New York Times Blames Jews for 9/11

62

The upshot of the antisemitism inherent in NY Times editorial bias is hateful, bigoted fake news disguised as ‘reportage’. Old tropes, new ink. Blaming the Jews for 9/11 is disgusting blood libel. Read the ‘martyrdom’ letters left by the Muslim terrorists, ““Remind your brothers that this act is for Almighty Allah”. They did in the cause of advancing Islam. But the venerable old gray lady never mentions any of that – and that too is in the cause of advancing Islam.

New York Times Claims Osama Bin Laden Motivated by ‘News Coverage of Displaced Palestinians’

By Ira Stoll, Algemeiner, February 18, 2019:

The New York Times is suddenly and retroactively blaming Israel for motivating the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, without much evidence to support the claim.

A recent Times news article about deadly attacks in Africa by affiliates of the terrorist group Al Qaeda blames them on President Trump’s decision to obey an American law that required him to move the American embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

The Times reports, “The attacks came fully seven months after President Trump moved the American Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, the disputed holy city, which Mr. Trump recognized as the country’s capital. Widely seen as inflaming tensions and as a demonstration of the administration’s favoritism toward Israel in its long conflict with the Palestinians, the move drew condemnation at the time from many corners, including Al Qaeda and other extremist militant organizations.”

The Times mentions that the Jerusalem embassy move “drew condemnation … from many corners” but fails to mention that it also drew praise from many corners, including from the elected government of Israel and many American Jews and Christian Zionists.

But that’s just a mild precursor compared to the Times September 11 revisionism, which comes in a paragraph of the article that immediately follows the description of Jerusalem. The Times reports, “The suffering of the Palestinians has long been an animating cause for Al Qaeda, a stand-in for the victimization of Muslims at the hands of Western powers. Biographies of Osama bin Laden say that as an adolescent, he cried watching news coverage of displaced Palestinians who had been forced off their land.”

These are new claims by the Times, which has previously had rejected them. For example, on September 23, 2001, a former Jerusalem bureau chief of the paper, Serge Schmemann, wrote, “the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on Sept. 11 were apparently not about Israel and the Palestinians, at least not directly. … There were no indications that the architects of the attack had American support for Israel as their primary motivation.”

On October 12, 2001, the Times published an op-ed by a former US diplomat, Dennis Ross, headlined, “Bin Laden’s Terrorism Isn’t About The Palestinians.” Ross wrote that any claim that the attack on America “was about the plight of the Palestinians” was as “absurd” as Saddam Hussein’s claim that he had invaded Kuwait in 1990 to help the Palestinians.

Not even the chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Yasser Arafat, bought this nonsense. The Times reported in 2002:

Yasir Arafat, the Palestinian leader, sought to distance himself unequivocally from Al Qaeda in an interview published today, warning Osama bin Laden to stop justifying attacks in the name of Palestinians.

“I’m telling him directly not to hide behind the Palestinian cause,” Mr. Arafat was quoted as saying in The Sunday Times of London, referring to recent statements by Al Qaeda leaders.

“Why is bin Laden talking about Palestine now?” Mr. Arafat said. “He never helped us. He was working in another, completely different area and against our interests.”

That 2002 Times report referred to “Al Qaeda, which has in the past mentioned the Palestinian issue only glancingly.”

For Israel and its friends, it’s a bit of a complicated issue. Associating Al Qaeda with the Palestinian cause could help discredit the Palestinians by associating them and their supporters with an evil terrorist group that is extremely unpopular with Americans across the political spectrum who vividly remember the 2001 attacks. However, the association could also feed the fantasy that if only the Israel-Palestinian issue could be somehow resolved, Al Qaeda and other similar anti-American and anti-Western terrorist groups would immediately surrender and cease their violent attacks.

Anyway, one wonders what “biographies” — not just one, but plural — of Osama Bin Laden the Times is talking about. And one wonders how believable are these improbable Times-cited reports of Bin Laden’s adolescent tears. One biography of Bin Laden is by Michael Scheuer, a former CIA official who has complained of a “fifth column of pro-Israel US citizens” who are “unquestionably enemies of America’s republican experiment.” That erodes his credibility. Another Bin Laden biography, by Jonathan Randal, reports that Bin Laden, “like so many other Saudis, had a long record of indifference about the Palestinian cause.”

Unless the Times itself has independent confirmation or reason to believe this tale about Bin Laden’s tears for the Palestinians, or is willing to fill Times readers in with more detail about the source, it is strange for the newspaper to shift its narrative so dramatically about the “animating cause” of the group behind the deadly attacks on America in 2001.

One hint of this story’s possible source does come in a previous Times article, from December 2017, which begins, “Osama bin Laden was just 14 when his mother noticed that he had stopped watching his favorite Westerns. She found him fixated instead on news reports about Palestinians, tears streaming down his face as he watched TV in their home in Saudi Arabia. ‘In his teenage years, he was the same nice kid,’ his mother related. ‘But he was more concerned, sad and frustrated by the situation in Palestine,’ she said, according to Lawrence Wright’s account of bin Laden’s trajectory and Al Qaeda’s rise in his book, ‘The Looming Tower.’”

Even that, though, is a truncated account; the full quote from the Wright book has Bin Laden’s mother claiming that her teenage son would “weep” about “the situation in Palestine in particular, and the Arab and Muslim world in general.” The Wright book passage mentions nothing at all about “displaced Palestinians who had been forced off their land.” The rest of the Wright book passage explains also that during the same period, Bin Laden became more religious, with some ascribing the change “to a charismatic Syrian gym teacher at the school who was a member of the Muslim Brothers.”

The Times could just as easily have blamed the gym teacher or the Muslim Brotherhood; instead, it blames the Jewish state of Israel.

What are arabs doing in Palestine? I thought Muslims condemned “colonizers”….they belong in saudi arabia where their ancestors originated

No problem with that!

Also no one seems to have a problem with China using predatory loans knowing the country can’t pay it back and colonizing the country. China is having a field day doing this right now! If Trump is not successful in dealing with China, China will replace US militarily and economically. China needs to learn to play fair and stop the growing trade imbalance.

At some point the odds are high that will happen with the shifting demographics.
We are letting in third world gimme people. Look at a worldwide IQ map. Compare that to a race break down at public high schools. “Education” won’t change the majority of them. It already shows “education” hasn’t made a difference. We lowered standards in public schools for K-12 to accommodate them, required group work and group think to hide non performers and added propaganda to convince them they are victims. You can even graduate from a pubic high school and not read, write or speak English even with government tutors. This is perfectly acceptable in California.

Trump truly has a tough WAR on his hands. This vote shocked me. The GOP is also trying to sabotage
a 2020 run. No decent Republican would want open borders and mass immigration. The Senate was supposed to be our firewall and look how they voted. I thought we had the support of at least 1/3 of the Senate – I was wrong. The GOP dominates the Senate.

Veto-Proof Majority in Congress Sends Spending Bill to Trump

The House passed the spending bill, 300-128, featuring strong Democrat support for the bill and mixed Republican support. The spending bill contains $1.3 billion in wall funding.
The Senate passed the spending bill earlier on Thursday, 83-16.

The NY times wants people to think that Israel is the reason for Al Quaeda.
To suggest otherwise would be blasphemy against the Sharia tyranny.
It’s a way to censor that the real reason for Al Quaeda is Muhammad’s unjust commands.
That’s like saying that Hitler was motivated by white supremacism when in fact he was motivated by Islam.

I grew up reading the NY Times vociferously. I was then a
resident of NYC, and traveling the subways taught me how to hold and fold the
paper while being simultaneously squashed like a sardine. I have totally
stopped reading that paper as I am convinced that what used to be a venerated
publication, now has become a journal that that has a policy of creating NEWS
based on opinion of its writers, not facts. To hear this type of hogwash
associated with this claimed newspaper is mind boggling. The real problem begins
when the Palestinians decided to totally reject the U.N. decision to provide a
land mass for the Jewish people who suffered the holocaust, a genocide that was
supported by the Arab societies that existed then. Though the Jewish refugees
and those already living there offered a peaceful solution to the Arabs who
were also living in the land mass involved, the Arab’s chose conflict, a
conflict that they lost. Therefore, when one properly remembers history, the
claim that the Jews were at fault for what befell those people who now call
themselves “Palestinians” is bogus. They made their own bed, so to speak. Those
Arabs who remained, today are citizens entitled to the same rights of equal
protection and due process as those citizens of the Jewish persuasion. Ben
Laden was a lunatic, and his mind was poisoned by his mistaken beliefs, if any
of that nonsense is true. His Arab descent simply does not justify his heinous
conduct, and he should be compared to people like Stalin and Hitler, not some
pious and reverent leader. He was scum. To even attempt to blames the Jews for
any of his heinous conduct is clearly the product of a sick mind. The only
thing that makes the NY Times useful is as kindling.

Cute, and thank you for knowing the then habits of the residents of NYC. I was once a liberal thinker, as that is what I was taught by my wonderful parents who were first generation Americans. I am now an educated American, and I have concluded that the democratic agenda is totally off base and is tantamount to noxious fallacy, and is promoting bias, racism and prejudice, which they wrongfully blame on Trump, and as a result I admit to being much more towards the MAGA thinking out there. I am truly disappointed in what I see is happening to this country, especially since those who follow the Islamic belief system have risen to political power. It is sad!

I just had to jump in and give you a hard time. I am glad you took it in the right spirit.
I used to commute up from Princeton Junction prior to it being renovated. I remember when they were renovating it, we had to walk over boards all over the place and dreaded it when it rained or snowed. Parking was a mess. Today, it’s very different. I am glad I am out of there. Now it’s time to escape NJ!

It truly is sad how we are throwing away our country. I hope violence is not necessary. Just try to educate people.

BDS is failing and the Democrats in Congress are embarrassing themselves so the campaign against Israel has to shift?

All these years we’ve been hearing the objection was to US military bases in Muslim countries. Bin Laden was offended by US troops in Saudi Arabia, in particular. “Poll: Muslims reject US military bases — 2009”: “Strong majorities of people in predominantly Muslim countries reject terrorism but support key goals of al-Qaeda, notably expelling United States military forces from the Islamic world, according to a major new study of public opinion in seven nations and the Palestinian territories released here Wednesday.
Nearly 90 percent of Egyptian respondents, 65 percent of Indonesians, 62 percent of Pakistanis, and 72 percent of Moroccans said they agreed with al-Qaeda’s goal of “push(ing) the US to remove its bases and its military forces from all Islamic countries,” according to a detailed survey carried out late last summer by the University of Maryland’s Program on International Policy Attitudes (PIPA).” https://electronicintifada.net/content/poll-muslims-reject-us-military-bases/8100

I’d think that if Palestinians were Osama’s main motivation then Al Qaeda would have attacked some Israeli target.

We are slipping. NYC is a cesspool – literally.

The mayor, De Blazio is a flat out communist with Islamic sympathies has proclaimed,
defecating and urinating in public is a “human right.” It contaminates the environment, spreads diseases as well as allowing indecent behavior. Many Democrat controlled cities allow this in the open. San Francisco is so bad a large national health organization refused to have their yearly conference there. Between open defication, needles, drug addicts and filth, they deemed it an unsafe environment. BTW it’s not typically done in a alley…. it’s in the open. It allows the third world invading our country to feel more at home.

‘Urination, defecation, and masturbation’ outside NYC college (done in an alley)
By Kevin Fasick and Beckie Strum July 30, 2015

The glass facade of Cooper Union’s $111 million academic building offers a remarkable view —
of a back alley packed with vagrants.

“I have seen drug deals, public urination, defecation, masturbation in broad daylight in the Taras Shevchenko alley,” a Cooper Union faculty member told The Post.

“It’s a place where many homeless congregate to sleep — right in front of a church and between a high school and a college,” the faculty member added.

The homeless have to be somewhere, either in shelters, in the subways or on the streets. DeBlasio is more for putting them into fancier places, wanting to build a shelter around 5th Av. and 57th St., Central Park South, while it seems Bloomberg kept them hidden in less obtrusive places.

Dan-

I consider this a textbook case of Pamela cherry picking from a balanced article to unfairly cast people- in this case, the NYT- in an unfavorable light. Here is an excerpt from the article:

Major terrorist activities by Qaeda branches in sub-Saharan Africa in recent years
seem motivated by other causes, security analysts said. They were intended to expand into new territory, lash out at Western military action or remind the world of Al Qaeda’s relevance as global powers focused on its headline-grabbing rival, the Islamic State.

The reporters were attempting to make the case that a Al-Qaeda was trying a new tack in its war against the infidel world. Hey, Jew hatred and an obsession with Israel does have a certain resonance in much of the Moslem world.- hardly surprising that Al-Qaeda would use this tactic.

Oh, here we go again for the gwaddamn “misplaced Palestinians”. It was NEVER their country. It was promised to the Hebrew people – the Ten Tribes.

Their Koran does not even mention their beloved Jerusalem, meanwhile it’s mentioned in the Bible somewhere around 600-700 times.

When it was no-man’s land for thousands of years they never claimed it as theirs because of divine intervention. Yahuah would NEVER permit it.

Of course, that is a tall order. Few of the reading public know that on the day Michael Jackson died, Farrah Fawcett Majors did also. Look it up.

Also, on the eve of our invading Iraq, the vast majority was more interested in the Kobe Bryant sex scandal.
