Report: Israel targets senior Hamas member in Gaza strike

The IDF reportedly hit targets in southern Gaza, according to Palestinian media outlets.
Palestinian media reported four Palestinians were killed in strikes exchange of gunfire between IDF soldiers and members of Hamas’s military wing, Izaddin al-Qassam. in the southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Younis on Sunday night.
According to local reports a firefight broke out between Palestinian terrorists and IDF troops in Khan Younis.
The strikes attributed to the Israel Air Force consisted of at least 10 missiles and targeted senior terrorist in Hamas’ military wing, the Izzedine al-Qassem Brigade, killing the Khan Younis commander Sheikh Nur Barakeh, and Muhammad al-Qara.
Shortly after residents in the Israeli communities surrounding the southern Gaza Strip were warned to stay close to shelter following the security incident, incoming rocket sirens were activated in the communities with residents reporting hearing explosions.
Rocket sirens were sounded near the border communities of Avshalom, Dekel, Yevul, Yated, Pri Gan, Sde Avraham, Shlomit and Shlomzion.
Hamas and other Palestinian groups issued a statement urging Palestinian journalists and social media users to refrain from publishing details of what the “security incident” that took place east of Khan Yunis on Sunday night.
