NY Times Columnist Cheers for Boycott of Israeli Banks

27

The cancer is spreading — a cancer of the soul, a cancer of the mind. This is typical of the enemedia: relentless anti-Israel propaganda, no matter how fact-free. No one should read the New York Times expecting to find actual news, and the only people who still do are leftist lemmings. And in this, the Times is calling for direct imitation of the Nazis, who began their actions against the Jews with boycotts.

“New York Times Columnist Cheers for Boycott of Israeli Banks,” by Ira Stoll, The Algemeiner, January 20, 2019:

It’s a sad day when a New York Times op-ed columnist — not a guest contributor, but a regular columnist — can mark Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a piece applauding a boycott of Jewish banks.

Story continues below advertisement

“Time to break the silence on Palestine,” is the headline over New York Times opinion columnist Michelle Alexander’s article, and a pretty good indication of where it’s going, because there’s no “silence” to break on the issue, and because “Palestine” isn’t a country and never has been.

Alexander uses the approaching Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday to accuse Israel of having “adopted some practices reminiscent of apartheid in South Africa and Jim Crow segregation in the United States.”

Alexander’s analysis is so far off the deep end that it almost doesn’t merit a response.

She refers to “our elected representatives, who operate in a political environment where Israel’s political lobby holds well-documented power,” hyperlinking to the Washington Post home page rather than to any actual documentation of such power. Is her innuendo that Israel controls the Washington Post? Never mind that the lobby isn’t “Israel’s” but America’s, consisting of American Jews and Christians who support Israel for many excellent reasons.

Classically Anti-Semitic Trope

Alexander trades in double negatives: “This is not to say that anti-Semitism is not real.” She can’t quite bring herself to say that anti-Semitism is real. Anyone wondering about that, however, might examine Alexander’s own column, which obsesses, using a classically anti-Semitism trope, about Jewish financial power.

“Many civil rights activists and organizations have remained silent as well, not because they lack concern or sympathy for the Palestinian people, but because they fear loss of funding from foundations,” she writes. As if pro-Israel Jews control the big foundations? Alexander also cheers, for Times readers, as an example of “moral clarity,” the United Methodist Church pension fund’s boycott of the five largest Israeli banks.

Alexander concedes that “while criticism of Israel is not inherently anti-Semitic, it can slide there.” She seems not even the slightest bit aware that her own column is a demonstration of precisely that phenomenon.

Alexander seems totally unfamiliar with the reality of Israel. She writes of King, “Like many black leaders of the time, he recognized European Jewry as a persecuted, oppressed and homeless people striving to build a nation of their own.” Yet Israel is a home not only for “European Jewry,” but for Jews from Yemen, Morocco, Iraq, Ethiopia, Egypt, Syria, and many other Middle Eastern and African countries where they were brutally persecuted, expelled and oppressed until they found refuge in Israel. It is also home to a population of Jews who have dwelled there for many centuries.

Alexander writes that King “said on national television that it would be necessary for Israel to return parts of its conquered territory to achieve true peace and security and to avoid exacerbating the conflict.” But Alexander makes no mention of the reality that Israel did indeed return the Sinai Peninsula to Egypt as part of a peace agreement, or that Israel has withdrawn from Gaza and Arab population centers in the West Bank.

‘Horrific Human Rights Abuses’

Alexander mentions a Reconstructionist rabbi. “During more than 20 visits to the West Bank and Gaza, he saw horrific human rights abuses, including Palestinian homes being bulldozed while people cried — children’s toys strewn over one demolished site — and saw Palestinian lands being confiscated to make way for new illegal settlements subsidized by the Israeli government,” she writes. She doesn’t mention or even acknowledge the tears or strewn toys of Israeli Jewish children caused by Arab suicide bombings and rocket attacks on Israeli civilian targets.

It’s a sad day when a New York Times op-ed columnist — not a guest contributor, but a regular columnist — can mark Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a piece applauding a boycott of Jewish banks. King is an American hero because he fought against bigotry. It’s perverse….

Let’s be honest; no one is surprised by this NYT columnist’s giddiness over the boycotting of Israeli banks. It typifies the deep-seated antisemitism within the enemedia Progressivism, the Democrats and every lowlife wannabe Bolshevik undeservedly sucking air. Antisemitism, intolerance for those diverse of their godless, totalitarian endeavors betrays the vainglorious predilection for hatred within the self-anointed leftist scourge.

Ziggy, I just don’t understand….NYT has predominantly been run by Jews since it’s beginning…..mostly Jewish writers and reporters…
It sounds Orwellian that Jews at the NYT are participating in anti-Semitism….literally eating their own!
The only thing I can say is, they are apparently Communists, Marxist, Globalist first….and Jewish when it serves their purpose. Absolutely sickening.

I don’t grasp it either, ladywarrior. Mind you there is much I cannot or perhaps dare not grasp these days. I don’t mean by denial but to save what sanity I still possess, if any.

Amen to that. Everytime I accidentally hear them talking about the abortion in NY…right up to the birth of the child….I almost throw up….it’s like I’m living in a horror movie….

God, that is utterly repellent, heinous; beyond a horror movie. This is why, there are days I want to bury my head in the sand but realize that is the Liberal solution to all that ails this nation and others. We are fortunate to have alternative news sources. Folks sucked into the vacuity, devoid, godless and treasonous MSM are imbecilic.

I wonder what Trump who if I’m right called the New York Times a jewel is reading. Probably just Twitter which is censored by Muhammadists & of which Saudi Arabia owns the biggest share.
Trump also said of news pioneer Pamela Geller “Why is she insulting everybody”?.
In other words Trump is advertising the New York Times & Twitter while not recommending the Geller Report.

There is indeed a silence to break on Fatah & it is the silence on the innocent imprisoned torture-victims, the victims of clitodirectomy, rape & forced theism, the victims of the unjust Muhammad-law, war & tyranny in Fatah’s/ Hamas’ jurisdiction.

The Jim Crow law seems to was the Muhammad-law cloaked in deceptive appearance.
Today Africans are enslaved, castrated, divorced, beaten & killed in Saudi Arabia & enslaved in the UAE, Oman, Yemen, Kuwait, Lebanon, Bahrain, Iraq, North-Sudan, Libya (surge), Algeria (surge), Mauritania (20 percent), Niger, Mali, Somalia, Nigeria in emulation of unjust Muhammad who started the global African slave-trade by saying his unproven deity had turned Africans black so Africans’ descendants would be slaves to Arabs & Turks (see Wikiislam). That’s Jim Crow-law.

Stricken with Pneumonia, Ruth Bader Ginsburg Cancels Event Set for January 29, 2019

The 85 year old cancer survivor fights for her life after contracting Pneumonia

January 15, 2019
US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Develops Pneumonia, which is generally a death sentence post surgery

Update, 1/16/19: Justice Ginsburg today cancelled a public appearance set for January 29, 2019, as she remains in a hospital fighting Pneumonia. The elderly judge appears to be nearing the end of her life, as the Trump administration asks allies for suggestions to replace her. Jan 29 in LA – Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Cancels Public Appearance in Los Angeles Set for January 29 https://t.co/ilYdXI05NH via @gatewaypundit

As any reader of the Santa Monica Observer knew last September, Ruth Bader Ginsburg has developed lung cancer. The 85 year old Supreme Court Justice had surgery as quietly as possible on December 22, 2018.

Following surgery, she has developed complications including pneumonia. Pneumonia often afflicts elderly post surgery patients in the US, since antibiotics have resulted in Multi Resistant Strains of the lung infection.

The left and the main stream media have tried to put on a brave face as Ginsburg missed three straight days of argument this week, interviewing cancer doctors to say that she would recover. They claimed that she was working in her hospital room, knowing that it was untrue.

No one in the media or in the Democratic party want to face the awful truth that President Donald Trump is about to replace one of the Court’s most liberal justices.

The left has bravely tried to put on a brave face as Ginsburg missed three straight days of argument this week, interviewing cancer doctors to say that she would recover. That is hardly a certainty at this point.

When we broke the news in September, which we obtained from a confidential source in Justice Ginsburg’s inner circle, the left went on attack. Our original story: https://www.smobserved.com/story/2019/01/07/politics/justice-ruth-bader-ginsburg-will-retire-from-the-us-supreme-court-in-january-2019/3658.html

Snopes.com labelled our prediction that Ginsburg would undergo cancer surgery then retire, #FakeNews. Sadly it wasn’t. https://www.smobserved.com/story/2019/01/07/news/snopescom-labels-story-that-supreme-court-justice-ginsburg-has-cancer-as-fake-news/3766.html

Political stakes are very high when a US Supreme Court member retires or resigns. A new 50 year old Justice could be on the bench for 40 years, and there are only 9 justices.

In the wake of the bruising Brett Kavanaugh confirmation battle, Democrats have proposed altering the number of Justices on the US high court to 18, and also to limit them to one 18 year terms. The number of Supreme Court justices is not set forth in the US Constitution. Another proposal would have Supreme Court justices rotate in from the Circuit Courts of Appeal.

Top comment for the NYT article (from a ‘Jew’?):

“I am Jewish. And I found this article beautifully written and
horrifyingly correct. I appreciate the delicate line that must be
carefully toed in order to write any persuasive criticisms of Israel.
Especially in these scary days of rising populism, even the hint of
anti-semitism triggers a visceral response in many of us. But for years
now, I have been ashamed of Israel’s policies and cruel actions to our
sisters and brothers in Palestine. I hope that thoughtful efforts like
this will open the door for a louder voice from American Jews calling
for a change in Israel’s policies, and eventually a different Israel: a
place where Jews and all others —including Palestinians— are treated
with equal dignity and respect.”
To be honest, if it is representative of liberal Jewish sentiment then Israel does not need external enemies as they have the following traitors: Sanders, S0r0s and many other useful idiots.
Why no boycott of Saudi Arabian banks, (the country responsible for 911)?

Here is the problem: they’ve become Hellenized.

They believe that all problems can be talked through; but when one side says “We want you dead and your nation destroyed!” just what is there to talk through? But to the Hellenized Jews, this is just talk and posturing. They’ve so lost their survival instincts they can’t grasp someone might be serious.

A pool of anti-Semitism can be found in that wonderful group in our government, the black caucus, now supported in full by the outspoken Jew haters elected to congress. I find it interesting, though not unexpected, that Schumer, Feinstain, Schiff, Engel, Nadler, Cohen, etc., have not spoken out against the Muslim “Ladies” now in congress busily spewing their Jew hatred. Instead, the “Leadership” appoints them to important committees. This tells me that Nancy Lugosi and the rest of the democ-rt scum tacitly approve of anti-Semites and of course, their companion “Anti,” Anti-American.
