SESSIONS OUT: “At your request, I am submitting my resignation” Attorney General Sessions to President

30

Thank you very much, Mr. President. Our man never misses a beat.

From the moment Sessions took office and recused himself from the bogus “Russia hoax” persecution of the President, he has been a dismal failure.

Jeff Sessions resigns as attorney general

President Trump tweeted Wednesday afternoon that Attorney General Jeff Sessions has resigned. Matthew G. Whitaker, Sessions’ chief of staff, will become acting attorney general.

Story continues below advertisement

“At your request, I am submitting my resignation,” Sessions wrote to the president Wednesday.

Update from Fox news:

The president tweeted that Matthew Whitaker, who currently serves as chief of staff to Sessions, will become the acting attorney general.

“We are pleased to announce that Matthew G. Whitaker, Chief of Staff to Attorney General Jeff Sessions at the Department of Justice, will become our new Acting Attorney General of the United States. He will serve our Country well.”

Trump added: “We thank Attorney General Jeff Sessions for his service, and wish him well! A permanent replacement will be nominated at a later date.”

In his resignation letter, Sessions said was “honored to serve” as attorney general and said his Justice Department “restored and upheld the rule of law – a glorious tradition that each of us has a responsibility to safeguard.”

Sessions’ departure from the Justice Department is not unexpected, as the president has signaled changes to his administration after the midterms. But no one faced more rumors of an imminent dismissal than Sessions.

For more than a year, Trump has repeatedly lambasted Sessions over his recusal, saying he wouldn’t have installed Sessions as the country’s top law enforcement officer had he known his attorney general would recuse himself from the Russia probe.

In September, Trump said of his strained relationship with Sessions, “I don’t have an attorney general. It’s very sad.”

Shortly after taking office, Sessions removed himself from the Russia investigation in March of 2017, citing his involvement as a high-profile surrogate and adviser to Trump’s campaign.

The irony of ironies; I responded to a post about the ineptness of Sessions and how he remained AG of the USA. Finally, those who questioned the whys and wherefores of Jeffrey Sessions’ continuance as AG can breathe a sigh of relief. Holding a suspicion that Sessions will pencil a book speaking ill of President Trump and company. I may be wrong but it is an ongoing trend among political hacks and retreads.

He was such a huge disappointment! If he is not dirty, he may not understand WHY he was fired.
I had no doubt that after the midterm, Trump would get rid of him. I am glad to see Trump is not wasting any time. Immigration, social media, anti trust violations are looming large and need to be dealt with.

Amen, Felix; I only hope that Trump appoints someone with teeth and a few other unmentionable odds and sods.

Beautiful, though each time I hear it now, I think of the Mark Viduka Song on You Tube. ‘Dukes’ was the Socceroos captain and we love him. https://youtu.be/OzaM9tyOZCY

This man’s “best of my ability” was a pitiful display of cowardice and ineptitude. From the moment I first heard him speak I wondered whether his mommy knew he was out.

Sessions had a good reputation and one of the first to endorse Trump when others shunned him.
Sessions fooled allot of people. He could have been great. The LEFT really gave him a hard time.
I agree that Trump should NEVER listed to JaVanka. They are like Hillary surrogates and not real bright.
I was disappointed to see Trump have Ivanka have a moment on one of his rallies. Her liberalism disgusts me. I was hoping Trump was moving on from her…. I read that Jared will so be presenting his middle east “peace” plan. That should be s disaster. Jared is another moron.

Matthew Whitaker will be ACTING AG.

Matthew Whitaker: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

1. Trump Floated the Idea of Matthew Whitaker Replacing Jeff Sessions Permanently, Reports Say

2. In the Op-Ed, Whitaker Argued That Mueller Should Not Look Into Trump’s Finances

Matt Whitaker was the chief of staff to Jeff Sessions, a position to which he was named in October 2017.

3. Matthew Whitaker, Who Is Married With 3 Children, Played Tight End on the 1991 Rose Bowl Team for the Iowa Hawkeyes

He also served as Executive Director of a conservative “ethics watchdog” group called the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT). For example, he released a statement for the group that quoted him as saying, “The revelation today that the Obama State Department has deemed some of Hillary Clinton’s emails ‘too damaging’ to release in any kind of form now removes any doubt about whether Hillary Clinton put our national security at risk for the sake of her personal privacy and pursuit of the White House. This week I called for the appointment of a special counsel to investigate this most serious breach of national security. Because the Obama administration has a clear conflict of interest, it is imperative this investigation is done by an individual independent from the administration and is required to maintain the citizen’s trust in and the integrity of the government. This call is even more urgent given today’s disturbing news.”

4. Whitaker Is a Former U.S. Attorney Who Has Appeared on CNN

Matthew Whitaker worked as U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Iowa. In 2009, Whitaker “tendered his resignation” to Barack Obama after serving since 2004 in the position. He was described as a “Bush holdover” as he was chosen for the position by former President George W. Bush.

5. Whitaker Ran for Public Office Twice & Once Said He Wanted to Be Like Rand Paul

When he ran for U.S. Senate, Whitaker commented that he wanted to model himself after U.S. Sen. Rand Paul. He also said he wanted to be like Sen. Ted Cruz, according to The Des Moines Register.

Kushner was literally THE Trump King Maker as he headed the unprecedentedly brilliant 2016 large DATA / internet campaign that snatched what was supposed to be a cake walk Victory out of the filthy hands of Killery / DemonRats and for that he is probably the second most hated part of the current administration, right after Trump…

Kushner is a highly capable / effective operator, a HUGE asset as a Trump behind the scenes emissary / political strategist / counsel / policy promoter, he is no “lefty”, If anything, Kushner’s and Trump’s, for that matter, NY background, is an asset when engaged in a blood war against “progressive” / globalist, east coast elites

The miserable choice of Sessions as DOJ head was squarely the fault of the GOP establishment “advising” (sabotaging?) Trump in his early, more naive days in US politics

After many disappointments and the discovery of TRUE friends and allies in the DC den of Vipers, Trump will make FAR less appointment mistakes

Blaming Kushner for the Sessions hire is at best totally misguided

I strongly suspect the DemonRats have Sessions little balls in a vice of bribe & extortion (maybe only extortion)

Having Jeff Sessions start work is like having two good men quit.

I ask you, how many jobs have you ever had that would allow you to hang on while performing in such a slack fashion?

What a classless resignation by Sessions. Trump was a gentleman, but Sessions did not deserve courtesy. The day he recused himself should have been his last day in office, but its better late than never.
