New York University Students to Bring Forward BDS Resolution

Stern School of Business. Tisch School of the Arts. Kimmel Center for University Life. There are huge Jewish dollars at that school. But that doesn’t matter to the students who are now promoting this BDS resolution at NYU, or to the professors who support them. Jew-hatred has become fashionable on campuses again, aided and abetted by neo-kapo groups such as Jewish Voice for Peace, which is neither authentically Jewish nor for peace in any meaningful way.

“New York University Students to Bring Forward BDS Resolution,” Algemeiner, October 16, 2018 (thanks to Mark):

Students at New York University (NYU) plan to promote a resolution supportive of the boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) campaign against Israel in November, drawing opposition from some Zionist campus leaders.

The resolution will be brought forward on November 1 by three students senators including Rose Asaf, a co-founder of Jewish Voice for Peace at NYU, the student-run Washington Square News reported. It will be voted on through a secret ballot on December 6, after six speakers from each opposing side of the debate will be given two minutes to speak, and only NYU students will be allowed to attend.

Asaf said that the resolution will be “explicitly posed” as part of the BDS campaign, whose co-founder and other senior advocates have urged the creation of a Palestinian state in place of Israel. “A lot of the times at other universities, they’ll try to separate it from the BDS movement and say this is just divestment,” she noted. “We are explicitly saying that this is a result of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement.”

Leaders with the student clubs TorchPAC and Realize Israel — both of which were subject to a boycott pledge by more than 50 BDS-supporting student clubs at NYU in April — expressed their concerns over the latest BDS initiative on campus to Washington Square News.

“BDS infantilizes Palestinians, removing any responsibility or agency from their end,” said Gabe Hoffman, treasurer of Realize Israel, who noted that Israel has previously tried to negotiate peace with the Palestinians. “It hinders the prospects of a mutually agreed-upon peaceful solution and ultimately hurts the wrong people, namely, the near 50,000 Palestinians with jobs at risk if their firms are sanctioned.”

Asaf called this position “neo-colonial and paternalistic,” pointing out that Palestinian trade unions approve of BDS.

TorchPAC treasurer Joshua Reichek added in turn that he was “skeptical of singling out the only Jewish state for divestment.”

“While I do not agree with all of the policies of the Israeli Government, I would imagine that most people would rightly view an attempt to boycott Americans or divest from all American institutions due to Trump’s policies as ignorant and bigoted,” he added….

These universities of higher learning and critical thinking should have a major on the subject of ignorance . So that when one believes something with such fervor, ie bds movement they learn to study both sides of the issue. They should learn to weigh the agenda and analyze the side that they oppose so they really understand what they are against, before reaching a conclusion. If they don’t do that then they are doing a disservice to their knowledge and education. The bottom line is that there will always be right or wrong , or good and bad when comes to any side or view. The students have become leftist drones with no tolerance for free society, ie antifa, spj, b L m etc.

Israel gave up Gaza for peace, they released 1000 prisoners most of them dangerous criminals for peace and many other concessions. The Israelis have done a thousand times more for peace than the ‘Palestinians’ ever have and the latter have committed thousands more acts of aggression than the Israels have. How many Israelis have gone into their territory to stab or blow up Muslims? I can only remember one because Israelis are civilised people. What would we see if Israel was ‘replaced’ by a Muslim state? Mass murder that is what we would see. Just another sharia run country just like all the others in Muslim world and a country which would contribute nothing to the betterment of mankind

college students now are so ignorant and illiterate and lazy and dumb that no argument or explanation of real facts or real history is too daunting for these cretins to dismiss. we have devolved. weakened by this insult to western idealism of respect for the individual and consensus and the common good. Jew hating is the abysmal bottom of the cesspool. our President is doing an heroic job of trying to lift us out of the mire but I think America is hopelessly the walking dead. it always starts with the Jews it never ends there.
