Less than two months after he was given prominent op-ed space in the Washington Post, a video has surfaced of Houthi rebel leader Mohammad Ali al-Houthi launching a shoulder-fired missile and then reciting the Houthi slogan, which calls for “Death to America.”

The Washington Post contributor chants, “Allah is the greatest. Death to America. Death to Israel. Curse the Jews. Victory to Islam.” He has also taken to his unverified but media– and think tank-cited Twitter account to repeat the infamous Houthi slogan.

Ali Shihabi, the founder of the Arabia Foundation, a Washington D.C.-based Middle East think tank, confirmed to Conservative Review that it is indeed al-Houthi in the video. Shihabi tells CR that it is “documentary evidence of the type of leader” that the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen is up against, whom “many critics have ignored.”
Other videos have surfaced showing Mr. al-Houthi traveling in a vehicle with very young male soldiers (the Houthi rebels draft child soldiers) while stationed at a mounted machine gun.

al-Houthi is the head of the Houthis’ Supreme Revolutionary Committee. He is described as “one of the most powerful men” in the Iran-backed rebel group.
On November 9, the radical extremist leader was given valuable space in the Washington Post’s Global Opinions section, edited by Karen Attiah, a passionate advocate for the controversial slain Saudi activist Jamal Khashoggi, who in his last days worked as a de facto asset to the Qatari and Turkish regimes.

After Jamal Khashoggi’s death, Attiah worked to turn the Global Opinions section into a space to pursue his pro-Islamist, anti-Saudi monarchy agenda.

In his Washington Post column, the Houthi radical claimed to want “peace for Yemen.”
“We love peace — the kind of honorable peace defended by our revolution’s leader, Abdulmalik al-Houthi. We are ready for peace, the peace of the brave. God willing, Yemenis will remain the callers of peace and lovers of peace,” al-Houthi wrote.
Of course, to al-Houthi, the road map to peace begins and ends with placing blame on all of the issues in Yemen squarely with the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. Nowhere in the piece did the Washington Post add a disclaimer or note the fact that the Houthis routinely commit war crimes.
The facts tell a story far removed from al-Houthi’s unchecked propaganda. The Houthis have become notorious for their ruthless behavior, which includes the systematic detention and torture of journalists and the forced recruitment of child soldiers. The UN’s World Food Program has recently alleged that the Houthis are to blame for stealing desperately needed aid meant for the people of Yemen, letting commanders like al-Houthi eat well while the group contributes to the ongoing famine and mass starvation inside the country.

They have another recently added feature that I think is irritating and distracting. A video starts playing whe you click on the story and you can pause or close it. Then it pops up on the lower right hand corner where you can pause it. If you like videos that autostart, I guess.. no big deal. That’s why I don’t visit Fox. It spoils the reading of the story. You are not the only one who’s complained about this on BB on other sites. I used to have BB as my 1st “go to” website. I rarely go there now. If you want your readers to watch a story related video..give it a play button and let them decide.

Government hands out plums to its law-breaking cronies – and you defend it. Government interferes with law-abiding citizens – and you defend it. Criminals get plums from government – you’re for it. Criminals are not investigated and brought to book by government – and you’re cool with it.

That’s so well established – I don’t need to bother pointing out that I have seen courts make politically partisan decisions dozens of times with my own eyeballs in court. *wink*
Really – you’re only argument in this case is that Amazon should receive the same opportunity to seek government contracts as other businesses … and the response is that a business engaged in discrimination should be treated the same way the KKK would be treated – because Amazon is not above the law.
If you used my argument – it would be a good one – until someone who is not a Crony Corp sues the government for the right to bid on the same contracts awarded to Amazon.
But … we would not be having this discussion if the DNs followed the law.
Amazon violates the law against unlawful discrimination is its terms of service … and sooner or later Amazon will lose a massive lawsuit and suffer a brutal, intrusive injunction against its censorship.
And if they do not – they will lose their faux-utility status – and they will lose their government contracts. As they should.

The problem this country has in terms of political discord has a cause and effect relationship due to the irresponsible rhetoric. One side says something incendiary and the opposing side attempts to “up the ante” by saying something of greater magnitude, such as that cited. This manifests itself everywhere, whether it be in the media, in the halls of Congress, on the campaign trail, you name it.

The U.S. has vowed to ante up $4.8 billion for aid programs in Mexico and $5.8 billion for programs benefiting the Northern Triangle of Central America, consisting of Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala.
(That should have been WALL MONEY!)They don’t want to work or live in Mexico.

So far Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is siding with obstructionist Democrats and RINOs in the Senate by refusing to overhaul the Senate’s antiquated filibuster rule. Currently, 60 votes are needed in the Senate to pass the House-approved bill but senators have the power to reduce the threshold to a simple majority of the 100 members of the Senate. Instead of empowering Republicans to pass the bill, McConnell has opted to let minority Democrats continue to wield a veto over the bill and hold the wall project hostage to placate that party’s radical left-wing base.
Although Republicans will cede control of the House to Democrats on Jan. 3, the GOP’s strength will only grow in the Senate on that same date. Presently there are 51 Republicans and 49 Democrats in the Senate. As of Jan. 3, there will be 53 Republicans and 47 Democrats.

As to TV – I stopped watching in 1979. I don’t remember the date – but my stepmother was watching All in the Family. I went by to sneak a snack – and overheard a ‘joke’ – and though I still thought of myself as an “atheist liberal” – I immediately understood that they were attacking decent, honest working Americans with a disgusting load of horse manure – and I vowed never to watch TV again. … Albeit there have been exceptions … I have not seen more than a gif or a clip of any popular TV show since ’79 unless it was purchased on a videotape or DVD.
So. No – I have not seen any South Park.

I read this article because the misleading and breathless headline made it sound like a regular Washington Post STAFFER, or at least a free-lance Middle Eastern stringer on regular retainer for the paper, wrote such hateful claptrap. Then I find out it is referring to Mohammed al-Houthi, leader of the Houthi rebels in Yemen.
OF COURSE Houthi says such things! It is the basis of his Houthi “philosophy!” And the Post gave him a forum NOT because they believe in what he is saying or doing, but because he is a MAJOR PLAYER in an international conflict that involves US interests. Period.
That’s what responsible, professional journalists DO. They present both sides of a legitimate argument, without inserting their own bias, to let the readers decide what to think.
The Post has also given GUEST editorial opinion space to a wide range of world figures that some may consider despicable, on both left and right, not because the Post agrees with them, but because the Post felt that its readers deserved to hear from the horse’s mouth, so to speak, what those historical personages’ views were all about. And I’m glad they continue to do that.
