In 2009, Bibi found herself in a quarrel when she went to get water for herself and other farm workers and two Muslim women objected to drinking from a container used by a Christian. A mob later came after Bibi, accusing her of insulting the prophet, and she was beaten up in her home. She was subsequently arrested, tried, and sentenced to death.
Her case has had ramifications throughout Pakistani society in the years since. For instance, it provoked the statement by the brave governor of Punjab, Salman Taseer, which led to his own murder by one of his own bodyguards. In the days since her release from jail, there have been mass protests in Pakistan where thousands of enraged fanatics have called, literally, for Asia Bibi’s head. The case has amply demonstrated the type of country that Pakistan is these days. But who would have guessed that her case would also throw so much light on the type of country Britain now is?
There are clearly international efforts underway to get Bibi out of Pakistan. If anybody in the world deserves asylum it is her. And any civilized country should be queuing up to give asylum to her and her family. Among those reported to have done so is the Netherlands.
But today there are reports that the British government has said that it will not offer asylum to Asia Bibi. The reason being “security concerns” — that weasel term now used by all officialdom whenever it needs one last reason to avoid doing the right thing. According to this report, the government is concerned that if the U.K. offered asylum to Bibi it could cause “unrest among certain sections of the community.” And which sections would that be? Would it be Anglicans or atheists who would be furious that an impoverished and severely traumatized woman should be given shelter in their country? Of course not. The “community” that the British government will be scared of is the community that comes from the same country that has tortured Asia Bibi for the last eight years.
Theresa May Refuses Asylum for Pakistani Christian Hunted by Lynch Mobs to Appease British Muslims

Asia Bibi’s ordeal began when Muslim fieldworkers objected to her drinking from the same water supply as them, branding her “unclean” and telling her she should convert to Islam, which she declined to do.
Days later, village imam Qari Muhammad Salaam declared she had committed blasphemy over the mosque loudspeakers. A baying mob dragged her before a makeshift sharia court with a leather noose around her neck, again demanded that she convert, and beat her with sticks and sandals when she again refused.
The mob then handed her over to the authorities, who laid formal charges against her in a town court which handed down a sentence of death by hanging after a 30-minute hearing.
Eight years on death row in solitary confinement followed before her conviction was finally overturned in a Supreme Court appeal — but this triggered a wave of furious protests by thousands of radical Muslims demanding her execution go ahead.
They have been hunting her from house to house in order to dispense vigilante “justice” since she was released. Two of her political supporters, Punjab governor Salman Taseer and Minister for Minorities Shahbaz Bhatti, have already been assassinated, and her life remains in peril — but the British prime minister has refused to grant her asylum.
The United Kingdom plays host to a startling number of foreign and dual nationals involved in radical Islamic terrorism, hate preaching, organised crime, and even war crimes, and Theresa May recently agreed to take thousands of young male illegal migrants claiming to be children from safe, first world France.
She declined to take in Mrs Bibi, however, after unelected civil servants — on whom she relies heavily for advice on Brexit, foreign policy, and much else — advised her that it could “stoke tensions” among Britain’s over three million strong Muslim population, and prompt radicals overseas to attack British embassies and consulates.
“[Home Secretary] Sajid [Javid] was very sceptical about the official advice, and pushed hard for her to be given asylum here,” claimed a senior government source quoted by the Mail on Sunday.
“It eventually landed on the Prime Minister’s desk, but she just followed the advice of the officials,” they added.
“[L]ots of Christians are disappointed by the British government not allowing her into the UK,” commented Qamar Rafiq, a human rights activist who had lobbied for Britain to take Mrs Bibi in.
“If she stays here longer, she will be killed. I am disappointed [Theresa May’s government] have not offered her asylum,” added Joseph Nadim, a friend of Mrs Bibi and fellow Chrisitan.

Ms. Parks was charged with a violation of Chapter 6, Section 11 segregation law of the Montgomery City code. She spent less than 24 hours in jail. She was never convicted. Doesn’t sound much like being beaten, daily, and held on death row for over eight years.

Dave….I take one exception to what you said….President Trump did not get in “by the skin of his teeth”…the lie going around was that she won the “popular vote by 3 million”.
Though it didn’t make much coverage in the news later…..US District Attorneys around the country reported 6 months after the election that collectively there were over 3 million illegal votes….for Clinton…and that wasn’t even all states reporting.
All I can say is praise God for our Founding Fathers for creating the Electoral College…or we would have had Brome Hillda-beast in charge.

I stayed up all night and followed the election avidly and when he won I celebrated wildly.
The slag Hillary winning would have been a nightmare for the whole of the western world and I as a half American was very happy indeed.
There is much support amongst British patriots for president trump.

It was a double celebration for me as we had only recently won the Brexit vote both of which I thought would usher in a new age of freedom but I didn’t see the battles we would have to fight ahead because of these two historic victories.
But no one said it was going to be easy either.

NEVER in the great and illustrious history of my country has there ever been a more cowardly and deceitful leader than T May.
She easily beats the Hitler appeaser Neville Chamberlain into second place and is a total embarrassment to Britons everywhere.

Hell’s bells, forget the UK….I would not endanger Asia’s life by having her seek “sanctuary” in Islamicized UK.
She should seek refuge in the Vatican City….scratch that…doubt the Pope would give her sanctuary–he’s too palsy-walsy w/ the IslamoNazis.
Her best bet would be the non-Islamicized areas of the US or, Hungary or Poland…countries that are still considered part of the “FREE WORLD.”

How SURE are you? I read too much of Pamella Geller, Robert Spencer, et. al….so I’m thoroughly biased. So I assume you will be her 24/7 personal body guard or at least pay for it…GREAT! I wouldn’t even think of visiting the UK…I fear for any kaffir who lives there.

Unlike you I don’t fear of going anywhere in the UK or the US and I would love to guard the life of Asia Bibi and her family as would many-many other decent Brits.

But too many of your fellow Brits and political leaders have unfortunately shown “EXTREME” tolerance of an historical vicious enemy of Europe…far worse than Hitlerian Nazism. I’ve given up on Sweden, UK, France, Germany and Spain…the demographic jihad alone will might make native Europeans minorities in their own countries within the century. Do a bit of research and you will see that she became PM by default of David Cameron resigning and her days as PM are very close to ending due to her deceitful handling of the Brexit negotiations where she is basically trying to give my country away to a gang of totalitarian crooks.

I have always loved the Brits….but they took a very bad Left turn with Blair and then compounded it with May….I don’t understand the parliamentary political system there…but the best I can tell, the individual doesn’t have a lot of say in that system that rules them.
And sadly, it’s getting more and more that way in America….especially with all the corrupt Dimms stuffing ballot boxes with “newly found” votes in the back of cars….but we still have at least some control.

Wrong turns are easy for nations to make. It was a right turn that brought Trump to the white House but it was a very narrow victory and could have easily turned wrong with Hillary.
Our voting system in the UK needs to change from first past the post to proportional representation.
I won’t be holding my breath though as turkeys Don’t vote for Christmas and UKIP are the only party calling for it.
