Tunisian Scouts movement bars French Jews from interfaith meeting
Organizers’ decision to ban the Jewish delegates, who are not Israeli citizens, said to follow complaints from BDS organizations

Story continues below advertisementJewish French community leaders have complained after organizers of an interfaith meeting in Tunisia for members of the Scouts movement rescinded an invitation to French Jewish delegates following pressure by promoters of boycotts against Israel.
The two delegates of the International Forum of Jewish Scouts were excluded from the meeting held last week in the resort town of Hammamet for members of the youth movement from around the world. Titled “Interfaith Dialogue Ambassadors,” the event brought together 150 participants from 24 countries.
But the French Jews who traveled there to participate in the event were asked to leave, Francis Kalifat, the president of the CRIF umbrella group of French Jewish communities, wrote in an open letter of complaint to Abdelaziz Rassaa, Tunisia’s ambassador to France.
The treatment of the two Jewish delegates at an event that “purports to bring closer people of various religions,” he wrote, “seriously tarnishes the image of tolerance and openness that Tunisia wishes to transmit.”
The organizers’ decision to bar the Jewish delegates, who are not Israeli citizens, follows protests online by anti-Israel groups.
TACBI, the local branch of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement against Israel published a statement Nov. 6 about it.
“The Tunisian Campaign for Cultural and Academic Boycott of Israel has learned that the Tunisian Scouts have invited an international Zionist organization, ‘The International Forum of Jewish Scouts,’” to the event, they wrote. TACBI “strongly condemns the disguised normalization operation carried out by the Tunisian Scouts.”

I seem to remember a story about a mob of f’ing muslums besieging a synagogue in Tunisia earlier this century as reported right her by Ms. Geller.

Take a look at the dominate “religion” of Tunisia.
The majority of Tunisia’s population (around 98%) are Muslims while about
2% follow Christianity and Judaism or other religions.
The bulk of Tunisians belong to the Maliki School of Sunni Islam…..

In 1936, at the Berlin Olympics, all countries, including the US, removed Jewish members of their teams to accommodate Nazi antisemitism. After the war, when the Holocaust details became known, all preferred to forget their complicity in ostracizing Jews. Today, we have the return of the 1936 shame. If the international scouts had any honor, they would have walked out in protest, instead of participating in and affirming the exclusion of the Jews.
I blame all and every one of the international participants as much as I blame Tunisia and the BBS thugs, since without their consent ostracizing Jews wouldn’t be possible.

Liberals ALWAYS take over established organizations. They like to catch people unaware of how they have changed. Parents will be tempted to think, when I was a Boy Scout or a Girl Scout it was a great organization. The only problem is the organization has CHANGED and they are not aware of it.

Why no statement/response from the International Scouts Organization? Without one, this action has been, in effect, condoned and therefore reinforced and encouraged by the Scout Movement.
