Long time Geller favorite Charles Aznavour died this week. And France, too — the France of love, romance, beauty, elegance, fashion.

Azanavour’s death is the final nail in the coffin of a long painful cultural death. And in its place, a war zone under the boot of sharia law.

For those unfamiliar with Aznavour, deprive yourself no more. And if you are fortunate in love, share it with your lover. If not, share it with the one you’re with.

Aznavour has entered the world of the immortals of the greatest French singers of all time. What a difference it is to listen to his recordings, as well of those of Edith Piaf, Patachou, Fréhel, Lucienne Delyle, Lucienne Boyer, Annie Cordy, Yves Montand, Mistinguet, etc. and the rubbish barked by “French”(?) rappers…

I think I like him a ltlle better in French. I guess French doens’t translate too well to English. But when I heard him sing in the 2nd video it reminded me of those great movies that came out of France in the 60’s.

Wasn’t Europe the best in the 60’s?

First heard him when I was a teenager and loved him from that moment. So sorry he’s left us, there was no one like him. There never will be again.

What a fantastic voice.. All those who had class, style are leaving us….And the dregs of society have taken their place…with little or no talent… In those days, they didn’t use voice manipulation… everyone had their own singing style. Today, they all sound the same… Quel dommage!

“Hier encore ” or “yesterday when I was young ” the English version of this beautiful ballad, I really enjoy listening to Elton John and Aznavour performing this number together.
