I became a classical/jazz fan as a child musician in the 50s, but R&R and ballads (as a teen) for dancing and romancing, but the public emotional restraint escaped through their music. I suggest for you consideration Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No. 2.

Thank you, Ms. Geller. I never really forget about Ms. Vaughan, but now I will pull out the collections that I have of her and do it again. She may have been the greatest. She was still alive and performing in 1987, when I discovered her by way of a CASSETTE(!) while on a cross-country road trip, from California to Key West, and back again, in a beat up VW camper that kept breaking down. I didn’t know how cool I was.
