Downtown on an open thread

11

You have to love the joy in it all. The zeitgeist was so different — happy, hopeful, loving life, even when “life is making you lonely.” Then the left took over the culture and killed all that.

It’s where I am headed. Downtown, baby. C ya there:)

Story continues below advertisement

When you’re alone and life is making you lonely
You can always go – downtown.
When you’ve got worries all the noise and the hurry
Seems to help
I know – downtown.
Just listen to the music of the traffic in the city
Linger on the sidewalk where the neon signs are pretty
How can you lose?
The lights are much brighter there
you can forget all your troubles
Forget all your cares
so go – downtown
Things ‘ll be great when you’re – downtown
No finer place for sure – downtown
Everything’s waiting for you – downtown.
Don’t hang around and let your problems surround you
There are movies shows – downtown.
Maybe you know some little places to go to where they never close-
downtown.
Just listen to the rhythm of a gentle bossa nova
You’ll be dancing with ’em too before the night is over happy again.
The lights are much brighter there
you can forget all your troubles, forget all your cares
So Go, Downtown where all the lights are bright
Downtown – waiting for you tonight
Downtown – you’re gonna be all right now
Downtown…
Downtown…
Downtown…
And you may find somebody kind to help and understand you
Someone who is just like you
and needs a gentle hand to guide them along.
So maybe I’ll see you there
we can forget all our troubles
Forget all our cares
so go – downtown
Things ‘ll be great when you’re – downtown
don’t wait a minute more – downtown
Everything is waiting for you –
downtown
downtown
downtown
downtown

The Truth Must be Told

Your contribution supports independent journalism

Please take a moment to consider this. Now, more than ever, people are reading Geller Report for news they won't get anywhere else. But advertising revenues have all but disappeared. I remember hearing that as a kid. A cheerful upbeat song. That goes back to 1964.
You wouldn’t do that today! Major cities are not safe.
Today female vocals pretty much all sound the same and use the same chords.

Downtown Los Angeles is nothing like this paean. It’s overrun by homeless. The only memory I have about downtown L.A. is driving my friend to the bus station late at night and seeing a man urinating in the street while drinking a beer and being offered crack cocaine in the bus terminal.

The question is whether this “German government” is indeed a freely
elected representative of the people or a gang of corrupt puppets?

It’s musical chairs. Voters don’t matter to the global elite.
We have the same thing going on over here only Trump is bucking them.
Only a handful in the D.C. swamp don’t want the globalist agenda.

So right, Pamela. I remember hearing that song as a child, not long after it came out. Loved it then, love it now.

Here again it is argued that the Jews are devilish seducers,
and all the Goys are just stupid sheeps running after them.

I don’t usually like musicals, but Finian’s Rainbow, where Petula Clark also starred with Fred Astaire was a great one!
