This should come as no surprise to anyone. The money was intended to help Afghan Muslim women join the work force. But in Afghanistan, and in Islamic law, women are essentially only slaves of men. They have no business joining the work force and working outside the home. They should just be cooking and cleaning and having babies. This comes from the Islamic reduction of women to the status of commodities, and that’s why this program failed, but of course no one in USAID will ever examine or admit that. They are claiming the problem was that the program was poorly organized. Yeah, that’s it.

Since 2015, The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has spent $280 million on a program intended to help tens of thousands of Afghan women enter their country’s work force and gain promotions. According to a report from the Special Inspector General for Afghan Reconstruction (SIGAR), the program has helped somewhere between no women and roughly 60.
Story continues below advertisementUSAID’s “Promote” program is the agency’s “largest women’s empowerment program in [USAID] history,” according to the program’s website. It was supposed to train Afghan women to enter the private and public sectors, and then help them become eligible for promotions in their fields. And it was intended to extend those training and hiring benefits to 75,000 Afghan women.
But SIGAR found that in the three years since Promote’s 2015 founding, the number of women who found “new or better” employment was closer to 55. SIGAR added that it could not conclusively credit the women’s successes to the program. SIGAR also reported that it is “unclear” whether or not the Afgan government will choose to support the program “as the Afghan government might not be able to hire all of Promote’s graduates.” It is also “unclear whether the graduates will obtain jobs in the private sector in large numbers due to the country’s low projected economic growth rate.”…

Afganistan will never improve as long as islam pevails. only time it saw equal rights was under communist Rule supported by soviet union which of course Good old Reagon help destroy by funding jihadis, who in turn paid back with 9/11 and continuing cost in cash and death of American soldiers supported by Great Ally pukistan !.

Muslims are aiding Muslims. Saudi Arabia has invested nearly 1 billion in US universities and that pays for indoctrination of students who then act more favourably to Muslims..They also pay for Mosques in Europe, the US and elsewhere.

Gee, that money was supposed to help 75,000 women. And it only made to to 60. Well, of course it did. The administrators of the program needed to get paid before any women were actually helped. Another fine, fine example of U.S. taxpayer dollars going far and helping those in need. I’ll be sure and tell the next homeless vet I see that he wont get any assistance for a while because some woman/jihadi in Afghanistan needed U.S. benefits more than he did

Well? Where did the REST of the money go? They know where. It went to the program, it’s huge bureacracy and in the end it only helped the agency.
By the time they paid the administrators and bureaucrats they had only enough money to help 66 women.
This is why I don’t believe in government or their illegal, tyrannical and communist thievery called “taxes”. You end up just paying the bureaucrats to run the program and agencies who must now hire more to distribute the money – to themselves.

WTF is America trying to change the culture of Afghanistan? Islam cannot be reformed and it regards democracy as shirk. It is a mark of profound ignorance to think otherwise. Why are there any NATO forces still there? Leave and let them get back to doing what they do best. That money should go to building the Wall and other security measures. Thank goodness we do not judge the success of government programs by their effectiveness instead of by their “good intentions.” This applies to almost all government programs.
