Judge Gives NO PRISON TIME to Man Who Shouted About Killing Jews While BRUTALLY BEATING Elderly Jewish Man

81

Imagine, if you will, if the man was shouting about killing Muslims while attacking an elderly Muslim. Daily attacks on Jews have skyrocketed, but get scant to no coverage. Manufactured “islamophobia” tales get national coverage — welcome to sharia.

This week we were force-fed the following garbage:

A man walked into a Jewish nursing home in the Bronx where he attacked and robbed an elderly man on his birthday. According to the NYPD, hate crimes against Jewish people in New York are up nearly 29 percent in 2017. That means that hate crimes against Jewish people now comprise 29 percent of all hate crimes in the city.elderly-man-abused-300x169

Story continues below advertisement

On December 2, Alen Califano apparently told the security guard at the door of The New Jewish Home University Avenue Assisted Living that he needed to use the restroom. After being allowed into the building by the security guard, he began going room to room.

After going through several rooms, he finally arrived at the room of the 84-year-old victim, who was not named in the news. Califano began attacking the elderly man. The police report states that he threw a cardboard tube and fire extinguisher at the man while demanding money and hurling anti-Semitic slurs at him. The perpetrator even went so far as to weaponize the elderly man’s walker and “hit him in the mouth, over the face,” according to another resident at the assisted living facility.

Judge Gives No Prison Time to Man Who Shouted About Killing Jews While Attacking Elderly Jewish Man

A New York judge concludes drug and alcohol problems are the real culprit in the case of a man ‘repeatedly bashing an 84-year-old man on the head with a fire extinguisher while shouting, “I’m going to kill you, you mother f—ng Jew!”’

By Armin Rosen, The Tablet,

Here’s yet another incident involving violence against Jews on U.S. soil that seems to have been waged with the least ambiguous of motivations. In December of 2017, Alen Califano allegedly entered a Jewish nursing home in the Bronx and proceeded to “terroriz[e] residents,” punctuating his ramage by “repeatedly bashing an 84-year-old man on the head with a fire extinguisher while shouting, ‘I’m going to kill you, you mother f—ng Jew!,’” according to the New York Post. You’d think Califano had gone out of his way to make the reasoning for his alleged attack as clear as possible, but you are not Judge Nicholas Iocavetta. Per the Post, “Iacovetta said he wants Califano, who has alcohol and substance abuse problems, to go to an inpatient rehabilitation facility instead of serving jail time. “Mr. Califano meets the diagnostic criteria … and treatment is appropriate,” Iacovetta said, adding, “An institutional incarceration in a correctional facility is not necessary at this time.” At trial, Califano would face up to 25 years in prison.

Surely some happy medium exists between a maximal prison sentence and none at all for an alleged violent anti-Semite but the judge in the case is recommending a scandalous degree of leniency in the event a plea deal can be reached. If Califano avoids prison, straightforward, violent anti-Semitism would be recast as an unfortunate but narrowly clinical symptom of mental illness or addiction, a determination which—aside from being insulting to addicts and the mentally ill—sucks any moral agency, or even moral content, from Califano’s actions.

In the era of Donald Trump’s presidency, and particularly after the massacre at Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life synagogue in late October, Americans are supposed to be more sharply attuned to anti-Semitism and other resurgent bigotries, which represent a threat to both individual lives and the broader social fabric. Yet, even in heavily liberal and disproportionately Jewish New York, it’s far from apparent that anti-Semitism is actually being treated that way. There have been several recent attacks on Haredi Jews in Brooklyn which have gone generally ignored; those came just on the heels of an anti-Jewish arson spree that turned out to have been the responsibility of a former intern for the Democratic speaker of the New York City Council. In that perpetrator’s case, mental illness and addiction were again touted as explanations for actions that targeted only Jews and were committed by an individual with a long public record of making conspiratorial anti-Semitic statements.

Anti-Semitism is supposedly more present and more dangerous than every—yet it’s also always at a convenient and reassuring distance.

Alen Califano? Sounds more Italian to me, so does the judge. A sad day for justice in NYC. Maybe the perp can be sued for the injuries he visited on the 85 year old man. I hope the victim makes a full recovery.

I thought the nationality may have something to do with the judgement too. The judge should be fired for being a idiot and the drunken s.o.b. should be locked up and let the inmates take care of justice.

Unless this thing was a convert, Califano is an italian surname. Just another example of a dego bein’ a dego. What this article points out …. If you’re Jewish, you can be beaten within an inch of your life …. and the perpetrator will get off with less than a slap on the wrist.

No, Giuliani is a guinea. No, Madoff ran with too many degos to be a true Jew. Why, little one, are you such a bigoted racist? Why do you hold so much hate within you? Have you sought professional help? You’re a ticking time bomb. I cannot imagine what type of terrible atrocities you will do. Seek help before it is too late. Although you are a very bigoted racist, there may be hope for your future.

The French are also not particularly eager to emphasize that their country was named after the German tribe of the Franks (San Francisco, by the way, literally means “Holy Frankonian”). Also the Statue of Liberty and the Eiffel Tower are not created by “Frenchmen”, but by Germans. Lol.

No, he should have got a death sentence. He knew exactly where he was (a Jewish nursing home), what he was doing, and who he was doing it to. And the judge should be hanged right next to him.

My comments disappear. That is sad, because I try to be polite, and sensible in my opinions.
But I trust that God will judge even this.
Anyway, we the people need fair representation. No one is perfect, and judges should answer to the people regarding their decisions in cases such as this one.
I may be in error, but I sense they wield too much power.
I often hope for billionaire conservatives to help in these causes, if they are able, just like their counterparts help the liberal agenda.

TOO funny, little aemoreira1981. Many states have some judges appointed by the governor, one example being Kansas. In some states, that appointment is solid. Other states that have judges appointed by the governor require legislative approval. In Missouri, judges are appointed by a committee. Why do you continue to HUMILIATE yourself? Now, be a good little girl and cease ATTEMPTING to address your social and intellectual betters.

That does not surprise me at all. Why do people keep voting these types in?
It starts with the vote. Why was that mayor from nyc recently voted in, again?
Enough is enough.
When this bothers people enough, then do register for peaceful protest, and do so. Protest against the judge’s decision.
This is not right. Use of alcohol and drugs is not an excuse. Addiction is not an excuse. People make that choice, to use drugs, knowing full well the consequences that follow.
I’m appalled and sickened that this innocent elderly man had to endure such a vicious beating.
Can judges be removed from their position?
I hope something is done.

Apparently this far left judge believes drugs and alcohol jump into this person’s body and force them to rob and beat elderly people against their own will. The real stunner is the actions of the nursing home. Are there no cameras? I had no idea any facility allowed strangers to come in off the street and use the restroom, much less freely walk the halls and poke into the rooms of helpless elderly sick people. If anything, I would have expected a Jewish run facility to maintain higher security than the norm.

StevenRobert

It does seem like unwarranted leniency, however there’s little you can do if a judge takes that approach.
Perhaps since the judge is mandating in-patient mental health or addiction treatment, attempting to have the perpetrator committed as criminally insane, into a regular mental health facility might be the way to go. If a person is criminally insane, and a danger to the community, it might be possible to get a regular commitment to a mental institution.

In the case of the criminally insane, a definite time period of sentence is not the usual approach, but rather confinement until a person is no longer a danger to society or to themselves.

Perhaps petitioning the court for a Psychiatric evaluation would be something the court would at least consider.

Yes I can imagine what would happen if a non-Muslim attacked a Muslim – alcohol or no alcohol. And the guy could get more time than John Hinckley Jr. for shooting a President.

But I can also imagine what would happen if the attacker were Gay, black, ‘hispanic’ or a White or worse – a White ‘Christian’ (even one openly posting as an atheist). …

The Gay would get a wrist slap, the black would get probation, the ‘hispanic’ would have his fate weighed by his victim cards – an illegal would likely get sentenced, but be allowed to disappear never to face the music, but a ‘white’ hispanic would face the music.

As for the ‘white’ perps … it would be a media firestorm. Every schoolchild would know the victims name – and the perp would be associated with a litany of everything the Left hates. The Left would call Trump a racist Hist*er – for not sending a probe to Mars to tell our bacteria ancestor how awful this perp was.

… So it’s all in the eye of the beholder.

And, of course, no Leftist gives a flip about the elderly Jewish victim … nor do they care about Alen Califano’s future victims.
