Dallas’ biggest billboard company refuses to run public service ad to help at-risk Muslim girls while running ads promoting hijab and “honor”

Pamela Geller: Dallas Billboard Company Refuses My Ad Offering Help to At-Risk Muslim Girls

It is quickly becoming impossible to criticize any aspect of Islam, no matter how violent or repressive, in the public square. My latest billboard battle is a case in point.

A month ago, a number of concerned Texans wrote me about a hijab promotion campaign on Outfront (previously known as CBS Outdoor) billboards running in Dallas. Local media wrote it up in glowing terms, of course.

KERA News ran a puff piece with the enthusiastic headline “Billboard Campaign In Dallas Aims To Dispel Misconceptions About Islam And The Hijab.” It featured a large photo of the billboard itself, which read “Respect – Honor – Strength. HIJAB. The Dress of Modesty.” It also offered a phone number for those with “questions about Islam and women.” Not a word, of course, about the many girls and women who have been threatened and even killed for not wearing the hijab in a practice commonly known as “honor killing.” This ad’s use of the word “honor” is especially cynical.

Story continues below advertisement

And then, of course, comes the post-ad followup describing horrific responses to the ad. The New York Post just ran yet another Muslims-are-victims-of-Islamophobia piece: “Muslim call center gets hundreds of hate calls for promoting hijabs on billboard.”

American media companies run these ads without hesitation, for fear of violating Islamic mores and traditions and appearing “Islamophobic” — a thought-crushing device designed to silence criticism of Islam, thereby enforcing sharia. The ads garner media attention, paint Muslims as victims, admonish Americans for things they haven’t done, and decry a non-existent epidemic of Islamophobia.

This billboard is the handiwork of the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA). Neither KERA News nor any other news outlet that ran glowing coverage of this billboard bothered to mention that ICNA, according to terrorism expert Steven Emerson, and a report by Discover the Networks, is linked to radial Islamic movements such as the Muslim Brotherhood, the pro-Sharia organization from which Hamas and al-Qaeda come.

Says Emerson: “The ICNA’s hatred of the Jews is so fierce that it taunted them with a repetition of what Hitler did to them… The ICNA openly supports militant Islamic fundamentalist organizations, praises terror attacks, issues incendiary attacks on western values and policies, and supports the imposition of Sharia.”

ICNA’s January 2019 conference, with 20,000 attendees, featured a disquieting roster of participants and speakers with extremist views on slavery, homosexuality and Jews.

My organization, the American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI), on the other hand, is a human rights group dedicated to freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, and individual rights. We have been targeted for death multiple times and escaped death in recent assassination attempts because of our work in defense of freedom.

AFDI submitted an ad to run on Dallas billboards right next to ICNA’s hijab “honor and respect” ad. But as of this writing, I have had to revise the ad over a dozen times to comply with Outfront (CBS) Outdoor’s constantly changing ad policy.

The first ad I submitted featured photos of a number of Muslim girls who were honor-murdered by their families for refusing to wear the hijab. Above the photos was the legend, “Muslim Girls Killed By Their Families Because They Refused Hijab,” and underneath, “Are you forced to wear hijab? Is your family threatening you? We can help. Go to FightforFreedom.us.”

Outdoor wouldn’t allow that; its General Manager Zack Danielson wrote me: “Good morning. I just received word that we cannot accept this copy due to the top tag line ‘Muslim Girls Killed By Their Families Because They Refused Hijab’. Is there any way you all can remove that line and leave everything else as is? Thank you.”

I responded: “But they were honor murdered by their families because they did not want to wear hijab – they wanted to be free. If I take that line out nobody understands who those girls are and by the way there from America and Canada. So what would be acceptable? ‘Honor killed by their families’ Would that work?”

To that, Senior Account Executive Sammy Tamporello replied: “I understand what you are saying, but as mentioned below whether I agree or not ultimately I cannot post creative that goes against our companies [sic] policy/approval process. Anything with the killed, murdered, or type of violence is not going to get approved.”

So I changed the top line to “Muslim Girls Who Refused the Hijab – R.I.P.” Tamporello responded: “Thanks for your assistance. If you all can eliminate the RIP, we will be good to go and I can send over the contract.” I said: “Sammy, I cannot eliminate the RIP – those girls are dead. How else would you have me convey that message? How about, ‘Rest in peace.’” Then I sent in a new ad reading: “In Memory of the Muslim Girls Who Refused Hijab.”

That was refused as well. Tamporello wrote: “Our corporate office just informed me that the top line needs to be removed or needs to not include a ‘death reference’ i.e.  In Memory, RIP, or Condolences, etc.”

Then I wrote: “Sammy, Can you explain how Outfront is running a campaign promoting the hijab but refuses to allow a campaign offering help to Muslim girls who don’t want to wear the hijab? Why? Why would Outftont take sides against freedom in Texas of all places. What wording would Outfront if not in memoriam? Is there a decision maker I can speak with?” To that, Zack Danielson wrote: “We are happy to seek approval for your campaign with a message that is positive in nature. If you would like to send me the revised creative I would be happy to pass it along to our legal team.”

I answered: “Zack, Isn’t the message positive? We offer sanctuary to girls whose life is in dangerous. Saving a life. What could be more positive than that?” Danielson responded: “How about offering a positive message that speaks to that exactly, with a tagline that reads: We offer a sanctuary to young woman / girls who may feel that there life is in danger.” Note that in Danielson’s “positive” ad, all reference to the girls being in danger because they refused to wear hijab was removed.

This is in Texas, where Amina and Sarah Said were honor-murdered in cold blood by their father, according to police. But we can’t talk about it. Nothing remotely critical of Islam can be discussed.

Finally, I submitted an ad reading: “Are you forced to wear hijab? Is your family threatening you?” And underneath the photos: “These girls could have been saved.”

To that updated submission, Outdoor has not yet responded.

Our ad is a public service announcement, and public service ads offering help to women threatened by domestic violence run all the time. But when it comes to the cause of Islamic honor, suddenly we must be “positive” and show “respect.”

We’re not going to let these appeasers and useful idiots stop us.

Behind a fascist firewall, I cannot get to that page on Dr. Pipes’ excellent site. But I question your 600 million Hindus killed number. Do you know where that figure came from?

I have read in a serious history book of 80 million killed in the century or two after the death of the Pedophile “Prophet”, so the 600 million figure seems high. Those expressing support the counter-jihad narrative do no good to their purported cause by posting erroneous claims. I’ve even wondered if some of the “goon squad” here could be trolls attempting to make those skeptical of Islam appear to be a bunch of moronic yahoos.

This is how patriots fightback and win http://tinyurl.com/y8yzso88

But most conservatives prefer someone else fight their battle , while they prefer to be internet “warriers”. That is why the Left/Jihadis win.

They are united and will use all fair and foul means to destroy American law for their benefit/power grab

That was a great, hard-won victory. Unless more parents and other aware community members are willing to put that much effort into fighting back against the unconstitutional imposition of religious ideology in public schools, Islam will continue to expand its influence over their most vulnerable target: children. NO ONE should be forced to accept as valid any ideology, religious or otherwise, that violates their reason and understanding of reality.

Left/jihadis are motivated and well funded so they takeover with no opposition. Instead of funding crooked RNC fund people like Pamela Geller , other conservative websites that are exposing truth against all odds to uphold constitutional rights that “conservatives” take for granted .

Perhaps if that companies bottom line was affected and their public profile over this disgraceful PC stalling exposed to a wider audience, they might understand better WHICH country they operate in together with its values.

Once upon a time far away in another galaxy, there was someone who upset a great many decent people, so one day he turned up for work after a weekend and couldn’t get through his office doors, they were chained shut and some mischievous scamp had filled the lock with West System marine epoxy and a bung.

No damage was caused, no one was hurt but a cheek on the face of the boss might have coloured pink a little because protesters were there and the press too and they had a few suggestions what the boss could do.

I seem to remember the result was positive.

Our lesbian Supreme Court Justice, Elena Kagan, is a rabid Sharia Law supporter.
I kid you not. She spent the majority of her time holding symposiums looking for input on how to make our Constitution Sharia Law complaint. This was an Obama appointee and naturally the GOP didn’t object to her. It wasn’t hidden either. All you had to do was go on Harvard’s website and read about it. Obama did his best to stuff the pipeline and courts with American hating lefties that love Islam. The U.S. is in trouble………..

Shariah comes to the Supreme Court: Elena Kagan’s decisions
August 4, 2010
By Christine Brim

(The GOP easily confirmed her. BTW she is also a lesbian.)

The Senate should not confirm Elena Kagan, because her views render her the first Supreme Court Justice who actively favors the introduction of Shariah law into national Constitutions and legal systems. To excuse themselves for voting for her confirmation, Senators of both parties have told themselves this vote for Kagan’s confirmation will result in a harmless swap: the substitution of one liberal justice for another.

The reality is far more threatening and unprecedented in American history. A vote to confirm Elena Kagan’s nomination will bring a liberal, pro-Shariah justice to our highest Court. And if she is confirmed, her behavior as Obama’s Solicitor General indicates she will refuse to recuse herself on any Shariah-related decision but instead will lead the charge to legitimate Shariah law in America.

But Kagan has made repeated and very public decisions about a judicial system – Shariah – and Senators should be obligated to take into account those decisions when they vote for her. Her 2003-2009 career as Dean of Harvard Law School is a history of those decisions, and every one of them shows her “deep appreciation” of Shariah law.

Every vote for Kagan is a vote to bring a pro-Shariah view to the Supreme Court. Here are five reasons to vote against Kagan’s nomination:

1. PRO-SHARIAH MISSION:

With Kagan’s direction, Harvard’s Islamic Legal Studies Program developed a mission statement (here on 9/2008, also 6/2009) dedicated “to promote a deep appreciation of Islamic law as one of the world’s major legal systems.” That mission statement guided her actions and those whom she directed as Dean.

Under Kagan’s direction, her chief staff at the Islamic Legal Studies Program aggressively expanded non-critical studies of Shariah law – fulfilling her mission “to promote a deep appreciation of Islamic law.” In 2003, the year Kagan became Harvard Law School Dean, Islamic Legal Studies Program Founding Director Frank Vogel and Associate Director Peri Bearman founded the Massachusetts-based International Society for Islamic Legal Studies. In 2007, Bearman and Vogel founded the Islamic Law Section of the Association of American Law Schools (inaugural panel audio here).

2. PRO-SHARIAH MONEY.

When Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal offered $10 million to New York City’s Rudy Guiliani on October 11, 2001, Guiliani refused to accept it, because the prince insisted that U.S. policies in the middle east were responsible for the 9/11 terrorist attack. Guiliani stated flatly, “There is no moral equivalent for this act.” But – when Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal offered $20 million to the Islamic Legal Studies Program in December 2005 – Kagan accepted it; after all, the Saudi royal family had funded the program since its inception, to establish the moral and legal equivalency between Shariah law and U.S. Constitutional law. As Newt Gingrich has noted, Harvard Law School currently has three chairs endowed by Saudi Arabia, including one dedicated to the study of Islamic sharia law.

In 2001 Guiliani made a decision not to accept Talal’s blood money; In 2005, Kagan made a decision not just to accept it, but to implement Talal’s policies at Harvard.

And not just at Harvard. As reported earlier this year, “Kagan is the main reason why the Supreme Court ruled against the 9/11 families” in a suit filed by thousands of 9/11 family members that traced funding for the 19 hijackers to certain Saudi royals, along with banks, corporations and Islamic charities. Kagan, as Obama’s Solicitor General, said in her brief “that the princes are immune from petitioners’ claims” and that the families’ claims that the Saudis helped to finance the plots fell “outside the scope” of the legal parameters for suing foreign governments or leaders.

Let’s review Kagan’s decisions so far: she actively solicits Saudi financing to promote Shariah law in the U.S.; she actively protects Saudi financial backers for terrorism against the U.S., as being immune from claims by 9/11 families.

3. PROMOTING THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD AND SHARIAH CONSTITUTIONS.

In December, 2006, Kagan hired Noah Feldman, architect of Iraq’s Constitution requiring Shariah, as a star faculty member at Harvard Law School. On March 16, 2008, Feldman published his controversial article “Why Shariah” in the New York Times Magazine, which promoted “Islamists” – the Muslim Brotherhood – as a progressive democratic party, and promoted Shariah as a model not just for Muslim-majority countries but for all: “In fact, for most of its history, Islamic law offered the most liberal and humane legal principles available anywhere in the world…” The article was adapted from his book The Fall and Rise of the Islamic State, which was published in late March, 2008.

On September 16, 2008, Kagan whole-heartedly endorsed Feldman’s promotion of the Muslim Brotherhood and Shariah by honoring him with the endowed Bemis Chair in International Law. Feldman’s speech on receiving the award was revealing: he advocated for an international, “outward interpretation” of the Constitution that could “require the U.S. to confer rights on citizens of other nations,” and allow for an “experimental Constitution.”

As to the Muslim Brotherhood, the Islamist worldwide political organization that Feldman and Kagan support? Their motto is as revealing as Feldman’s speech:

“Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. Qur’an is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.”

Given that slogan, you could well ask if Feldman really meant the Muslim Brotherhood when he wrote about “Islamists” in the book Kagan so admired that she gave him an endowed chair. And he anticipated that question; in the second footnote in his book he states, “Throughout this book, when I refer to Islamists or Islamism, I have in mind mainstream Sunni Muslim activists loosely aligned with the ideology of the transnational Muslim Brotherhood (MB)…the Brotherhood broadly embraces electoral politics, but without eschewing the use of violence in some circumstances, notably against those whom it defines as invaders in Iraq and Palestine.”

I never figured I’d see the cowardly, craven submission to f’ing muslums in TX, but I guess after having a muslum collaborator like Perry as governor anything goes. Sad.

This is one company. Not the people of Texas. They need a nice suit like pam has done before in other places to get this in the news.

Often these billboards are located on public lands and I suggest contacting the State of Texas, AG Ken Paxton, and ask his office to intervene with CBS. If they are located on private lands then the landowners should be contacted and urged to allow this message to be presented.

Outfront as a New York company would challenge Texas, and force Texas to defend the case in New York to prevent Trump supporters from being on the jury pool. Outfront is a real estate investment trust. (CBS no longer has any stake in Outfront.) Their property, their rules. Don’t like it? Contact Lamar Advertising or Clear Channel Outdoor. (Typically, they will split a market 3 ways.)

God Bless you Pam and I assure that the majority of people in Texas agree with you. There has to be some way to get this in the muslim compliant media to shame these cowards. Evidently the death of young girls do not.

Why not a simple billboard with the quote the ICNA made about the Jews and Hitler and the source on one half …and a photo of their billboard on the other half with the words to the effect : “which one do they really mean”? scrolled on the bottom…

Use their words against them..That’s the way to do it.. You can’t just put your message up there. The way to fight back is to expose them..

Just saying…

Ya see dumb muslum monkey just because a woman doesn’t wear your black body bags that doesn’t imply promiscuity except in your koranderthal mind. But what about sexily dressed Indonesian ladyboys? What does their dress imply muslum chumpanzee?

Why the bestial cattle from countries where all live like brutes, come to the WESTERN CIVILIZED COUNTRIES and trying to turn them into the same garbage as the countries from which they came and trying to prove to everyone that to live like a pig in a garbage bag is good :))))

The righteous should not go to SwapPornBang clubs, I hope that you are reliably protected from western syphilization and you live in a righteous country – in Mali and Somalia, you have a bag from under the garbage in which you live and move along your beautiful Mali or Somalia and this the garbage bag protects you from western syphilization :)))

there are many poor countries … Somalia …Haiti …Angola ..Congo .. Papua Nugini …etc …

if they have a chance to migrate to more rich countries … why not ??

in fact …many developed countries need immigrants to solve labour shortages problem…

the question is: do immigrants must embrace all aspect of life of western syphilization ????

A righteous man should not live among western syphilization – a righteous man should live in a garbage bag in his righteous country. But if you want to live in a normal CIVILIZED WESTERN COUNTRY, then leave in their righteous Mali or Somalia your stinking bag of garbage on the righteous home and BECOME a MAN and STOP being a beast :)))) WESTERN goods AND WESTERN COUNTRIES had CREATED WHITE PEOPLE, which is BASED on the CHRISTIAN TRADITION AND the LAWS of ANCIENT GREECE AND ANCIENT ROME – if the cattle don’t like it, they can stay in their righteous pigs righteous countries :)))) Or to go to his brothers in Qatar, Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates – but that your co-religionists do not invite you very much-BECAUSE they KNOW YOU and their PRICE :)))) If you want to live in the 21st century, then correspond to the 21st century, not to your 7th century :))))))))))))) https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/13930/saudi-arabia-seventh-century

a righteous man is not righteous if he live just for himself …

righteous man should go beyond himself …to go outside ..to reach other people wherever they are to promote righteousness …

claiming western syphilization is based on christian tradition is contradictory and laughable … don’t you realize it ? ….hahahaha

General Manager Zack Danielson seems to be a pandering coward. Promoting and supporting the subjugation of women as second class people, reverting them to simple possessions like a stove or TV. This is disgusting. What is he afraid of, free speech? Is he afraid of offending Muslims because of their culture of reacting with violence?

There too many people who fear reprisals from Muslims if they speak out
about the atrocities by followers of Islam. The lovely Pamela Geller is
not one of them, so she is being censored for telling the truth.
