller Report readers have long known this. It is high treason. And while this is uncharted territory, these traitorous criminals must be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. The FBI, the Democrats, and high government officials conspired to have the lawfully elected President removed in a coup. There must be prosecutions and preventative measures taken so that this does not happen again.

“Attorney General William Barr Says He Thinks FBI Spied on Trump Campaign,” by Kristina Wong, Breitbart, April 10, 2019:

Attorney General William Barr told senators during a hearing Wednesday that he thinks that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) did spy on the Trump campaign.

Story continues below advertisement

“Yes, I think spying did occur,” Barr said. “But the question is whether it was predicated — adequately predicated, and I’m not suggesting that it wasn’t adequately predicated, but I need to explore that. I think it’s my obligation. Congress is usually concerned about intelligence agencies and law enforcement agencies staying in their proper lane, and I want to make sure that happened. We have a lot of rules about that.”

The attorney general said that he has not yet set up a team to review the FBI’s actions, despite a Bloomberg report on Tuesday that alleged he has formed a team.

“I haven’t set up a team yet but I have in mind having some colleagues pull all this information together and let me know whether there’s some areas that should be looked at,” he said.

Barr first announced during a House hearing on Tuesday that he would investigate the FBI’s “conduct” in investigating the Trump campaign.

“I am reviewing the conduct of the investigation and trying to get my arms around all the aspects of the counterintelligence investigation that was conducted during the summer of 2016,” Barr said.

On Wednesday, he told senators while testifying on the Justice Department’s fiscal year 2020 budget that he would be reviewing “both the genesis and the conduct” of intelligence activities directed at the Trump campaign.

“I am going to be reviewing both the genesis and the conduct of intelligence activities directed at the Trump campaign during 2016,” he said.

Barr said he would pull together the information from various investigations from the Justice Department inspector general, within the DOJ, and from Congress to see whether there are “remaining questions” to be addressed.

Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) asked Barr to share “why you feel the need to do that.”

Barr responded, “Well, for the same reason we’re worried about foreign influence in elections. We want to make sure that — I think spying on a political campaign is a big deal. It’s a big deal.”

Barr said during the Vietnam War period, people were concerned about government spying on anti-war protesters and a lot of rules were put in place to make sure there was an adequate basis before law enforcement agencies got involved in “political surveillance.”

“I’m not suggesting that those rules were violated, but I think it’s important to look at that. And I’m not just — I’m not talking about the FBI necessarily, but intelligence agencies more broadly,” he said

Barr added that he wanted to make clear that he was not launching an investigation into the FBI — just those who may have engaged in improper activities.

“To the extent there were any issues at the FBI, I do not view it as a problem that’s endemic to the FBI, I think there was probably a failure among a group of leaders there at the upper echelon.”

He said if it became necessary to look over some former officials’ activities, he would be relying heavily on FBI Director Christopher Wray and “work closely with him in looking at that information.”

“I feel I have an obligation to make sure that government power is not abused, I mean I think that’s one of the principal roles of Attorney General,” he said….

The plot thickens, Barr is implying that which many on this site and others suspected. The FBI has and is continuing to enable the toxic swamp’s bottom-feeders. For once, an AG who is not fearful of those bent on sedition and usurping President Trump. Their identities are no secret, let justice begin. Well, that said, there is always hope that for once the perfidious likes of Obama, Clinton and others will pay for their corruption and treason.

Zig, I also am glad this is getting a full vetting by people intimately familiar with the law and the investigative process. Having the power of subpoena is a big help. But I think it’s important to keep Barr’s statement in its context:

But the question is whether it was predicated — adequately predicated, and I’m not suggesting that it wasn’t adequately predicated, but I need to explore that.

I suspect Obama, Jarrett & Rice used intel & law enforcement agencies for partisan purposes. But I also will hazard a guess that they stayed within the bounds of the law. Hence, they are on safe ground legally. But the American people do deserve a full accounting of this issue.

Agreed, the American people deserve a full accounting of this issue. Now, whether or not we, the people, receive a full accounting is for another day.

He still thinks FBi spied ! while demonrat gang laughs at his ignorance !

Clinton mafia still active after Trump takeover as they kill another witness
to email investigation http://tinyurl.com/y8p9cv5l

They know their hold overs in FBI / DOJ /NSC will help them out !

Unless they are totally purged including Left/Liberal judges to keep out their bias …its uphill task to prosecute them.

Agreed, Suresh, the Deep State is embedded in the gut of those you mention. The purging of those within the judiciary or elsewhere will never come to pass. Those enabling the Democrats’ perfidy, and corruption would end up with the indictment of a myriad of those partaking in any criminal or treasonous acts. I am sure, also, that their are RINOS who would, also, fight it to the bitter end. It is difficult to hold any sense of positivity when it comes to the opportunity of prosecution.

Clintons’ Mafia are well protected, not only within the government and its agencies but the MSM, Globalists, and needless to say, Soros.

However Trump is replacing judges at a tremendous rate and by Mc Connell finally pulling the nuke trigger and requiring a simple majority vote and one hour of debate they will even go faster.

Ziggy, It is already going faster. One of the main things Obama and the Democrats felt was most important was to keep Trump from appointing judges they wanted the leftwing lock on our judiciary so they used the rules in place to slow it to a crawl. McConnell’s nuke option by limiting to 1 hour of debate and just a majority vote has derailed them. Stopping the endless debate. They are also stunned that Trump got 2 SCOTUS nominees through and may get a third or even 2 more. Make no mistake Obama is behind all the spying and assault on this POTUS

I am convinced and we will find at the end that Obama ordered the attack on the Trump Campaign. You can take that to the bank. He will have it set up where he tries to hide behind his aids. Mostly females that cover for him. I will never understand why women were so enamored of Obuzzard.

Hope so!
What worries me is his close friendship with Bob Mueller.
They go back decades and very close today.
This garbage has really hurt our country.

This is no different then the successFOOL usurpation by the Demoncraps of installing a illegal and unconstitutional Negro foreign sodomite who nobody knows where the hell he was born. His BC was clearly altered and one who could shed light on this was killed in a plane crash.

This was their second attempt to USURP the office. The Negro was allowed two FOOL terms and I reckoned correctly that he STUFFED every agency with leftist like himself. Washington is invested with white-hating waycist from top to bottom and explains why Trump is having a hard time up there.

The Negro did incrediBULL damage. They were going to send the woman next, the one they called Hillaryous, to finish you all OFF.

You want to destroy something? Just send in the women and the Negroes. Demoncraps know all about them.

This should come as no great shock to anyone who paid attention to the 2016 presidential primary process. Remember when Trump announced that he was moving his campaign HQ out of Trump Tower because his phones were being tapped and was accused of soap opera theatrics?

Someone in the intel community had tipped him off. Where are those critics now?

I had an uncle who was in the FBI during WWII and was part of Einstein’s protection detail. He is not turning over in his grave, he is spinning.

I saw his televised response on TV. He was being questioned, and the people asking sounded like they expected him to say there was no collusion. They pumped him for an answer, and he finally gave them one.
No Conservative wants to make assertations of collusion without hard proof. Democrats would use innuendo instead of proof. The actual investigation was whether the Trump camp willfully colluded with the Russians. Trump says he didn’t, so the Democrats demanded an investigation. When it did not yeild what they wanted, they had a tantrum.
But there was collusion and everybody knew it. The collusion was not from Russia, but inside the Democrat Party. It had to do with fake accusations, and how they could hurt a new president. This was a case of the Old Guard protecting its image and fighting the people who no longer stand by the status quo. We voted Trump in, and not Hillary. The press denied this could ever happen, even as they didn’t bother to find out why. Why? Because both Hillary and Obama are vindicative and would not accept the vote of the real American people.
Some people forget that our “greatest” president, Lincoln, only garnered 40% of the votes. And that was before the day when people could vote without worry of illegal aliens in the next booth. The Electoral College did its job. And now we have voter fraud rampant in all Democrat districts, and they refuse to want voter I.D. laws.
Where are we going?

It is my personal contention that The Obama via his Sec of State Hillary Clinton used government resources to spy on not just the Trump Campaign but those actively opposed to The Obama especially from 2011 to 2016, period! I believe that Your’s Truly as a humble, anti-Obama activist was a target of the Democratic effort to short-circuit anti-Obama online activism and opposition! I also think rogue government agencies especially the FBI and IRS filled with Obama appointees went after folks like me and kept it up after Pres Trump got elected!
If Pres. Trump had gone down like they planned, we would have been next, folks! Thank God for Pres. Donald Trump and he was absolutely right when he said that he was the only Republican who could fight these people and win!

Barr admitted he had no actual information to back the claim, which means he was speculating. How’d you miss that?
