This is how the left’s media establishment works: the New Yorker published a hit piece accusing Fox of collusion with the Trump White House. Then the Democrat leadership uses that piece as a pretext to bar Fox from the Democrat primary debates, on the basis of the claim that Fox is not fair or balanced. Who are they trying to kid? The other networks are 24-hour non-stop anti-Trump hate propaganda, without the slightest attempt to be fair and balanced. Study after study has shown that the coverage of Trump is 90% negative or more. Now the Democrats are going to pretend that they’re objective news sources? The number of people that this pose will fool is dwindling.
“BREAKING: Democrats Refuse Primary Debates On Fox News. Trump Punches Back.,” by Ryan Saavedra, Daily Wire, March 6, 2019:
President Donald Trump responded to the Democratic Party’s decision to not allow Fox News to host the Democrats’ presidential primary debates on Wednesday, saying that if the Democrats do that then he will refuse to go on far-left networks during the general election debates.
DNC Chairman Tom Perez said in a statement on Wednesday that allegations of bias made in a New Yorker magazine article this week were the basis for the DNC’s decision to not allow Fox News to host a primary debate.
“I believe that a key pathway to victory is to continue to expand our electorate and reach all voters,” Perez said in a statement to The Washington Post. “That is why I have made it a priority to talk to a broad array of potential media partners, including Fox News.”
Trump responded late on Wednesday with a tweet indicating that if Democrats were going to play games with the coverage of the primary debates then he would not appear in general election debates on far-left networks, presumably CNN and MSNBC.
“Democrats just blocked @FoxNews from holding a debate,” Trump tweeted. “Good, then I think I’ll do the same thing with the Fake News Networks and the Radical Left Democrats in the General Election debates!”
In a statement provided to The Daily Wire, Senior Vice President & Managing Editor Bill Sammon wrote:
We hope the DNC will reconsider its decision to bar Chris Wallace, Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, all of whom embody the ultimate journalistic integrity and professionalism, from moderating a Democratic presidential debate. They’re the best debate team in the business and they offer candidates an important opportunity to make their case to the largest TV news audience in America, which includes many persuadable voters.
The Federalist‘s Mollie Hemingway highlighted “just a few off-the-top-of-the-head examples” of when the media and Democratic Party were caught colluding in recent years during elections on debate questions and issues:
- NBC sat on evidence exonerating Justice Brett Kavanaugh, discrediting Michael Avenatti and his clients’ accusations.
- CBS published false documents to smear President George W. Bush.
- CNN fed debate questions to Hillary Clinton before a primary debate.
- ABC helped Democrats launch their “war on women” campaign strategy in 2012.
- And CNN attacked Mitt Romney during a debate when he said true things about the Benghazi terror attack.
Fox News host Bret Baier — who is widely viewed as the top news anchor in the industry — responded to the DNC’s decision in a tweet, writing: “That’s really a shame. When it comes to fairness – our news product speaks for itself. We will continue to cover this 2020 race fairly & will continue to invite Democrats- Republicans & Independents on to talk about key issues & substance with our very large viewing audience.”…
