Robert Spencer: Chicago Play Company Presents Muslim View of Jesus’ Birth As “Love Letter to Muslims”

Good news! According to Religion News Service, a theater company in Chicago named Silk Road Rising is producing a new play entitled “Christmas Mubarak,” presenting Qur’anic traditions about the birth of Jesus, “in hopes it will illustrate how much the two religions have in common.” This marvelous play premiered last week in Silk Road Rising’s theater, which is located inside a United Methodist Church.

The play’s director, Corey Pond, explains: “This is a love letter to the Muslims we know and who come, that they’re going to feel like they’re incorporated in the Christmas holiday.”

How wonderful! How broadminded! How ecumenical! In case Corey Pond or anyone else in Silk Road Rising is looking for inspiration for a sequel, here are some Qur’an passages that might be inspiring:

Jesus is not the Son of God and belief in the Trinity is “excess”: “O People of the Book! Do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter anything concerning Allah save the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and his word which he conveyed to Mary, and a spirit from him. So believe in Allah and His messengers, and do not say ‘Three.’ Cease! It is better for you! Allah is only One Allah. It is far removed from his transcendent majesty that he should have a son. His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is sufficient as Defender.” — Qur’an 4:171

And: “It is not befitting to Allah that he should beget a son. Glory be to him! When He determines a matter, he only says to it, ‘Be,’ and it is.” — Qur’an 19:35

Jesus was not crucified: “And because of their saying: We killed the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, Allah’s messenger – they did not kill him or crucify him, but it appeared so to them; and those who disagree concerning it are in doubt about it; they have no knowledge of it except pursuit of a conjecture; they did not kill him for certain.” — Qur’an 4:157

Those who believe in the divinity of Christ are unbelievers: “They have certainly disbelieved who say that Allah is Christ, the son of Mary.” — Qur’an 5:17 (cf. 5:72)

Christians have forgotten part of the divine revelations they received: “From those, too, who call themselves Christians, We did take a covenant, but they forgot a good part of the message that was sent them: so we estranged them, with enmity and hatred between the one and the other, to the day of judgment. And soon will Allah show them what it is they have done.” — Qur’an 5:14

Those who believe that Jesus is God’s Son are accursed: “The Jews call Ezra a son of Allah, and the Christians call Christ the son of Allah. That is a saying from their mouth; they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. Allah’s curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth! ” — Qur’an 9:30

Christians who do not accept Muhammad and the Qur’an are the most vile of created beings: “Nor did those who were given the Scripture become divided until after there had come to them clear evidence. And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and to give zakah. And that is the correct religion. Indeed, they who disbelieved among the People of the Book and the polytheists will be in the fire of Hell, abiding eternally therein. Those are the most vile of created beings.” — Qur’an 98:6

Muslims must fight against and subjugate Christians: “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden what has been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.” — Qur’an 9:29

Also, a hadith has Muhammad predicting that Jesus will return at the end of the world and break the cross, as it is an insult to Allah’s power to say that he would have allowed one of his prophets to be crucified:

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle said, “By Him in Whose Hands my soul is, son of Mary [Jesus] will shortly descend amongst you people [Muslims] as a just ruler and will break the Cross and kill the pig and abolish the Jizya [a tax taken from the non-Muslims, who are in the protection, of the Muslim government]. Then there will be abundance of money and nobody will accept charitable gifts. (Bukhari 3.34.425)

Muslims have sometimes taken this to mean not just that crosses will be destroyed in the end times, but that they should be now. In Spain in 2015, Muslims broke into a church, spray-painted “Allah” on wall, and destroyed the crucifix. In Pakistan in 2014, Muslims destroyed a church that was under construction, and desecrated the cross. When the Islamic State occupied Mosul, it made destruction of all crosses in the city a top priority.

Meanwhile, when is a Muslim theater company going to reciprocate with a play depicting the Christian view of Jesus’ birth?

Once again we see it: these “outreach” efforts are always and in every case one-way. Here, in closing, is my favorite New Testament verse, this time referring to Silk Road Rising: “Leave them; they are blind guides. And if a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit.” (Matthew 15:14)

This is NOT helpful and foolish. It will confuse the borderline “Christians” and perpetuate the idea we have the same God and we do NOT have the same God. It will inflame genuine Christians and annoy “devout” Muslims. Christians have nothing in common with Islam. Muslims conveniently blame ALL the evils of society on Christians and then some. Muslims will point to someone like Miley Cyrus and say – that’s a “Christian” and look – there’s Madonna another “Christian” and she even wears a cross!

Where is the love-letter to the Africans enslaved today from Saudi Arabia to Mauritania? Where the love-letter to the atheists & other Non-Muhammadists oppressed, raped, imprisoned, tortured, mass-murdered by Muhammadists?
How about exposing to the masses that Jesus in the Muhammadist version of things is about to come back when according to the Muhammadist scriptures Jews are murdered by Muhammadists & that he is about to “break the cross, kill the pig & abolish the Jizya-extortion-tax”, whatever that means. Maybe the cross he was about to be crucified on for criticizing Muhammadism, stepping next to serve pork & banning Muhammadism, that must be it.
The Muhammadist scriptures say people should not exaggerate in religion, but has anyone met ONE credible person that has made proven contact with what theists repeat after each other is God? Thought so.

Christians (and Leftists) try to “build bridges” to the Muslim community and Muslims use those bridges to invade and conquer them. Wake up and see what Muslims have done to every country they’ve migrated to.

The middle east used to be mostly Christian, within a few short centuries the Christians were all killed, driven out or forced to convert to Islam. The same happened to Hindu/Buddhist nations like Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh and parts of India. Iran used to be Zoroastrian and Secular, now it’s 99% Islamic but half of them still reject Islam and are fighting for their freedom.

It’s getting to the point that Muslims will become the dominant population on Earth. This obviously must not be allowed to happen. Peaceful coexistence with Muslims is impossible. Islam grows and spreads like a bacteria. If it is not removed it will destroy us like it did to 57 other nations.

What we as non-Muslims should be doing is putting aside our differences and working together with the common goal of getting rid of Islam whatever it takes, including warfare. Muslims are not good people. They didn’t come here to live as equals but as conquerors.

This has never changed for 1400 years and never will change. So it’s best that people stop groveling and bowing to Muslims, hoping they’ll become civilized and instead work to throw them out of our countries. We will also have to deal with the traitorous elites and Leftists who defend this evil death cult.

Great point. These corrupt leaders must be exposed and held to account. If they’re being bribed by rich Muslims like Hillary was, that must be put on the public record. Additionally we have no other option but to advance anti-Islam parties, start our own if none exist.

Only by taking political power or replacing bad leaders with those who defend our freedom/way of life and oppose Islam will we be able to rid ourselves of this plague. The only alternative is much uglier, civil war and should only be used as a last resort when a political solution can’t be reached.

We can already see how most of society has been turned to support Islam, esp in the UK. Even the mildest criticism of Islam is dealt with viciously. Just look at the way they treat Tommy Robinson and Gerard Batten, all the more reason to support UKIP and For Britain, the only parties that oppose Islamification and Muslim immigration.

In the US someone needs to educate Trump on this threat. While he certainly is a little wiser than GW Bush on Islam, there’s a great deal he doesn’t know and it is suicidal to be arming the funders of Al Qaeda (Saudi Arabia).

We’re giving them $100 billion worth of high tech military equipment. They’ll probably use that to kill fellow Muslims and also non-Muslims that they consider their enemy.

The Democrat party is basically the Islam-Communist party now. The good decent centrists have been pushed out and the radical Leftists/Muslims have infiltrated and taken over.

So the Republicans can’t afford to lose future elections or it just means the Muslims will get the upper hand and continue to do the same damage to the US and allies (like Israel) that Obama was doing when he was in power, while supporting the spread of Islam.

I believe Trump should get a second term, if only we could have Pam and Robert Spencer meet with him and give him a crash course on Islam, that would go a long way towards solving this problem.

Naivety to the nth degree. This article is more reason for me to believe that the disasters that have befallen this planet are, more often than not, directly related to religious fanaticism, and to the need for power and greed that permeates society.The quotes from the Quran in this article seems to confirm that conclusion. I note that the Quran refers to their claim that both Judaism and Christianity are false belief systems, and denies the faithful beliefs that Jesus was the son of God. While the Jews do not accept that last conclusion, Judaism nowhere demeans that claim, while Islam not only demeans and denies it, but also pursues death and/or conversion of both Christains and Jews.They believe that only their God exists, the deity they call Allah, and they falsely refer to Ezra as someone the Jews liken to a “son of God.” Islam is itself a belief system of fallacy. Ezra was a Zionist, who was responsible for bringing the Jews back to the site of the Temple, acting to create and rebuild that Temple. I do not believe he was ever revered as a God or son of God. Ezra was a high priest of his time, and is falsely represented in the Quran. Islam is an irreverent belief system created by men who were obviously seeking control of people, power and greed. It should never be seen as a reverent belief system. It has become a scourge on humanity. To falsely attempt to conclude that islam must be part of the diversity within this coutry is to fail to see the trees from the forest.

Pervert Mohammad is their “Jesus”. It’s like other cult religions. Mormonism touts Joseph Smith as their prophet who corrected teaching. Mormons have some common ground with Islam. For example, Mormons also believe in endless orgies in eternity and while on earth polygamy is fine. Both view the Bible as corrupt. Mormons point you to the Book of Mormon and the Pearl of Great Price similar to Muslims looking to the Hadith to “restore” teachings by their “prophet”. At least Mormons don’t run around bebeading or murdering nonbeliever but both certainly abuse females emotionally and physically. It always appeals to the carnal – sex and money.
