After the Six-Day War, there was one mosque on the Temple Mount. Now there are five. Israeli authorities are crazy if they go along with this. What the “Palestinians” are trying to do is expand the fiction of a continuous Muslim Arab presence in Jerusalem, and efface any and all traces of the actual Jewish presence there since time immemorial. Just as Islamic theology claims Abraham and Moses and other Jewish figures as Muslims, so Muslims appropriate and claim for themselves the holy sites of the people whom they have conquered. Jerusalem and the Temple Mount are the most notorious instance of this, but by no means the only one.

Tensions continued to bubble Monday on the Temple Mount after the “Gate of Mercy” structure near the Al-Aqsa mosque was certified as another mosque, with silent agreement from Israel, despite official denials issued by Israeli authorities.
Story continues below advertisementGovernment officials said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued an order to remove equipment from the site and disallow prayer there.
The structure was recently fitted with rugs and other furnishings along with renovations. Eran Tzidkiyahu of the Forum for Regional Thinking visited the site on Monday and assessed that it would soon be used as a permanent prayer area for Muslims.
Meanwhile, the Islamic authority that oversees Muslim holy sites in Jerusalem, known as the Waqf, announced it has already appointed an imam for the “Gate of Mercy” structure and that its status would be identical to other sites of worship on the Temple Mount.
Israeli police on Sunday arrested the head of Waqf authority, Sheikh Abdelazeem Salhab, and other Waqf leaders, following violent protests last week on the Temple Mount. Salhab, who was released shortly after his arrest and barred from the area for one week, was appointed by neighboring Jordan.
From One Mosque to FiveIf Israel does not act to reverse the trend, the number of mosques at the Temple Mount compound will stand at five.
Some 52 years ago, immediately following the Six-Day War, there was only one mosque, Al-Aqsa mosque. Over time, the Dome of the Rock was also certified as a mosque and mostly serves Muslim women on Fridays. In the 1990s, two other mosques were certified, but underground: the “Gate of Mercy” area, which some Muslims in recent days have hailed as the “fifth mosque,” was shut down by Israel in 2005 after a Hamas-linked group carried out activities there.
The new Waqf leadership, comprising officials from Fatah, the Palestinian Authority, Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, breached the site around two weeks ago, and last Friday thousands of worshippers prayed there. Waqf leaders arrested by Israel, as stated, were released a short while later on shaky legal grounds, as the aforementioned Hamas-affiliated group that had operated there, and which served as the pretext for shutting the site down, no longer exists, and doubts emerged over the legality of the most recent closure order.
‘Strong Resistance’It should be noted that before 2005, although the compound was controlled by the Muslims it didn’t function as a mosque and people normally didn’t use it for worship.
Senior Arab-Israeli figures, among them the head of the High Follow-Up Committee for Arab citizens of Israel, former Knesset member Mohammad Barakeh, together with representatives of the Balad and Ra’am parties, visited the structure on Monday and met with Waqf leaders.
“It is the right of every Muslim to prayer at Al-Aqsa mosque. The actions of the Israeli government to Judaize Jerusalem and erode the status quo at Al-Aqsa will be met with strong resistance,” they threatened….

NO! The Dome of the Rock should be torn down and the gold plating returned to Jordan. Coopting needs to come to an end and honesty needs to be restored. Islam has no place in descent society and any muslin who doesn’t believe in war jihad isn’t a true muslin. The facts are clear.

It’s the “meditation” room. When they built the building they realized there wasn’t a “prayer room” so this was created to accommodate that. The stone was chosen as being “neutral” . If you ask me, I think it appeals more to Muslims.

Great commentary! I am very impressed. Your logic and
references to history are right on. The only convincing available is to the
effect that these believers simply cannot engage in normal, respectful and
reverent relationships with those of us who are non-believers or believe in
other faiths. My sincere hope is that Israel has come to recognize and accept these
so-called “facts of life” as it involves Islam, and that they will soon openly
acknowledge that these believers cannot assimilate into any society that has as
its functional government the separation of state from church. I have been
urging Israel, while they still can, to offer the Arabs Islamic believers
stipends to leave Israel, Judea and Samaria, securing its borders with Syria,
Lebanon and Jordan, before the Arabs follow thru with their attack by Hamas, Hezbollah,
assisted by Iran. Unless the Israeli’s fend for themselves, no one out there,
except for the U.S., will root for them to prevail.

You are never tolerant of Jews and Christians, and have a critical spirit. That spirit comes from satan who always finds fault, and says, “Aha, aha! Look at those empty buildings which were once filled!”
But you Muslims have had a history of violence. You claim to be a peaceful “religion”, but your symbol of peace is the sword, and only the sword! You say, “Convert or die.”
We do not force anyone to convert. As a Christian, I simply spread the Good News. But no one can come to Yeshua unless he/she is drawn by the Spirit of our G-d. If you refuse, I don’t play your Allah nor physically do you harm. Our G-d, Ha Shem, is the Judge, and you will someday have to answer to Him.

It does not mean I don’t love the way Yeshua loves you, because you, whether muslim or non-muslim, are lost, and if you were to die now, you will not meet your 72 virgins. Being a person of the Book, my Bible tells me that Yeshua came into the world to save sinners, and to give you a life full of joy and peace right now, so that you will have a little heaven to go to heaven in. Once Yeshua touches your life, you will have no more desire for islam. But if you reject Yeshua, you will die eternally lost, and you will remember the warning I gave you.

Maybe nominal Christians, but not genuine Christians. Anyone can profess to be a Christian, but most of them are as phony as a three-dollar bill. Reading the Bible and attending church regularly does not make you a Christian anymore than residing in a garage long enough will change you into an automobile.
In order to be a Christian, you must be born again. You must let Jesus into your life and let Him transform you. You cannot do it by trying to be good enough, or “turning a new leaf”. Because, Jesus already took your sins and my sins by making atonement on the cross, and rising from the dead. Only those who have been saved and washed by the blood of Jesus will enter heaven. But, being good enough will not save you.
Jesus taught that one must enter through the narrow gate and walk the narrow path, and very few find it. Most will enter through the wide gate, and walk the wide path, which leads to spiritual death and destruction. It doesn’t matter whether you live a “universal religion” or “tribal religion”; they can lead to destruction.
But true Christianity is not a religion; it is a relationship — with the Son of G-d.
