Democratic rebuke of Ilhan Omar won’t name her

House Democrats will vote on a resolution Wednesday condemning anti-Semitism, but the measure will not name Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., whose comments prompted the rare condemnation from her fellow lawmakers.
Story continues below advertisementThe four-page resolution is sponsored by Rep. Ted Deutch, D-Fla., and “rejects anti-Semitism as hateful expressions of intolerance that are contradictory to the values that define the people of the United States.”
The measure outlines the history of anti-Semitic attacks against Jews and addresses “the myth of dual loyalty, including allegations that Jews should be suspected of being disloyal neighbors or citizens.” Omar in a series of tweets raised the idea that Jewish members of Congress shouldn’t be loyal to Israel over America.

Watch Full Screen to Skip Ads“[A]ccusing Jews of dual loyalty because they support Israel, whether out of a religious connection, a commitment to Jewish self-determination after millennia of persecution, or an appreciation for shared values and interests, suggests that Jews cannot be patriotic Americans and trusted neighbors, when Jews have served our Nation since its founding, whether in public life or military service,” the resolution said in rebuttal.
Omar has come under intense criticism from Democratic lawmakers after a series of anti-Semitic comments and tweets, including one questioning U.S. “allegiance” to Israel.

This presents both a border security and humanitarian crisis at our southwest border, U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Kevin K. McAleenan said in a press conference on Tuesday afternoon.
United States Border Patrol Chief of Operations Brian Hastings told reporters that during February, Border Patrol agents apprehended more than 66,000 migrants who illegally crossed the border from Mexico between ports of entry. This is up from nearly 48,000 in January — a nearly 40 percent increase. When compared to the first five months of Fiscal Year 2018, this fiscal year has seen a 97 percent increase, he stated.

The term “bloody cowards” was used by Pam Geller to describe the Jewish house Democrats who, under the auspices of Speaker Pelosi, produced this toothless resolution.
Unfortunately, the time for such bromides is over, and the resolution is indeed seen as inadequate, if not ludicrous.
Meanwhile J street has rushed to the defense of the anti-Semites, admonishing that any effort to condemn them will play into the hands of the “Islamophobes.”
The left, as evidenced in the Democrat party and in organizations like J street, has not only split the Democrats, it has also fractured the American Jewish community.
It is now a community that can no longer muster a consensus to demand an end to Jew-hatred – even in the congress of the United States.

These are not children.. They are adults, who need to be held completely responsible for their words and actions.. These people suffer from arrested development..
Congress gave no such quarter to Rep. Steve King, as it should be.. At least he was treated like an adult..
