NPR Sanitizes Iran’s Anti-Semitism: They’re Good To The Jews

36

It never fails. If there is an entity that hates America, hates the Jews, hates the Christians, hates free society, then the leftist enemedia in the West is ready, and even enthusiastic, to embrace it, whitewash it, and present it to the world as if it were a good and noble thing. It’s unconscionable, but it is not a rare or uncommon occurrence. For the enemedia, this is default mode. NPR’s editorial stance is entirely predictable: watch for features about how evil Trump is, about the rising threat of the “far-right,” about how wonderful Ocasio-Cortez, Tlaib, and Ilhan Omar are, and the like. It’s just another leftist propaganda mill.

“NPR Sanitizes Iran’s Anti-Semitism: They’re Good To The Jews,” by Hank Berrien, Daily Wire, November 28, 2018 (thanks to Mark):

PBS, desperately trying to promote the fiction that Iran is good to Jews, ran a segment in which they interviewed a Jewish member of Iran’s parliament, who insisted that he was happy living in Tehran.

Story continues below advertisement

Correspondent Reza Sayah interviewed Siamak Morsadegh, whose wife wanted to move to America 20 years ago and did so, while he refused to leave. Morsadegh insisted that anyone who wanted to leave Iran could leave; he simply did not want to.

Sayeh asked Morsadegh, “Many people outside of Iran are going to remark that you’re not being completely truthful, you’re not being completely open. How can you convince people?” Morsadegh answered, “I cannot convince a man who don’t want to understand our condition, of course.”

Although Jews living in Iran date back over 2,500 years, as Tablet Magazine’s Yair Rosenberg pointed out, there were once 150,000 Jews in Iran; 90% fled Iran in the 20th century….

Sayeh acknowledged, “Not everything is perfect for Iran’s Jews. They’re still kept away from senior government and military positions. Some are believed to be closely monitored by Iran’s intelligence agencies, and many people question if they’re openly expressing their true feelings. And they find themselves in a seemingly difficult position. They live in a country whose leaders are sworn enemies of Israel, the homeland of their faith.”

But there’s another side to the story, as detailed by journalist Annika Hernroth-Rothstein, who visited Iran’s Jewish community in 2016:

Jewish life here comes with carefully constructed rules and understandings, and one of the basic tenets involves separation from and defamation of Zionism and Israel. Outbursts of loyalty to the regime are expected, whether in the form of volunteering for a war or sharing an enemy, and that aspect of Iranian Jewish reality is something I as a European Jew can relate to and fully understand. It is clear that the Jewish community lives with a constant level of suspicion toward outsiders and insiders alike, always fearing treachery and infiltration; and much like in the Soviet Union, people are trying to weed out informants, unsure how to tell friend from foe.

Hernroth-Rothstein asked one woman about the claim that Jews were free to leave for Israel any time they wanted and got a truthful response. The woman stated:

We are allowed by law now, but when you leave the country you have to put up collateral, often everything you own, and usually there is only one visa per family offered at one time. So we can visit, if we do it discretely, but rarely someone leaves. The price would be too high for the rest of us.

Why are they all wearing go pro’s?

Are those cameras? When I saw the picture, I thought they were wearing headlamps to aid in their reading of the tanakh, et al.

They are filming themselves reading the sacred scriptures so they watch it later with their friends to brag how holy they are.

I had no idea what they were wearing. I’ve heard of, but not personally seen a “go pro”. I thought nothing of it, as I assumed they were simply headlamps, in order for them to better read. What is childish about that, little one? Obviously, you’re under the age of twelve or pushing your latter nineties.

I believe they are wearing phylacteries.

Could be. Thanks for bringing that to our attention. However, when I reviewed the picture, I saw no sight of tefillin. I’ve known some that rock when they daven, and they always have the leather wrapped arms. Okay … .found it. Second from the left (stage left). Stripes in the other direction of his shirt. Has to be leather.

There’s no question they’re wearing phylacteries.

When you first brought that to my attention, I knew that you were right. Complete tefillin, from the arms to the scripture box. Thanks.

For money they will sell out everyone.

And their holdovers still support it.

Did you ever hear about how Jesus criticized them for wearing diadems and told his followers to not be hypocrites and not to be like those that pray in the streets to be recognized. Instead to pray in your closet.
I guess you’d call him an A$$hole too. And I am like a child. Because Jesus said that you must be as a child to enter the kingdom of Heaven. So if you hate me in his name. Thankyou. Because he said great is my reward in heaven. Jews are not above being made fun of or criticized. Not all Jews have good will towards the non jew. In. some ways they are like muslims.
There find superiority in their faith. That is wrong. But somehow they get a pass. Too much Holocaust guilt. Don’t pin that on me. I never killed anyone.

My impression is this is the minor detail that NPR left out of their coverage. Can anyone confirm my understanding? If so, it is such a significant omission as to amount to deception. While the Daily Wire article doesn’t completely address that question, it does strongly imply that NPR elected to omit that troubling fact:

For years, NPR has been parroting the idea that Jews are fine in Iran; in 2015 NPR published an article along the same lines.

Back when Brezhnev’s Soviet Union was in business, their government bragged how open their emigration policy was. They would regularly grant speedy exit to a handful of Jews, and then point out that “so-and-so and his family applied to emigrate, and left within three months”. While formally true, it was a grand deception, as most people had to wait years, or decades, if, indeed, they were allowed to leave at all. Moreover, once you applied to leave the Worker’s Paradise, your employment was terminated and you faced a very difficult situation.

There is a considerable history of Westerners journeying to oppressive regimes, and coming back with rosy reports that serve to confirm the reporters’ ideological preferences.

Yeah, I saw that story on NPR
– what unbelievable BS
– from a gov’t funded news source
– the Democrats ran exactly the same type of story
– in circa1850
– about how black slaves ‘liked’ their plantations

Amen, NPR is solely a propaganda spewer for pro-Democrats, pro-Progressive, pro-Islam/Jihad, anti-Semitism/Israel, anti-American, anti-Constitutional; the list has no end. They learned and honed this faux-journalism from Goebbels, and PRAVDA.

Toast:
“According to S&P Global Platts trade flow tracking data, Iranian crude oil exports in November are below 800,000 bpd [barrels per day] so far, compared with a six-month average of 2.4 million bpd earlier this year.”
– no oil = no money
– most of Iran’s revenue comes from oil exports
– and Trump’s goal is zero Iranian oil exports
– anything less than 500,000 bpd
– will crash the Iranian economy
– current inflation of 300% is only the beginning

I still remember the time an Iranian Shitite mongrel tried to tell me “Christians were treated better than anyone” in Iran — this while a Christian pastor and convert (to Christianity) was imprisoned in Iran on the flimsiest of excuses.

After reading this article, I conclude that a Jew in Iran is nothing more than a farm animal, and is essentially treated as such. if NPR has concluded that Iran’s leadership treats Jews with any due process and equal treatment, that reporting agency has lost their collective minds. How any responsible person can come to a conclusion like that which is suggested in this article is mind boggling. After all, hearing constantly “death to Israel and America” speaks volumes, and nobody should be fooled by Iran’s leaders who overtly and actively support violent Jihad.

NPR is a total propaganda machine, who’s sole aim is to soften and promote the image of islam by airing these totally skewed stories. When was was the last time NPR did a pro-Christian story. They should not be receiving one cent of taxpayer dollars .

Speaking of NPR … its fellow travelers over at PBS did a video on the Vikings in Greenland … and get this … (No surprise of course) …

but did you know the Viking colony in Greenland failed because of … drum roll … the Church.

I kid you not. They blamed the ‘fundamentalist’ and ‘rigid’ Church for the demise of the Vikings and ‘their failure to adapt to the changing climate conditions’ …

It would be funny, but for the death, destruction, and disaster Leftists sow wherever they wield power.

I’m shocked and yet I’m not. This is the left’s total revising if history in full swing. I’m really surprised Santa is still allowed in the public lexicon as a positive figure. Perhaps by next Christmas, after maybe a Supreme Court ruling, he will have been deemed too offensive, too divisive a character to remain part of Americana.
