Trump says he will sign executive order to promote free speech on university campuses

17

A wonderful initiative, but no one will invite those who speak the truth about Islam and jihad to speak. It has been years since my colleagues and I have been invited to speak, so afraid are students of being the object of scorn, derision and in many cases physical abuse. What needs to done — for every left-wing speaker who is invited (and that is almost every one) — a rational, right wing speaker must be invited as well.

My colleagues and I are effectively banned from college and university campuses, as is the truth about the jihad threat. That must be addressed immediately.

“Trump says he will sign executive order to promote free speech on university campuses,” by David Sherfinski, Washington Times, March 2, 2019 (thanks to Mark):

President Trump on Saturday announced he plans to sign an executive order soon requiring colleges and universities that accept federal research money to support free speech rights.

Mr. Trump made the announcement at the 2019 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) after he called up onstage Hayden Williams, a conservative activist who was assaulted while on a recent recruiting trip to the University of California, Berkeley.

“If they want our dollars and we give it to them by the billions, they [have] got to allow people like Hayden and many other great young people…to speak,” the president said….

Uh, excuse me, President Trump. ISN’T FREE SPEECH COVERED UNDER THE U.S. CONSTITUTION’S 1ST AMENDMENT? Now, we have to enforce an already Federal law? Whhhhaaatttt?

Actually, what President Trump should do is come up with something that says, “anyone on any College campus (student or faculty) that prevents another student or faculty member from exercising their 1st Amendment rights, will be locked up and their own rights removed for 24 hours, 1 week and up to 10 years in prison. TURNABOUT IS FAIR PLAY, HUH LIBERALS? Oh, that’s right, you liberals and communists say, “not for me, just for thee” when it comes to the Constitution. I SEE.

THESE PEOPLE WHO ARE DEPRIVED OF THEIR 1ST AMENDMENT AND NOT ALLOWED TO SPEAK ON CAMPUSES FREELY, SHOULD SUE THOSE IDIOTS ALL THE WAY TO THE SCOTUS. And, then, when they win, they should be reimbursed for all attorney fees, along with millions in damages. THAT should shut communists up for awhile.

It is! Do you see anyone challenging the lack of free speech on campuses?

“President Trump on Saturday announced he plans to sign an executive order soon requiring
colleges and universities that accept federal research money to support free speech rights.

Trump always leverages money when he doesn’t have the support of the swamp or the legal system.
Look at sanctuary cities. That shouldn’t be legal either. He tried withdrawing federal money from that and is being challenged legally. Sessions recused himself. Rosenstein the default AG could care less. Whitaker did nothing as the interim AG. Maybe Barr will do something? Trump gets little to NO support in D.C..

Trump has always had U.S. CONSTITUTION to support him, just not the guts to act and order the DOJ/FBI must arrest those in authority at leftist colleges that obstruct FREE SPEECH.

While I must commend President Trump’s calling out, in a roundabout
way, the fact that our schools are refusing to allow any dissent that they
consider anti-liberal or islamophobic, there is something far more important
that he can do. He ought to be asking his AG and his legal staff what are the legal
remedies that might be available to the federal government and our states to
prosecute those out in our society who wrongly claim to use our Constitutions
Bill of Rights, which grants free speech, to promote and preach violence
against any person or group. Our Supreme Court has long ago ruled that “free
speech” does not allow anyone to falsely call out “fire” in a situation where
injury to others could and likely would occur. Today, non-Muslims, especially
those of Jewish persuasion, are facing promoted hate, that is prompting violence
against those who are non-Muslims that often leads to violence. Why do we allow
this? The leaders within the Islamic communities are promoting and preaching
from their pulpits that kind of direction, and they know that it will trigger,
as they claim it is supposed to do, violence from the radicals among them. This
should not be tolerated. Our Pres. should recommend out loud to the legal
community that such conduct should be stopped based on the fact that nowhere in
our Constitution is free speech meant to allow that dangerous rhetoric, whether
it is based on false religious claims or otherwise. If he does that, maybe
those who believe in Islam might recognize that to be a patriotic American, one
must be respectful of all “others,” accept the concept of good neighborliness,
and reject all conduct that is the opposite of harmonious living in our
American society. A tall order, I know, but I believe it must be the first step
in a movement against hate and violence.

Arrest those in authority at leftist colleges that obstruct FREE SPEECH.

It is just that simple.

Exactly! Trump’s BS PROPOSAL is laughably weak and the wrong direction to take.

The DOJ/FBI must arrest those in authority at leftist colleges that obstruct FREE SPEECH.

Sadly, I think Trump has never read the U.S. CONSTITUTION, the AMENDMENTS or any related US LAWS.

LOL!

No Trump never promised an Executive Order to eliminate birth right citizenship.
On it’s face that is laughable. It’s something he believes needs to be addressed – LEGALLY!
To challenge birth right citizenship, it will have to go through the courts and probably be decided by the U.S. Supreme Court. Have you identified the right case for that or is it more fun to put out bizarre promises that were never made? That is a 14th Amendment issue of interpretation. You don’t Executive Order that away!

I’d also like to see DUAL CITIZENSHIP challenged.

Universities get more money from Muhammadist tyrannies than from the government from what I understand.
Universities should become a source of truth & justice, human rights & ecology.
Universities should teach that
– Hitler viewed the unjust Muhammadism as ultimate Nazi religion that as he told his architect & minister of war Albert Speer matches the German temperament better. Ahmed Huber who claimed to have been a friend of Hitler said that Hitler has said “The only religion I respect is Islam. The only prophet I admire is Muhammad.”
Many Nazi criminals openly converted to the unjust Muhammadism after the war & worked in the Egyptian Muhammadist tyranny under Nasser & in Syria.
– Today Africans are enslaved, castrated, divorced, beaten & killed in Saudi Arabia & enslaved in the UAE, Oman, Yemen, Kuwait, Lebanon, Bahrain, Iraq, North-Sudan, Libya (surge), Algeria (surge), Mauritania (20 percent), Niger, Mali, Somalia, Nigeria in emulation of unjust Muhammad who started the global African slave-trade by saying his unproven deity had turned Africans black so Africans’ descendants would be slaves to Arabs & Turks (see Wikiislam).
– Unjust Muhammad commanded to “kill the unbelievers wherever you can find them”, said his Messiah would return when trees & stones would lure Muhammadists to unjustly murder Jews, commanded to kill atheists, declared Africans slaves, commanded to burn people that didn’t attend prayers, crucified critics, commanded to kill people in their sleep, commanded the forcible lifelong torture of declitorization of girls, forced theism on anyone, said that who doesn’t join the Ramadan-fast “is not a Muslim. He can be killed.”, said that parents can kill their children, because they’re their parents, raped, tortured, said Non-muhammadists can be eaten, commanded to beat children, promoted inbreeding, declared war on atheists, Jews & all other Non-muhammadists & ‘kissed’ penises of boys & sucked boys’ tongues & lips.

Those in politics and the media who see fit to deny the First Amendment liberties of freedom of expression of others need to be reminded that those are the very same constitutional liberties that allow open political discourse and a free media to even exist in the first place.

Any executive order demanding free speech on college campuses has to have teeth. The best is to cut off federal funding for any college or university that suppresses free speech.

Pam, do you inform the President of this issue so he can address it? I’m pretty sure he’s a free thinking man and would expect the same freedom to be given to ALL Americans!
You cannot give a fair evaluation of a topic if you don’t hear a debate on both sides. It’s the universities responsibility as an education facility to allow a reasonable argument from all sides and opinions.
President Trump needs to get onto this and make it compulsory for all universities to allow any speakers who have no criminal background and who are not a hateful, violent, un-patriotic person or group!

This is huge. A start. The beginning of the end, perhaps, for the leftist tyranny of the last 50 + years. Ever since the word “racist” was created and accepted as an epithet against anyone disagreeing with the leftist orthodoxy and narrative in the 1960s, conservatives have been on the defensive while hateful progressives shut out conflicting views and silenced people. After the debacle of the Goldwater defeat, Republicans fled to hunkering down and toning down their rhetoric. They focused on editing the excesses and nitpicking the worst of the leftist language, but largely submitted to the demagogic programs that created dependencies and excluded minorities from real participation in the job market. Thank God for President Trump1
